The whole staff at American Realty was very helpful and dealing with an agent (Steve) that was from the US and spoke English was very helpful. Prices in Playa have gone up a lot since I started vacationing there about 10 years ago so I chose to purchase a new but lower priced town home in the Caribbean Living development. It's in the suburbs about 2 miles from the beach and the Paradise model was advertised as $130,000 including all costs and furnishings. They walked me through the process and everything went smooth through to the closing. After the closing, I started working with an interior designer that American Realty provided as part of the package. The entire time to finish the home was supposed to be 30 days but do to some communication problems with the designer, it ended up taking an extra 2 -3 weeks before it was completed. Despite the extra time it took to complete, I have to say that I'm very happy with the overall experience. The staff at American Realty was super helpful and worked very hard to correct the issues with the designer and speed up the process. As advertised, there were no hidden costs or fees and ultimately, I got exactly what was offered. The end result is well worth it - I have a beautiful town home with a custom designed interior in a very safe and quiet area of Playa del Carmen that I can enjoy when I visit and rent out when I'm not there.
