That said, a friend of mine strongly recommended IVme, and I'm so glad she did. The calming, welcoming vibe here is great to start. It's giving med-spa with the overall aesthetic. I was greeted by the receptionist and given water while I waited. Kayleigh, the nurse injector I met with, was so so great. She made me feel at ease, walked me through the process/any potential questions, and -give my past experience - even broke down the different types of botox and what she'd be using for me specifically. To me, the service itself is of course important, but I also just notice and appreciate when the person providing the service just really feels trusting, and like they care. Personally, I only get units in my forehead and find it to be pretty painless (quick pokes), so I can't speak to other areas for injectables. Pleasant, relaxing, & fairly priced. I'll look forward to the results as they set in over the next week or two. Will report back!

There is a full consultation with honest travel tips to stay healthy and a full explanation of options, side effects, etc. I thought I had to do research before I went, but their thorough but simple online portal that you create before your appointment made Laura incredibly knowledgeable about my travel and able to anticipate my questions/ concerns. The packet of information with travel tips as well as the low down on each vaccine was helpful for future reference too. Second, they (Laura) are truly looking out for you as a traveler. She made recommendations based on future travel and not just this one trip, which will save me time and money in the end. I didn't feel as though she was trying to get me to spend more money, but simply thinking of what is needed for my health/comfort and that's it. If you are at all nervous or new to vaccinations or unsure of what to get, it is 100% worth paying the extra money and gambling if your insurance will take anything later to go to Passport Health. I was the only person in the Restorative Yoga class, but the instructor was very sweet and even gave me some stretches and things to try outside of class on my own since my lower back had been bothering me. I love that they also incorporate meditation into their practice. It was just what I needed to start my day. Oh they also have massage too!

So I gave up on traditional medicine (which is funny for me to say, acupuncture is absolutely traditional, all depends on where you come from) and decided to see Robin Anderson at A&OMS. I saw her over the course of weeks and months and to my absolute amazement, she made me feel way better. It took some work and it was a weekly need for me, I had lived with a headache for 15 years of my life, so the time needed did not surprise me. It, very unfortunately, got too expensive for me (my health insurance sucks and does not cover it, despite the fact I work for an insurance company), but after about 3 months of weekly visits I had a good 6 months of relief, something I didn't ever get prior to seeing her. I still try and go here and there, but my insurance still doesn't cover it so I can't go anywhere near as much as I want. I am needle paranoid, but she's perfectly gentle with hers. She gave me massages that made me want to cry then and there, but the relief afterwards was so worth it. The office is nice and really comfy, Robin is great and personable. I always got the feeling that she actually cared which isn't something you can expect in any sort of medical experience anymore. If money were no object, or my insurance covered this, I'd still be there every week without fail. For people who are at their wits end with some sort of pain, you need to go here. When all the pills, doctors and scans add up, and you still don't have any relief, Robin is probably going to help you, I know she did that for me. And she did it in spades.

My intention was to get a dermaplane facial, however once I arrived and the facialist, Reiko, took a look at my skin and she had different plans for me! She warned me away from dermaplanning due to the nature that my skin is in right now. I really appreciated her walking me through all of alternative options customized to my skin's needs. I can do all the research I want, but at the end of the day a professional's opinion is certainly valuable. She ended up giving me chemical peal facial, which was fantastic. The process was cooling and relaxing, and took about 45 minutes total. Reiko was kind enough to sooth my skin with an extra treatment at the end, as we had the time (and I needed it). As with most spa treatments, the process is a bit pricey, but I truly look at as an investment in my skin's health. My overall experience made me confident about my skin's future and I look forward to another session with Reiko!
