The last two times I needed a round trip cab ride in Marin, I called North Bay Taxi. The first trip, which I reserved with them days in advance, was to/from a medical procedure. The drivers showed up both at my home and after my procedure at the doctor's office on-time. The cabs were clean and the drivers were friendly and demonstrated safe driving behaviors. The same was true for my next round trip lift I needed to the Airporter. I had called several days before to reserve this ride and Craig arrived right on time at 4:30 a.m., knocked on my door and transported me safely. He was friendly/conversant, which I appreciated, as it made me feel more at ease. I was pleased that later that night when I arrived back at the Airporter and needed a ride back home, I called again for a ride from North Bay Taxi. Craig arrived, just beginning his graveyard shift. He was kind enough to accompany me to the door, considering the lateness of the hour (11:00 p.m.,) and the shady characters hanging around the entrance. I will be calling North Bay Taxi for future lifts. I especially appreciate the ability to make reservations for rides days in advance. I have used North Bay Taxi several times when I need to reserve a very early morning taxi. I have had bad luck with Uber and Lyft drivers failing to show up when I need them on early morning rides like this, but these guys at North Bay Taxi are friendly, reliable, and reasonably priced. The cars aren't always spectacular, but when you're trying to get to the airport or an important meeting before 7am in the Bay, I'd recommend calling these guys over using a ride-sharing app. read more

***BEWARE OF CHARGES*** I reserved a taxi to take me to SFO. The taxi picked me up on time. The entire drive to SFO the drivers on the road were honking, swearing and making all kinds of hand gestures at us because the taxi driver was driving in the left lane the ENTIRE drive. I did not feel safe constantly hearing and seeing angry drivers driving around and past us. When we arrived at SFO, the driver didn't STOP the meter. He tried to OVER charge me multiple times. Every time I stopped him, he pretended as if it was an honest mistake....then he tried to over-charge me again. Finally, I just gave up, and paid him too much because I had to catch my flight. I ordered this taxi service after multiple failed Uber attempts. Going from San Rafael to Novato. 12 miles. (17 min dr) When the driver arrived, I informed him or my address and exit off the 101. He said it was going to be 50 dollars and he needed cash "up front" I only had 45 dollars and it was late in the night so I went inside the store to get cash back. By the time I came back to the taxi he had informed my wife it was going to be "more" and he needed "at least 60 dollars up front" When I asked him why the meter was off he said "he would turn it on but 60 dollars would only get me to the freeway exit". I got out of the taxi right away and I told him I would just rather wait for an Uber. As I was getting out he started changing his prices but I didn't listen. I grabbed an Uber 12 min later for 24 dollars all the way to my house. Do not use this taxi service, or at least this driver. It's a scam. read more

After an hour and twenty minutes of repeated calls where the dispatcher assured me that the driver was 8 minutes away, they eventually said "I don't know what happened, I can't drive the cab for him". We have been using NBT weekly for the last three months or so. They really are a kind group of people, dispatchers & drivers! We have been fortunate enough to have Chuck (Chaudry), Steve and Mike as our drivers. I can't say enough about how kind & courteous they have been! Great conversations with one of the guys who is actually from Marin! The cabs are clean and not "purfumed" ! The drivers always get us where we need to be safely & on time! They all respect the masking, even when masking briefly wasn't required! They have ID cards in the taxi and they have background checks! They help load our gear and have even called me when we lost a hearing aide in the taxi!!! Who remembers that you wear hearing aides and then calls you to let you know your $2K hearing aide was left in their taxi? No one but NBT! It's nice to know the person who shows up at your door step is happy to be there, knows your name and appreciates the fare! With Uber and Lyft in crisis right now (availability & no shows), it's nice to be able to count on the local guy/gal who has been doing this for years! I figured I'd give North Bay Cooperative another try when I was in desperate need of a ride to the Oakland airport recently. First off, the dispatcher who answered the phone was professional and polite. She had me sold on the flat-rate service to the airport. The ride itself was kind of harrowing. The driver showed up in an old taxi that was apparently burning up its transmission or something. Because the cab was filling with a terrible burning smell, we drove the whole way from St. Ralph to Oakland with all the windows down. This was first thing in the morning, so the ride was a bit chilly, but I kept reminding myself that at least it wasn't raining. The driver was a bit of a multitasker, doing as much as he could during the ride. He even pulled out one of those old-timey credit card imprinting machines so he could handle the transaction en route. Imagine the driver with a cell phone in one hand, a credit card imprinting machine being operated on the driver's lap, radio station being changed, volume adjusted so The Bone was coming in loud and clear, windows being rolled up and down to air the burning smell out of the cab while navigating 80 southbound morning traffic all at the same time! How bad are these guys? They MISTREAT THE DISABLED! My girlfriend's brother "Dan" is developmentally disabled. Known around Marin as "Hollywood" he's a likeable guy and has been using this cab service often. Because my gf doesn't live in Marin, she set up her credit card with NB Taxi so that Hollywood can get in a cab, and say "I have a card on file" and they will take him where he needs to go. Well, since he's a bit mentally challenged, he didn't say the magic code words and said "I have an account". Apparently this is license for the cab drivers to refuse to charge his account and instead gouge him for the cash in his pocket (not that he has any). When NB Taxi was told of this event, the hostile "bookkeeper" was rude, uncaring, and unprofessional. Get a life, lady. Steer clear of this mean-spirited, slow-witted and rude service. . read more

A reminder of why I don't like taxis. Living in the city spoiled me with the availability of Uber and lyft but now that I'm in Marin the only way to schedule an early morning ride to the airport is to call a cab. The driver was late, left me standing in the rain in front of my house as she pulled up the block to check the address (it's clearly displayed on the front of the house) and was really not all that courteous. Two stars for getting me to the airport alive. I will avoid them in the future of at all possible. read more

Worst Taxi Service EVER! Called a day ahead for an early morning taxi from my house in downtown Larkspur to the Airporter(at Larkspur Landing). Taxi was due to arrive at 5:30 am, allowing plenty of time for me to catch a 6:00 am Airporter. At 5:45 am, called dispatcher but no answer. Was frantic because I had an international flight to catch. At 5:50 a taxi arrived from another taxi company. The driver announces that he has been called to "help out" North Bay Taxi. At this point I am livid and tell the driver to take me to the Seminary Drive stop because I figured I would miss the Larkspur Landing departure. To add insult to injury, the driver asks me for directions to the Seminary stop! When I finally reach North Bay to give them my feedback, the dispatcher hangs up on me. Used the taxi to get to Marin airporter at an ungodly hour in the morning and the driver was nice, friendly, and picked me up right on time (and was even like 2 mins early). Some people say the taxi is super expensive but it was actually very reasonably priced for me, probably the same as Uber would've been and it was way more reliable. I would 100% recommend this for reliable transportation (that won't cancel on you)!! read more

Not knowing ahead of time we would actually need a ride due to the circumstances, we recently called them on short notice twice (15 - 20 minutes before we wanted to be picked up) and both times they were right there! We have also made reservations with them ahead of time several times to be picked up very early in the morning, like at 3:30 - 5:00 AM, to go to the Marin Airporter, and they have always been on time or only a few minutes late. It was 41 degrees out and even after telling the airporter they were still 2 minutes out (it was about 10), the taxi driver gave me significant attitude. However coming back to Marin Lodge after the Mill Valley Film Festival at night I called the original company who was not available. He recommended North Bay Taxi. One of their drivers drives recklessly and almost caused an accident. I have not used this cab service nor ever would I. I was driving to work one morning via the 121 in Sonoma going the speed limit, when some dick in a white Prius surpassed the double lines (you know, the ones that mean DO NOT PASS) barely avoiding a head on collision into the poor lady in the other lane. I noticed the phone number on the roof of the car and had to make sure to get it. To get the phone number was hard considering how fast this guy was going....seriously speeding over the limit. A lot of people in Sonoma drive like idiots, believing the law doesn't apply to them. One of the downsides of living up here. Only a true idiot would drive like a maniac with their phone number in plain sight. I called the taxi service who didn't seem too concerned. I had the guys license plate but apparently, the guy who answered the phone was incapable of identifying the cab without the CAB number. Seriously.... a license plate did not do the trick. I have been using North Bay Taxi for years now. I even know several of the drivers by name & 1 of the dispatchers. On the 31st, I called asking for a Taxi to pick me up in 15 minutes while I ran in to get my Food which I had already called the order in to. The dispatcher was very rude & told me to call back when I was ready because I might take longer then 15 minutes. Granted, I understand it was Halloween, but I knew I was not going to be long at all which I tried to explain to the Dispatcher. He insisted I call back & not even 10 minutes later, I called. He said he would send someone right out. After 20 minutes of waiting & my food getting cold, I had no driver. I called back & told him to cancel my Taxi because I didn't want to wait that is why I called ahead of time. He acted as if it was nothing & said that is fine. My family and I used North Bay Taxi and they were terrible!!! They didn't have enough seats for all of us (even though they were told how many people we had and how much luggage), so I had to sit on the 1 foot crack in between the two back seats and not once did the driver try to fix it or apologize for it! I don't think that's even legal to do!Then when we got home, he gave out credit card information over the radio for anyone on that frequency to hear! He said he had to call it in and verify it, but he could have used his cell phone instead! You couldn't pay me to ever use or recommend there service again! read more
