Incredible noodle soup! I got the chicken and mushroom. The mushrooms were so flavorful. The broth was exactly what I wanted on a cold and rainy day. They have a large portion of noodles. The chicken thigh was marinated so well and super savory. Service was very quick. You pay when you order then they drop off the bowls. It's a small, no frills place. Come here for real deal noodles and a delicious soup.

Came here trying to relive some China experiences and was not disappointed. I ordered the 1" wide noodles with lamb shank, coriander and spring onion, four lamb skewers (aka yang rou chuanr) and a Tsingtao. The broth was rich and flavorful without being amazing. The noodles were nice, and coated in silky lamb fat, would have preferred a tad more chew to them but perfectly acceptable. The lamb pieces were plentiful but slightly anaemic looking, a pale beige and I'm not sure I'd have known it was lamb if I'd just been given it, but it was tasty enough nonetheless. The yang rou chuanr, was roasting hot and evidently straight from the grill, it was coated in coriander seeds and spice which brought me away from the cold dark Edinburgh streets and straight back to China. They were missing the smoky, charred element of ones done on charcoal but the seasoning was on point. All in all a decent, authentic northern Chinese noodle meal, not amazing but nice nonetheless. Finished it off with another Tsingtao and some Oolong tea. The service was friendly and efficient and most of the patrons were Chinese students.

Had an amazing meal here The griddle pot had tofu skin, lotus root, potato, broccoli, tofu, and a generous portion of ribs. Green beans and pork were good as were the handmade noodles! The entire restaurant was full of international students so you know it's real lol. Value was also a+

Exceptional noodle restaurant! Our hand-pulled noodles were absolutely incredible. So fresh and so tasty.

I think I found my favorite spot to eat noodles while visiting here. First time visiting Edinburgh and I was just looking up foods on a whim that was open at the time, I'm so glad I found this place. The service was quick but good, they explained the portions and what the food includes if we had any questions. One thing I also notice is that in the UK, restaurants will always ask if you have any food allergies before you order to help you choose your food. The food itself was absolutely delicious, noodle soup on a cloudy rainy day really helps out. The broth was light and I chose thick noodles. The sweet and sour pork was super delicious as well, I never expected it to be so crunchy. Had a good flavor, crunch, and definitely was sweet and sour. I would reccommend this place for food to eat if youre visiting Edinburgh and want to eat something the rainy weather.

It is unbelievably delicious especially in a cold winter! The soup noodle/ Ramen is more authentic than many restaurants in China! I ordered lamb chunks ramen and pork feet as a side dish. Both are just perfect ! Highly recommended !

Wow!! My husband and I were recently in the UK and after a couple days of eating British food I was craving for some Chinese. I am glad I found this place. Super authentic and the noodles are hand pulled, which is hard to beat. We got the fried noodles with vegetables, spicy noodles and chicken skewers. The chicken skewer was decent. The noodles, are really what stands out. There aren't many places that serve fried noodles with homemade, hand pulled noodles. It was very tasty. The spicy noodles were probably my favorite. It didn't look spicy but it had a decent kick to it and we like more spice so we added some and it elevated it so much. The creaminess of the peanut sauce and the spice flavor along with the pork mince reminded me of a dish I love back in Malaysia that I have not found outside of it so that was quite a nice surprise. Worth visiting. The service was great too.

Food was tasty hot and service was quick. The restaurant was recommended by local host and is frequented by local population. This appears to be a small location though there may be addition al seating on the second level. If my stay wasn't as short, I would have came again.

not that many reviews on yelp on this page, but this place is super popular in edinburgh. probably the most popular Chinese place, and it can get crowded with a wait if you go at meal times. very authentic vibes with most of the workers speaking Chinese. luckily was with a chinese friend to handle the ordering and asking for random things like chili sauce. the hand pulled noodles with beef were delicious and the broth wasn't salty so could drink all of it!

Was surprised to have such authentic and delicious Chinese food in Edinburgh. I had the sichuan and pork mince noodles and MY GOODNESS it was deliciously mouth-numbingly tasty. The service and setting were typical of a Chinese restaurant. We are already looking forward to returning for more noodles.

Food was awesome. Staff was friendly and attentive. Not much in the way of ambience. Price was reasonable. Recommend the Szechuan noodles.

We were…read morewarmly greeted when we came in and when we left the person at the front was really friendly and engaging. The spicy edamame was very good and had a nice kick. The shrimp crackers tasted stale! The sauce that came with it was also a bit spicy which I enjoyed. The chicken was surprising in that you couldn't modify the amount of heat in the dish. To me that indicates it being pre-cooked. That is very strange to me because literally every single Asian restaurant in the world has the ability to customize their menu, especially when it comes to spice levels. I actually wanted mine to be hotter than it was. Another person in our party wanted less spice. No exceptions were made. The egg spicy noodles were probably my favorite thing that I tried. Again we were told that the spice level that couldn't be modified at all. For the price you pay you should really get more in both size and in quality. The music and the vibe were very trendy and appealing to the instagram crowd. I would not likely come back.

I have something to confess - I definitely search for "most Instagrammable restaurants" when I…read moretravel - because I love a good theme, or an ambiance that is out of this world. And let me tell you right now - Tattu lived up to the hype I read online and THEN SOME! We booked a later reservation because we were coming back from a tour that day, and we were promptly seated right when we arrived. The vibe was exactly as described - it was upscale, and very ethereal feeling. Trees uplit with purple and pink lights, black marble tables, more floral/light touches, and a dragon mural on the ceiling and also in a projected design on the far wall of the dining area. And luckily, the food was just as good as the ambiance. My friend and I both did the Evening Set Menu, that included a starter for each person and a main dish per person. They also had desserts and sides that you could add for an extra charge (we did a dessert each, and they were also amazing, but more on that later - hold your horses!). I had the Crispy Pork Belly for my starter and it was divine - nice and crispy outside with a soft middle and a delicious dipping sauce. My friend did the Duck Spring Rolls and they were so tasty as well (we split a few of each others' starter). The cherry hoisin sauce that came with the spring rolls was fantastic and a little sweet and sour at the same time. These starters were not so heavy that we didn't have room for our main courses, which I appreciated. For the entree, I had the White Miso Salmon, and the filet was so tender with a miso sauce that was to die for. The Jasmine rice that accompanied them mixed super well with everything too. My friend had the Chinese BBQ Chicken, and it was a large filet that was super flavorful (the bites I had), because it was absolutely coated in the BBQ sauce, and a very juicy filet, too. I would recommend either of the mains or starters that we picked for the evening set menu, based on our experience. As I mentioned, the dessert is not included in the set evening menu, but you can add it at the end - and my friend and I both did! She had the Asian Pear Sticky Toffee pudding, and it was so delectable - a toffee brownie type square with a large mound of buttery ice cream on top, and caramel and cinnamon to top it off. I had the Chocolate Hazelnut Pagoda, and it was a stunner! Literally a chocolate cake "dirt" on top of vanilla whipped pudding, with cherry ice cream on top and a hazelnut chocolate pagoda tree with cotton candy for the leaves. While that sounds awesome in itself, it also came with a cloud of dried ice "smoke" billowing out of it. So cool, and it definitely tuned a few heads when it arrived. So from the super cool and upscale ambiance, excellent service, and out of this world food - I definitely recommend Tattu for a special occasion, date night, or to take anyone you want to really impress!
