Terrible experience getting my phone's screen replaced. The guy told me he would order the screen and it should be in the next day - even asked me if I wanted to leave my phone there. It was actually more than a week before the screen came in. When I dropped off my phone, he said it would be ready at 4:00. I had to call them the next day when I still hadn't heard from them. They were supposed to put on a screen cover and when I went to pick up my phone, they hadn't put it on and they said the only guy who could do it had just left. Then I get the phone home and realize there's a black blotch showing up on my screen. When I go back the next day to get the cover, I tell them about it. They say I can take a ten percent discount to leave it as is or they will replace the screen again. They say they have another screen there this time. I leave the phone there, hoping they'll get to it first thing the next day. I call as soon as they open to make sure they are on task and that I'll have my phone back before they close. They say the screen they have is actually the wrong one and they'll need to order another one. I drive back across town to get my phone back. This is getting super old. When the part comes in, I drop my phone off again and again they say it'll be ready around 4:00. When I haven't heard from them by the time the place is getting close to closing, I call them. I ask if my phone is ready. They say yes. I ask if they put the screen protector on. They say no. Of course not... But at least they're able to get that done and I'm finally able to get my fully repaired phone back just before they close. In all, I had to drive over there SEVEN times. For one screen. In a pandemic. They wound up not charging me as much as they had quoted and not charging for the screen protector. I'm assuming this was a discount for all the headaches, but it could also just be more incompetence... read more

I have taken two devices to them and a $35 charge later with nothing to show for it! These guys flat out rejected putting a battery into my phone so that it could be recognized by my computer so I could see what I could do with the phone. Even though it took two (2) trips for the same problem...due to a bad replacement part the first trip...I am giving them five stars for customer service and no nonsense attitude. Upfront with costs, repair procedures and friendly while doing it. Just under a $100 to fix an iPhone 6 with a cracked screen after an hours worth of work. Works for me. Brought in my Samsung Galaxy to have my cracked screen replaced. First they put on the wrong color screen (navy instead of black) and left the film on the inside of the replacement screen which made everything foggy. Said it was just the screen and nothing they could do. Went in again when they got a black screen in so they could swap blue for black, and had to return twice for them to re-glue the screen down since it was such a shotty job. There was a pressure point in the middle of the screen too. Screen ended up cracking again within a couple months so it was a complete waste of money. And wasn't compensated for their mistakes. I took in an iPad mini to have screen replaced. Picked it up and the home button wasn't working. They said it happens and was just a bad screen. New screen was put on and had same issues. They checked it out and said nothing was wrong, worked fine. I am now stuck with an iPad that the screen won't let me swipe and home button doesn't work. I don't recommend this place. read more

My iPhone screen (front and back) shattered and I was able to drop my phone off with ease and pick it up a few hours later. Unfortunately, they had a bad batch of screens come in. I ended up having to take back my phone to get it repaired. I live in TX now and it went bad again on my trip down. After the poor service I received at the Verizon Store, I headed over to Normal Gadgets. They were able to repair my phone and did it quickly. And Verizon said they couldn't help me.....except to suggest buying a new phone. I will take a $60 repair over a $600 new phone (since my check tract wasn't up) any day. I hope I don't need to use Normal Gadgets services again, however, if I do, I know I will receive great customer service and get the repairs done right. read more

--Absolutely terrible customer service-- I'm not someone who ever writes reviews or complains about customer service but my experience with Normal gadgets changed that. So I had a simple problem, my Ipod input jack was messed up. I could only hear audio from one ear. It's a pretty common problem I believe. After a bit of research I discovered Normal Gadgets seemed to have the lowest price at 60 dollars, which still seems very high to fix a simple problem but it's cheaper than buying a new one. I don't live in Bloomington, but figured it was still worth the trip. So I get there and they say they have to order the part. I'm a little disappointment but its understandable. They say it will be a week max before everything is done. About 3 weeks go by and I don't hear anything, not even an update. So I call back to see if they forgot about me. They say it is taking longer than expected to get a part from China and they don't know when they will have it. They say they will let me know as soon as possible. About another 3 weeks or more go by. I call and they seem to have forgotten about it, for a while saying something like there was a mix up in the serial numbers but they are back working on it. I'm finally in town for work about 2 months after I brought it in the first time. I'm ready to just take it back unfixed if its not ready....and it's not. But they say it will be ready in a few days. I figure its still cheaper than buying a new one. So they miss the deadline again but at least call me this time, saying its ready. Hooray its finally done. ...Then I get a call later that day saying there is a problem with the hold button and it will be ready by such and such date. They miss that deadline and give me a call back. So I finally get a chance to drive down there and pick it up to find even more disappointment. By the way, the guy working the front desk seemed sympathetic enough and gave me a 10% of card last time I was in the store. So I come to pick it up and the audio works fine, but I notice the top right part of the screen is burnt out, and not showing, obviously where they tried to do something with the input jack. I told them about it. The front desk guy went to go back to talk to whom I'm guessing is the owner in the back. He relays to me the guy says it was like that when I brought it in. That's incorrect and even if it was so you would think they would take product description before hand to avoid situations like these. So they give me another 5% off, wow that's one or two dollars. By the way they offered to fix the screen, but I'm not waiting another 2-3 months for that to happen. So I've had it for one day now...the hold button has already broken and the body is coming apart. Terrible worksmanship. I'm beginning to wonder if they have any idea what they are doing with Ipods over there. So all in all I waited about 3 months for a simple input jack repair. Received 15% off for waiting times, and damages. I will never be back there again. I don't know if they do better in other areas, but definitely won't go there for Ipod repairs. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. So disappointed by this business. Went here to get a screen repair on an iPhone 11 ProMax. They did the repair and I picked it up at 4:30 PM. By 6 PM, there was internal screen damage that looked like black bleeding through on the screen. My husband had been at work and had barely been on his phone. There was no way he could has physically caused any damage to it because it was on a charger and then in his pocket. Now the phone is barely functional and we are out $260. I went in to them the following morning to get it replaced with their 30 day warranty and was told they can't fix it for me because there was physical damage that we "must have caused". Absolute BS!!!!! I said It had been in a pocket and barely used and they told me we must have put the case on incorrectly or bumped into something with it. Nothing like that happened. Truly disgusting that people like this steal your money. Awful people and they were very short and rude to me when I had to go into them because of THEIR mistake. Extremely unprofessional. Would never recommend anyone to here. You pay for the quality so take it to Best Buy or somewhere that'll actually do a good job for you. read more

This place was great at getting my phone repaired quickly. However, the customer service is horrible! I was trying to get help with how my phone could have gotten a run through the screen. I have a screen protector and case on my phone. I was holding it from the pop socket and lightly hit my steering wheel from behind. I'm guessing this caused the damage. When I asked why this could have happened when I didn't drop it Terry the manager told me anything could break glass. He told me glass doesn't break on his own and then asked if I watched the screen cracked. He didn't even let me speak when he first got on the phone he interrupted me and asked my name so he could look up my record and read it back to me. I asked why he was being rude when I was asking for help as he is more experienced with this an me. He said he wasn't being rude and said I just wasn't being told what I want to hear. He spoke to me like I was dumb and was so unhelpful. I just asked his name and told him to have a great day since I could tell I wasn't getting anywhere. He took a long deep breath and hung up on me. I brought my phone in for repair after dropping it and breaking the glass screen. Repair was completed the same day, but the new glass was loose and had some play. The next day dust particles began to collect under the screen. I returned the phone and they cleaned and attempted to repair the screen again. Upon picking the phone up, I noticed the bottom half of the phone was sealed and flush with the casing, but the upper half was still loose. I was told that I should not expect fresh from the factory results and that the sealant or sealant tape used is not the same as the manufacturer. Based on that response and the fact that the phone began to collect dust again a short time later, I brought the phone to a different repair location. Fortunately, the phone was repaired and properly sealed and set in the housing. I personally would not recommend Normal Gadgets. read more

Maybe there was just miscommunication but I NEVER got my follow up call. I have had to call them 3-4 times now for my phone repair. They gave me the wrong information, have had the phone for 3 weeks now and didn't even completely fix it. They are great to talk to in person but you better be ready to keep stopping in the store and talking to them face to face if you have more than just a shattered screen. Should have just went through insurance because they have turned this into a nightmare! read more

I am 50/50 on this place. I definitely understand the 1 star reviews. I had my phone repaired here and they did a horrible job. The screen light was coming out from around the bezel on the front of the phone, and the screen was raised about a millimeter above where it was prior. I was quite upset but had left the store in a hurry and hadn't noticed when they handed it back to me and had me sign that everything was a-ok. About 2 months later the screen broke, and I brought it back here for whatever reason, and it was quick and a really nice job. I think they even replaced the dented front cover of my phone as well as the screen. So with one 1 star and 1, 4 star experience here, I will give them the rounded down 2 stars. I don't enjoy feeling like I'm gambling taking something in here to get fixed. read more

They fixed my broken digitizer and LCD, and I was very pleased with the speed. Their prices are a little steep, but that's ok. The worst part about it was that upon receiving my repaired phone, my Touch ID no longer worked. I returned to the store and they would not replace it and said they couldn't fix it. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 9. I cracked the screen in the right bottom corner. Normal Gadgets was the closest place that would work on my phone per my warranty information. Bloomington is 43 miles from where I live. Upon first contact, I had to drive to Bloomington to have them look at my phone. After they looked at it and ordered the part to fix it, I drove a second time to Bloomington to have them "fix" it. After I picked my phone up from the initial "fix", I noticed a popping on my screen. I had gone to grab my phone out of my purse and when I put it down, by thumb came off the screen and there was a popping or sticking sound. Hardly any force whatsoever placed on the screen, and it was popping. My husband called NG and explained to them what was happening. They replied with "it's possible that there may still be some glass in there." Uh, what? When a glass screen is replaced with a glass screen, it doesn't "pop". So we drove up there for a third time to have them inspect the popping. We had asked if the screen was an OEM, and they confirmed it was. They said they would order a new part from a different vendor. Uh, what? If it's OEM it doesn't matter who you order the part from, it's OEM. But sure! We'll try it. So after the new part was in from the new vendor, we drove back to Bloomington for a fourth time. We left the phone overnight so that they could install the new part. The man at the counter told my husband he had never seen this happen on a Note 9 before. We then drove to Bloomington a fifth time to pick up the phone and LOW AND BEHOLD! It's STILL popping. When they called my husband to tell him my phone was done, the person he talked to said this is a common problem with replacement screens for the Note 9. Wow. So I will not be using or referring this place to anyone. I don't think they really cared because it was a warranty deal. read more

Spend 212$ on a new iphone6s screen... they have a 30 day warranty... after 45 days the screen stopped working, brought it in. They reconnected the screen. That lasted about 23 hours... brought it back in.. another 150$ at their cost to graciously put another screen on it. Hadn't been dropped, thrown, stepped on, but the brand new screen goes out??!! Won't be back since there quality on new parts is that low to the point it only lasts a little over a month. read more

When I visited my phone carrier, they wanted to charge me a $200 deductible and overnight me a new phone and I'd have to send back my old one (which I know they would easily repair and then resell for even more profit). I searched for screen repairshops in B-N and these guys popped up. They had my phone fixed in an hour and a half for about $70 less after a coupon. Then I used my savings to go buy a real phone case so it doesn't happen again! Got to keep my own phone, saved money, and quick service. read more

**Let the Buyer Beware** This shop does not guarantee its parts or service. Had my Iphone 5S screen replaced in January. A defective screen was installed. When I got it back it looked off center, but it worked so I didn't day anything. It began coming unglued as the weather warmed up. They told me the screen was bad after unsuccessfully attempting to repair it twice. The techs told me there was nothing wrong with my phone, it was the screen. They said they would replace the screen when they had time the following Monday. But they have since rescinded that offer due to not being within 30 days of the repair. When I told the manager the screen had recently chipped because it wasn't flush with the phone, he said they wouldn't replace a chipped screen anyway because it voids the warranty. Spend the extra money and let Apple fix your phone. At least go to the Apple authorized repair shop in Bloomington. You will have no recourse if the repair fails. Hopefully this review won't be deleted. read more

I had an issue regarding Bluetooth, GPS, and wifi. All of which were working very poorly. I brought my device in and explained my situation and what was supposed to be 2 days ended up taking 2 hours for my phone to be fixed! Shoutout to the tech, Sergio, and Terri for some great advice. Fantastic job! Although I was a little disappointed. I went into the shop and told Terri about the specific part, the wifi and Bluetooth antenna, that needed to be replaced due to prior research from myself. I told him about a previous drop in the toilet with my phone and he had suggested I do the liquid treatment and with his knowledge with the product (iPhone 6) I took his advice. I paid him $35 at that moment for the liquid treatment. I went in the next day to get my fixed phone and I was told that the part they replaced turned out to be the wifi and Bluetooth antenna I had originally told them about, I was charged $45 for the labor/part. I am only disappointed because I was charged $35 for the liquid treatment that wasn't even given to my phone. Later finding out the treatment can deal permanent damage to my phone, which I wasn't told about at first visit. But, at the end of the day, I'm happy. Sergio fixed the problem I've had for 6 weeks for only $80. Apple would've charged me two, maybe three times that. I will definitely visit them again for any issues with my phone. Terri, if you read this, I suggest you notify your customers if you're going to tack on an additional charge for an additional part and labor. I did appreciate the quick service though. read more

I took my ipad in to have the screen replaced. They took so many notes about anything that may be scratched or any damage at all. When I went to pick it up, the top right corner of the case had a damaged place that was peeled back as though someone had taken a tool and pried it back. I mentioned that this was not damaged when I brought it in. The owner got very aggressive and said they do not do things like that. He did not ask who had worked on it. Did not offer to look into it. Just dismissed it and refused to do anything about it. I said, "your employee looked this over very thouroughly when I came in and made notes of any damage." Do you see a note about this? This was not a subtle scratch. It was peeled back on the corner. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager and owner. Unfortunately, I had already paid in full. Be sure to take pictures of your device before turning it over to them. I left feeling very defeated. read more

In addition, Normal Gadgets refuse further service to repair their mistakes or repair their inferior part, Apple will not touch the device after a non-authorize dealer opens the personal device. Prepare to be out of the money for repair and a broken usable device. Another fact, Normal Gadgets gives all positive comments on YEP or Facebook 25% off the cost of service as on the time stamp of this post. This policy is posted at the counter of the store. As far as the quality of service, I took my device to Normal Gadgets to repair a cracked screen. Even though the device screen was cracked, the device worked perfectly. Normal Gadget agreed to fix the screen and two days later, the device was ready. Normal Gadgets did not informed me of any other issues with my device. So, I got to the store, the clerk had me wait for 30 minutes while they suggested again a fix to a nice woman's phone for the 3rd time. Her device broke every time after Normal Gadgets repaired it . So I checked my device, swiped the screen, logged in to the device, and everything seemed ok. When I got home, the touch screen did not work. I hovered my handed over the screen, every app popped up as though I physically touched the screen. After the device was on for more than the first minute check at the store, I notice a crack forming around the power button. The initial crack was at the top of the device, away from the power button. Unlike the initial crack, I could feel the shard glass, this crack was in the glass screen (internal), the screen was smooth. That meant to me, inferior parts. The first business day, I took the device back to the store, the clerk told me, he will not fix my device, because I could have done something to the device to cause the screen to crack **internally** and malfunctioned the touch screen. Plus he informed me, my camera didn't work and my LCD is damage. I told him, there are no signs of impact on the new screen. How could I damage the screen without using force of any kind. I also told the clerk, the camera worked perfectly and the LCD was functioning when I dropped off the device. The clerk yelled at me, refused to talk to me after 5 minutes and then called the police. I wait for the police, but no one came. I took the device to Apple and they informed me, because I took the device to an unauthorized dealer that used non-Apple parts, they're unable to repair my device. The only mistake I made in this situation is trying to save a few bucks and should have paid the premium to get the device fixed correctly. I plan to take additional action again Normal Gadgets. However, if you want you device fixed correctly, take the device to the manufacturer or an authorized dealer. read more
