I debated on writing this because of the type of business and the personal nature, but I decided that someone out there may need some assistance and maybe this will help them. Everyone at some point has issues or problems they need some assistance. Norm Dasenbrook has really helped me out a lot. He's been able to assist me in dealing with my issues and try to control those demons that come out when you're not in a good place. If you need help, I would highly recommend giving him a chance. read more

A little bio about myself is I'm almost thirty I'm a former U.S Marine. I currently am a construction worker. ( BTW no I do not have P.T.S.D) I have never seen a therapist! Up until now literally. I 6months ago had the typical "STEREOTYPE/STIGMA" about talking to people especially a therapist or counselor. You all know what I mean talking to someone means (YOUR MENTALY WEAK/NOT STRONG!) My life 6months ago sort of... Not sort of it defiantly spiraled out of control ( me being a typical person needing control) and the usual average " JOE" so to say. I had many issues going on basically I was losing it and I truly needed help then a close friend confined in me he has spoken to a therapist before and he recommend I talk to someone. So after a week or so of searching which sucked. I stumbled on NORM!!!! I really am not very religious by no means... BUT! I will say this.I was definitely lucky and/or I was ment to find NORM. Now I want to Yell it to the world!!!!!! Because NORM has truly helped me in more ways then anyone could imagine ESPECIALLY myself! I have had multiple issues and NORM simplified life as a whole he gives you the input you may or may not want to hear but you definitely need to hear! NORM helps you take life one day at a time and control what you can. NORM is GREAT in ANY ASPECT but he does sort of specialize in "Cognitive Behavior" and OHHH does that help anyone/everyone!...Trust me I know. That all has helped me to stop or slow my "freting" so to say especially over what I/you cant control and how to try to adjust your reaction to everything....Long story short I truly OWE NORM so much more then anyone can imagine and my Fiancé would agree how much its helped when our personal problems weren't really even the issue at all I sort of used it at the excuse for my issues especially with her even though she didn't know/no on knew I was talking to someone until I talked to her and let her know I even apologized for taking out what wasn't her fault on her( trust me im not one to do that).So again I mean it whole heartedly NORM DASENBROOK has helped more then anyone could and/or probably would, and the best thing about him is he leads you in the right direction! Two months ago myself and NORM realized we would only have two months left together. Do to some crappy circumstances it is what it is but....The point is he guided me to another option I had available he continues to keep in touch which by all mean he doesn't have to do and he gets no monetary value for it...trust me I don't have it! But to him it seems like it doesn't matter he just cares! HOW MANY CAN SAY THE IN THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM........ and now I have a new therapist He said was ok and let me know through email to please keep in touch he is the most genuine individual when I've dealt with in my present situation and maybe even perhaps my life...... when the day comes I can come back to him. Or I can pay it forward. I will for the rest of my life! Even just to talk about minor issues Norm is the most genuine caring guy your not just another dollar in his pocket you are someone and you MATTER. If you are looking for help or just someone to talk to don't waste your time don't bother/DO NOT HESITATE!! give NORM or even his partner a call... Even if you need to contact me through yelp feel free I feel I owe it to him. Because I truly mean this he has helped me get passed the STIGMA and get help. And if your reading this make the call do whats needed it may not fix any of your real alignments but it will help get your mind right.......ONE LAST THING I NEVER REALLY CRIED LIKE EVERYONE THINKS SOMETIMES YOU SMILE YOU LEAVE HAPPY YOU LEAVE WITH WEIGHT OFF YOUR CHEST AND YOU LEAVE WITH PEACE OF MIND WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR?.....TRUST ME THERES NO MAGICAL PILL SURGICAL/PHARMACUTICAL..PERIOD! I couldn't drive or be in the car for any amount of time but after working with him for only four sessions I was able to travel to Pittsburgh and spend a great weekend. Ever since then I've been able to do things that I never thought I would be able to do without medication's his methods have also helped me quit smoking, reduce my drinking. I do not have enough good things to say about Dr. Ryan I am not particularly comfortable with talking about myself and my life but he's just wonderful. He makes you feel so at ease; at the end of the session I would always feel like I was just talking to a friend the entire time. If there's some thing that's bothering you about yourself, something you think you could never change or something you feel like you can't control call him I can't say enough good things. I have also referred him to a couple of friends that had the same response. If you feel like you have a problem, are drowning, have anything in your life that you want to change call him. I've seen hypnotists before but he's so different, it worked on a different level. He not only deals with the hypnotism aspect of the sessions, but he really deals with the core issues that are causing your problems. In 30 years of therapy and medication. I've never had one person help me so much.

Torn about how to rate this place. The care I receive is good--when I can get it in a timely…read moremanner. There needs to be a sick call hour. There needs to be a women's clinic. But more than anything else, there needs to be retention within the VA employment system. There are many good providers here at the Rockford Clinic--MANY. But the turn over is also vast and as a result of that, timely care doesn't happen. (For example--I had back to back illnesses from Thanksgiving and into mid-January. I couldn't get an appointment for the most recent one for nearly 2wks out. I'm keeping it even though I feel I'm mostly recovered, because if I relapse, it'll be another two weeks! This is stupid because I am aware I'm taking an appointment I may not need in fear I may need it and can't get it--so I have to wonder how frequent this occurs and if this same mindset is what kept me from getting in when I actually needed it? I digress, I went to Prompt Care @ OSF. It did the job, but sheesh!) I'm still confused as to how this pharmacy works. If I come from an appointment, either in person or via phone/video, I can pick up at this location. I can also pick up here if Prompt Care sends it here. But there are some instances they send to Walgreens (not CVS anymore) and then other times I get it in the mail. Mail is regular, routine meds. But then also weirdly enough, prompt care had to send some meds to Walgreens as well--so I had to go to two pharmacies. The last thing you wanna do when you're sick... is anything really, but for sure managing meds and just getting them. I wish this system was a bit more streamlined and easier to navigate. Front desk and lab are always awesome! I need an app for labs, which I prefer to VA Oceanside where I had to get there at 0700 and wait in a line or risk not getting in at all. Parking is easy, and they salt the walk ways. There's an overhang for drop off service.
