That shop sent me to Southwest Auto Tech. We got there just before business hours but they were there and had me pull right into the shop. An hour and a half or so later, I was back on my way with a new alternator. Great fast service. Thanks guys!!!!! During our wait I asked about a restroom and they showed me to one in the back of the shop. I explained that I didn't need it, it was for my partner. He said he had a different one for her. The shop there said it would take them a couple of weeks to get a rebuilt transmission if they could even find one. Someone recommended we try BG&S in North Platte, and they agreed to fix it, so we had it towed there. When James found out we were stranded far from home, he got us back on the road in a couple of days! We even have a warranty with the rebuilt transmission they installed that we can use in our home state. The price was very reasonable, and James explained to us in detail how and why our transmission failed, and gave us pointers on maintaining our "new" one. These guys really ARE good at what they do!

Town and Country was my third call as the other places were booked, but Cody was very helpful on the phone and siad it could be a number of things, but most likely a battery. He also said he'd get me right in as I said I had the family with me and we were looking forward to skiing. Cody had one of his mechanics look at it within 10 minutes of us showing up. They tested the batter, alternator, cables, etc. He said one of the cables was lose and everything else checked out. He had his mechanics take not one, but two short test drives to ensure it wasn't anything more, then said nothing needed to be done. I asked how much do I owe you? Cody said nothing, we didn't do anythin. I said, yes you did... you're guy has been working on it and test driving it for 30 minutes, I owe you. He refused payment. I couldn't believe it! I was blown away, not only did he save my skiing trip, but didn't want any money for helping. These guys are awesome! Shotty repair work. Used car muffler on a diesel truck, unauthorized repairs, completed work before…read moregetting authorization or giving me an estimate. Save yourself the hassle and take it to real mechanic. Their labor hourly rate is more than a real mechanic with a real shop. They don't know vehicles either. I had to tell them how to diagnose the vehicle, and I'm not a mechanic! They have a car lift and a welder, otherwise I would've done the repairs myself. They are charging twice as much for parts. I could've ordered the parts from the auto parts store for half the price!!!! And that's at full retail!!! I fully intend to file a complaint with the AG concerning the unauthorized repairs.
