I went to this location today and waited about 4.5hrs. The individuals helping at the entrance were great. Unfortunately, certain individuals working behind the desk gives this place a 1 star. A little advice...instead of trying to find a reason to turn someone away, pay attention to the documents the customer hands you. It doesn't take much to stop, listen, pay attention, and READ. The last name on a birth certificate is, 9x out of 10, NOT going to match the last name of a married persons social security card! Do not try to send people to the social security office for things like this. ESPECIALLY when you have been handed a legal marriage certificate to show why the the last name of a 40+ yr olds birth certificate doesn't match the last name on the social security card. I can only imagine how many people have been turned away, after hours of waiting, due to this particular employee. I had to tell myself to breath and very slowly explain to this person how birth certificate, legal marriage certificate , and the social security office works. Instead of apologizing she had to feel the marriage license seal to make sure it was embedded in the document. Then told me she had to get it approved by her manager because it was a copy. I again had to explain, when you get married you can buy several notarized, legal copies, with the seal embedded in them and actual signatures on each copy, therefore it's a legal document. Not something I made a copy of, otherwise you wouldn't have been able to feel the embedded seal. This particular employee could've saved herself from a lot of embarrassment by simply taking her time and treating people the way she would like to be treated. read more

As of 11/15/2020, I rate Norco DMV 5 stars. I arrived at 6am with no appointment where about 20 people stood distancing before me. 15 minutes before opening there was staff coming by outside to do screening and enforce social distancing (staff express how serious they take distancing in order to stay open to the public). By opening time at 8am I was inside the DMV with my number waiting to be called and 15 minutes later I was done! That was easy. The staff here are pleasant and beautiful women. Norco DMV, thank you, thank you for being organized, efficient and kind. And the young black lady that helped me twice was so knowledgable, helpful and so kind. I went 2x both on a weekday. The 1st time, I got there at 3pm, thinking I should get in they close @ 5. While I was in line DMV team stated you may not get in because we close the door @ 4..Yikes I thought...but with lots of prayer I was the last person to get in. There was many people behind me.... The lady that helped me said that people get in line @ 5:30 am and wait in line. Man I said No way, that's crazy...So unfortunately I had to go back. So the 2nd time I went I checked the time on DMV web site and they said 9am. So since I'm a early bird anyway I got coffee and got there @ 6:15, because no way can there be a line if they open @ 9. I got there and the line was wrapped around the building 3 walls worth. I got in @ 10:30, everyone followed rules, brought chairs, social distance and waited patiently. I had a great experience here I had the pleasure of working with Christine/ Christina at window #11 and also victoria I can't remember her window number but both were super nice and very very helpful! I was able to get our truck registered and everything taken care of! They have an app which shows you where you are in line which is an awesome feature so you can sit in your car while you wait. I came around 10 o'clock and waited an hour and a half which is not bad at all keep up the good work guys! read more

The instructors for driving test here love to lie or find the tiniest things to fail you for. The instructor Angel ( the only one with a mask) compares everything to the freeway and says you have to go with the flow of traffic even if it's way over speed limit and nit picks the littlest things. The actual employees inside are nice though. read more

I usually choose to come to this DMV for years, but which ever employee works at window 19 is very rude and has a terrible attitude. Got my license renewed and was rude and had a bad demeanor the entire interaction. I understand people have bad days but I don't think she's suitable for this position in my opinion. What a surprise - rude employees at the DMV. You know it, you expect it, and it remains true. DMV and TSA can battle off for who can be the nastiest. I wanted to use some time off to get my Real ID out of the way. The Web site allows you to pre-fill an application, which is a convoluted mess that takes much more time and effort than it should. I had to try three times to upload documents, but they were finally pre-approved, and I made an appointment. I show up for my appointment, and the very rude clerk does not accept my pre-approved documents, because on one page that has an address, the rest of the page is blank (as they often put in windowed envelopes for security). In this high-tech, paperless day and age, I have very few documents around that have my address on it - documents are digital now. She would not accept my app-only Insurance card. If I had printed the screen before going, she would have taken that, but showing it on the app, it's somehow not real. I own my house, which it clearly states on one of the documents I gave her. Why should I need to jump through hoops to prove it's my address? I ask her why in the world they would "pre-approve" documents, then not accept them at the location (where I should have no reason to even display them, because I already uploaded them online). Her answer? "It's more convenient." Yes, I find being treated very rudely by a government employee whose salary I literally pay - and having over an hour of my time (and gas) completely wasted for nothing - to be extremely convenient. Terrible experience, as befits the DMV. We need a complete overhaul of our government systems. But these employees don't care, because they know you can't go anywhere else, so they can treat you any way they like. read more

This is the worst DMV (Norco) I've ever been to. Rude and snobbish people "work" here. At the check in counter (driving test) , without confirming your name and appointment time, the guy there rudely tells you sit and wait to be called. He kept calling other people's names and kept telling me to sitdown everytime I approached. After 1.5 hours I had to confront the guy to check my name on the list . Turns out my name wasn't even on the list due to some processing error. What a waste of time!.. Could've save 1.5 hour had he checked my name immediately. #$@#$#@!! read more

Ok, forget everything that you may have read already from other people that have left a negative review. I arrived around 1:30 PM to renew my drivers license and get a real ID. The line was short and I was able to check in and get a number right away, and enter the second line to get my documents screened to make sure I had the proper documentation to get a real ID. Both ladies, the one at the front where you check in, and the one that screens your documents were very courteous and helpful. Once I was screened and all my documents were verified, I only had to wait about an hour or so. Once my number was called and I went to the window that they designated for me to go to go to, my documents were screen a second time by very courteous lady, I was able to pay right away take my eye test and take my photograph right away. All, in all, not a bad experience it was actually quite expeditious. read more

What a spectacular DMV experience! Friendly workers. Extremely organized! Fast lines. Minimal waits! Went for a Real ID. Got there around 7:20. There was already a long line. Workers - friendly, nice women - were already out there working the line, making sure everyone had filled out forms and had the right documentation. One employee assured me things would go fast once they opened. They opened early. Everyone was masked. Social distancing was enforced. The lines were fast and the processes efficient. Don't know about other DMVs, but this one in Norco knows has figured out how to do it right. Thank you! read more

Everything Rick R said is exactly my same experience, except no eye exam for me. I was in and out, paid and done within 1 hour. No appt, got there at about 8:30 Friday morning. Truth I haven't been into a DMV office to conduct any business in at least 10 yrs. But I was pleasantly surprised and happy with my Norco DMV experience today. I will also add... I completed my online real id application online before I went to DMV. I have heard the horror stories about DMV and have experienced horrible service at the old Rancho Cucamonga office yrs and yrs ago. BAD EXPERIENCE my child went to take the driving test.. I was waiting on the bench with my ear phones on. I was asked to leave by one of the examiners. supposedly you're not allowed to wait for the tester on those outside benches. Didn't argue with the woman. I asked another examiner where I was allowed to sit he said those benches. He even asked if I told her I was waiting for them to return. Yes, I told him. If that's case DMV maybe you should have sign saying benches are pacifically for driving testers only. Don't understand if you are taking a test why you would be sitting at one of those benches. If you happen be there on week day mornings, you'll probably bump into this nasty older lady who thinks she runs the place, and is the most unhelpful, rude, and short tempered human being (or is she?) who'll ruin your day. If she can't find your online appointment, she'll tell you to stand in line or go home. If she finds you didn't bring all the paper work, she'll tell you to stand in line or go home. If she finds some paper work is missing, she'll tell you to find it somewhere in the corner and stand in line... or go home. Their system is unstable, goes down constantly, and is "super slow".. per ladies behind the window. There is no one around to seek help, or the one you ask questions to, is clueless. Everyone's just acting busy with "tard" faces eager to go home. On occasions, I'll witness DMV's very own employee yelling at people in line herding them like cows and chickens.. The driving test instructor (older man) is a very unforgiving prick. He would fail you in a new york minute for a slightest mistake, or fails you at the end with no explanations when you thought all was going well? I believe he thoroughly enjoys "failing" people and smirks to himself. Thank god I didn't have to go back to this hell hole with my elderly relatives lately. I'm not sure where all the rave reviews coming from, they must have replaced some staff or they're simply discriminatory against elderly people. read more

So went in Friday 1/29/21. Daughter was taking her permit written test and I decided to apply for a Real ID Driver's License since I was already there. The DMV is not taking any appointments due to COVID. I went in with the mindset that it was the DMV, under COVID restrictions, and that everything was going to take longer than usual. You can't go in thinking you are gonna get super lucky and get in and out of there quickly. Anyway, you have to wait outside in a line. Don't forget your mask. A worker will walk by, check your temp and ask if you have any symptoms. If you pass, you will get a cool green sticker showing you have been checked. As you get closer to the front of the line, the worker at the front will check you in and give you a yellow DMV card. Daughter went in and started the process to take her written test (to the left after you walk inside). I was checked in and went to the right. Since I was getting a real ID driver's license, the nice lady checked my documents to make sure I had everything. She double checked and then organized everything. If you were missing something in your paperwork, I think they stop you here. So go to the DMV website and make sure you have everything you need for a Real ID. I used my actual SS card, unexpired US passport, 2 utility bills in my name with same address that will be on my driver's license. After that, I was sent to the other side of the building to complete the Real ID process, using a DMV computer terminal. The male worker who organized where everyone went was badass: he was super helpful and super nice, constantly checking on you to make sure everything was okay. He also was checking on my daughter to make sure she was alone in her booth and was not cheating on her test. I spent several minutes completing the real ID app. By the way, if you completed the real ID application via the DMV website prior, I think this step goes way faster for you. I did not, but it did not take very long to complete the application at the DMV. Once done, you are given a number, like G-171. You then exit the building and go wait outside or in your car, your choice. During the application you give the DMV your cell phone. They will text you when your number is called. It took about 20 minutes for my number to be called. Once called, you go directly inside again to the window that is given. You don't have to wait in line this time. I walked up to the window, gave him my documents, and barely passed the eye chart test. Getting old. Once completed, I was sent to the picture line around the corner. This took about 5 mins total. Took pic, was given a receipt and temp paper DL, and told me my DL will arrive in about 2 weeks. Total time from parking to going thru all the stations, to finally leaving, was about 1 hr 30 mins. Not bad for a Friday. 3 stars, cause there is always room for improvement, but I was expecting the worst and to be in line for a very long time. The workers were all friendly and not at all disgruntled. COVID limits how many people can be inside the building so if things were normal, I could see how the workers could get all bent out of shape. Last time i went to the DMV, it was so crowded, there was nowhere to sit. Sorry for the long review. Go middle of the week, early, and you should have the same experience. Trick is to have all the documents you need to make your process go as quickly as possible. read more

Had an appointment which sped up the line waiting. It seems the last 2 times I've been here around 11:45 or 12 ish, the line has been pretty non existent. Workers seem friendly enough. If you're indecisive when taking the written drivers tests, ask for the paper test as opposed to the computer test, so that way you can go back and change your answers. I am probably the only person who will rave about the DMV. This location was AMAZING!! I told the woman at the counter right away about my situation as I am a Canadian coming and needing to exchange my license. So being that I needed to switch my license she looked it up to see if I had all the proper documents before she made me wait for awhile. She quickly searched it up and confirmed that I had all the correct documents. She gave me very clear instructions on what to do next. I then went through the DMV process and paid the fee as well completed my eye exam and my photo the same day. Had a GREAT experience here with a young man who helped fix a long time problem with my trailer plates. He walked us through the entire process, waited while we filled out the forms and continued walking back and forth with his manager until our issue was resolved. This DMV location was badly mismanaged on October 1, 2014. I was there to get a form to fill out to replace a lost driving license... They don't have the forms downloadable from their site, and when I got there obtaining the form required waiting in this long line. It wasn't just in a rack in the corner. But what really made me upset was that after I took this picture a security guard harassed me claiming (wrongly, see Fordyce v. City of Seattle) that photography wasn't allowed. That's applicable in a private office building, not the public areas of a public office building. I got frustrated and left and I wish I could give the place zero stars. read more

For some reasons I've been here 3 times in the past six months. All walk in. Waiting time is about 1 to 2 hours, depending on what time you go in. If you arrive at 7:30am you will probably get everything done by 8:30. But if u arrive at 11am or later, 2 hr waiting is expected. Without appointment long waiting is totally understandable. But I have to say the staff (at least those I met) are all very efficient and friendly! Probably the best dmv I've been to. read more

After 12 years of renewing my license by mail, I finally got the dreaded letter telling me I needed to go to a DMV, take a new picture, and take an eye test. Ugh. I went online and made an appointment for the Norco DMV. They were able to take me in less than a week. I showed up about 10 minutes prior to my appointment time. It blew my mind how many people went to the DMV without an appointment! The line was halfway around the building! Since I had an appointment I was able to bypass that mess, go right inside the building and stand in the appointment line. There was only one person in front of me. The people who work here all have attitudes. I get it, they probably deal with idiots and irrational people all day long, but they could at least be kind of nice when I smile and say hi! My visit was quick though, which was good. I was in the first line less than five minutes, then was told to go wait for my number to be called. I waited about ten minutes, dealt with the next rude lady for maybe another five, and then went and had my picture taken. I was in and out in less than thirty minutes. Even though this was pretty painless, it still sucks to have to go. Hopefully I don't hear from them again for another 12 years! read more
