We couldn't have picked a better home inspector than Lars at Nordic Home Inspection. We had the opportunity to hear Lars present at the Fargo-Moorhead Homebuyers Class and were so impressed with his level of knowledge and how well he explains things so anyone can understand them. When we arrived at the inspection (about 1.5 hours after it started to give Lars space), he was about finishing up and really friendly towards us while he continued working. Once he was finished, he went through all the photos he took and explained each one to us, even though he would send a much more detailed report later that evening. He was willing to answer all our questions and gave his honest opinions about the state of the home we were buying. He even highlighted small things like paint chipping on the siding and encouraging us to check with the seller to see if they had a transferable warranty so we could follow up with the installation company. About 3 hours later we received a highly comprehensive and detailed inspection report that outlined EVERYTHING Lars found during the inspection, along with photos of the house and diagrams showing how issues could be addressed. Overall we were beyond excited to work with Lars and Nordic Home Inspection and we weren't disappointed! We would happily recommend them to anyone buying a house or just wanting a routine inspection. We heard nothing but good things about Lars and everyone at Nordic Home Inspection. They were very easy to schedule and walked is through how everything would work beforehand. When I showed up on site early, Lars and Mike were already there, ready to go. While they were waiting, they completed the entire exterior inspection. They encouraged me to follow them around, to ask questions (which they provided very helpful answers), and checked in with me during the inspection to show me pictures of what they found and to explain their findings in detail but at a user friendly level. At the end, they summarized their findings, ask me if I had any questions, and told me if I thought of anything once they left, to contact them so everything was explained correctly. Appointment was at 3:45pm, lasted 2 hours, and had our detailed inspection report 3 hours later! Very polite, very professional, and one of the most trusted service providers around. Wonderful experience with Nordic. Set it up on their user-friendly website and had a confirmation call within an hour on a Sunday! Day of inspection they were there prior to arranged time and had started on outside issues. Due to size of the house we actually had multiple inspectors and boy were they thorough. First of all, initial communication with Nordic was via email which was very quick and efficient. We knew we had a Radon problem and one day later Lars came to our home. He arrived exactly when he said he would. He is friendly, knowledgeable and clearly explained our options for mitigation. He suggested what he felt was the best option for us and we agreed. Lars was the home inspector. He missed the outlet above the stove that wasn't grounded. And then, with the heating tank, there was an extra plate that one would have to remove before accessing the tank, he played it off like it was a big deal, so he didn't inspect it at all... after we bought the house, the heating tank flooded 2 months later.
