We purchased a 25 year old home and engaged the contractors that essentially built the place. The heating and air company was underwhelming to say the least. We then engaged a large local company and were also underwhelmed. Ryan Brothers is top shelf. Ryan Brothers has demonstrated again and again that they can properly handle our more complicated heating and air system. Recently Ryan Brothers essentially overhauled our entire heating and air. From the proposal to the many questions I had to the installation, the communication and care have been top notch. Every home has a personality - how things work and operate. Ryan Brothers quickly caught on to some of the key nuances of our home that other vendors missed or ignored. I called a few plumbers trying to get a bid to know how much it would cost. I traded a few calls with Legacy and was given a bid of 300-500 dollars to install a non RO system. John the service manager gave that number. To be specific they would need to come out and look at it which would cost 60.00 but would be taken off the price once they installed it. The young, seemingly inexperienced plumber met me and looked at the sink (in a new home with plug ins available as well as plenty of space). He looked at it for about 5 minutes and had no idea what to do then went to his truck to call John. He came back about 40 minutes later and the bid was 2200.00 if they provided the system and 800.00 if we provided it. Then added the two together so the bid was 3000.00. I made it clear that I would not have scheduled them to come out if it wasn't going to be in the 300-500 range. I spoke to both the person who gave me the bid and John who authorized the bid and both remembered and validated that they had given me those numbers and Hohn did not tell me there were any reasons/complications for it to have gone up so high. He also still insisted on collecting the 60.00 and told me they couldn't give me an itemized bid because they don't do that when I requested one. In the end I got it installed by another plumber for 325.00 which was the low end of Legacy's original bid. I may only be out $60.00 but their unethical and unprofessional practices really made me feel taken advantage of. We were looking for a plumber that we could use for other projects and trust is one of the top things I need in anyone who I deal with and I was hugely disappointed. I also spoke with John on more than one occasion and gave him the opportunity to make this right and he did not.

I had this company come to my home, 75 miles from Fargo, to check for a serious sewer smell/leak…read more They said there would be a mileage for travel, but when they charged me $1,250 to drive to my home, spent an hour snooping around, put some duct tape on one pipe, and FAILED to find the problem even though I had the ceiling open because there were stains when I bought the house and I removed that part, not wanting to seal it up until I was sure the plumbing was correct. Then they said they would come back and do some work, it might even take two more days: at $1250 for travel. They charged me $1550 for that first visit, $300 for the two of them to snoop around. I paid them, because I honor my bills, but I HIGHLY recommend you AVOID these guys. They'll probably delete this review, but i will leave it elsewhere where they can't. I called another company, they were very professional, came and found the problem within minutes, returned within days with all the supplies and buttoned it up within hours. No problems since. And it cost me LESS than it would have been to pay these guys for travel, ie. close to $4,000 to get them here three days, AND it cost less than this company quoted me for the actual repairs. So I wasted $1,550 on these guys and was saved additional thousands by getting someone who knew what they were doing and were fair and conscientious in their work ethic.
