I suggest bringing a light jacket because it is sometimes a bit chilly If you are hungry there is a foo court with things like Chick-fil-a, Pappa Johs pizza, chicken fingers, burgers and a few other choices. Convention center that hosts Stingray hockey games, concerts, comedy shows, graduations, expos, job fairs, ice skating shows, features on TV shows (righteous gemstones) and then some! I made a purchase at the box office to save on online fees for Ticketmaster. I noticed 2 entrances but there could be more I don't know about. Got lucky at the last show where our seats were on the side near our parking spot but if not, the queue to exit will be a lengthy one. Would be nice if they had filtered water stations to save on plastic. read more

We absolutely love the North Charleston Coliseum! I have been to this location for several events, including concerts, the van Gogh exhibit, and five musicals from the 22- 23 season. There is ample parking both in a lot, and in a deck. Parking is $10.00 but is included in the season pass (just for the musicals). The outlets are nearby as well as several restaurants. I have never interacted with an employee that has been unfriendly. Each time I go to the person who checks my ticket is friendly, and the concession attendance are equally friendly. My one qualm with the location is when I attend musicals, there is one male bathroom and one female bathroom. The female bathroom always gets backed up. During intermission, you have to race out from your seat to get to the bathroom. Plan ahead and get your snacks before the show. read more

First time here for a Stingray's game. Never been to the North Charleston Coliseum. The lines were long but moved very quickly. The venue did a very good job of ushering us in and quickly getting everyone to their seats. There was a decent selection of dining options at the food court. We stuck with the chic-fil-a you can't go wrong with that ( 1 chicken sandwich, 1 size fries, 1 size drink). After getting our grub, we made our way to our seats. I couldn't believe the excitement of the fans and all of the interactive games played by the staff and coordinators. Every minute of the game was filled with contests, military honors, donations, and of course lots of lots of t-shirts being shot into the stands. We enjoyed the game very much and we will return our only regret was not having seats closer to the Ice but that just leaves room from the next time. read more

This venue gets a variety of entertainment acts. Most tickets have to be purchased through ticketmaster, which means lots if fees - not happy with that. I've been to the Coliseum a few times for events, such as a Stingrays game, Cirque Du Soliel, concerts, and numerous Cooper River Bridge Run expos. It's a nice facility and the sound and lighting inside are great. Concessions are reasonably priced, and the building is very well marked for you to find your area/seat- but if you have issues, tons of staff members are waiting to help. Parking is abundant, and it's easy to get in and out of the area. Even after concerts and events, we haven't been in any MAJOR traffic jams yet. Parking is now $10, which I feel is a little steep. It went up from $5 (a 100% jump?!?!?) about two years ago. Try to carpool if you can to save some money! read more

This is my first time coming to an event in the coliseum. My family and I came to see "Monster Jam", it was awsome!... The venue is a resanoble size and there is no bad seats. Literally all seats have a close view. The restrooms are axecible and well maintained. Unfortunately parking was not well organized, we were routed to park at the outlet parking and a shuttle would pick us up, but no attendant that we spoke to knew what shuttle to take. The coliseum hosts music acts as well as the local hockey team the Stingrays. Hockey Tickets aren't bad at all, and to food is standard stadium stuff. They have a happy hour, but other than that it's 10 bucks for a tall boy. Be sure to bring cash for parking (10 bucks). It's located in the Tanger Outlet area with plenty of dining options before/after. Another aspect of the Tanger area is that the roads aren't intuitive. Three lefts to exit? Must be at the center of the universe! ... Anyway, when leaving the coliseum, save yourself some traffic by avoiding the International Ave exit. Using West Montague out the back will save you some traffic. read more

Always amazing events taking place. I went here for a Christmas event and it was amazing!!! So many vendors and so many things that you could op to get. It simply was one of those times that I couldn't have enjoyed my day more. I left with a smile on my face! They hold concerts, kid events, even graduations! The Coliseum offers you great sitting and enough space in between aisles to get through comfortably. The stage is huge! Specially when Garth Brooks Zane into town a few years go the stadium was packed but the sitting was spacious enough to allow you to move around, stand up and do whatever you wanted to do. I have personally been to the coliseum for several conventions / company meetings, two Cirque du Soleil performances, and to watch some Stingray hockey. Concessions at the coliseum are what you expect at most event spaces like this; overpriced. Parking at the North Charleston Coliseum isn't all that great since it seems you park quite a ways from the venue and have to walk; and they usually charge around $5 to $10 to park. Overall it's a nice venue; just costly to park and buy a soda or brew. read more

Parking is easy, getting in and out of the lot is easy and in and out of the arena. They're taking extra precautions during the pandemic to keep all of the guest safe. The SC Stingrays team is taking extra precautions as well to protect their players. I wish the Coliseum had more food options. The restrooms are always clean which is a huge plus. read more

The Coliseum, is a decent venue. The parking recently increased to 10.00 which is still less than some larger cities. The appearance is pretty clean and it appears well kept. The problem that I have is the location of the parking in reference to the venue is always a pretty good distance from the venue itself. You will spend several minutes walking so be prepared. After the show you will need to remember where you parked, Lot A, Lot E ect. There isn't any signage as you exit the venue that suggests which exit is closest to which lot, it's a mess. I've attended events up and down the east coast but no venue has frustrated me like the North Charleston Coliseum. They recently implemented a "clear bag" policy so unless you have a tiny clutch or a clear bag you'll be forced to hold your car keys, lipstick and if you still carry paper event tickets, you'll be forced to carry those around as well. The policy is obviously for safety but guests should be informed when purchasing tickets. read more

The Coliseum is a much needed venue in the Charleston area. Without it, we wouldn't ever get any large national acts in town. It's more intimate than some other larger venues I've been to around the country which can have it's pro's and con's, but it's great for the area. They've been really improving their performance schedule recently too. There's been too many to even keep up with. The parking can sometimes get a little dicey and the concession prices are a bit tough on the wallet, but any large arena will share those same woes. It's pretty much expected when going to a venue like that. Aside from performances and hockey games (This is where the Stingrays play), they have a large convention space next door that houses the yearly Christmas fair, wedding show, and a number of other events. It's a great venue and we're lucky to have it here in the lowcountry. read more

This review is just for "Discover the Dinosaurs" I was a bit hesitant to take my kids to the discover dinosaurs exhibit because we have been fortunate to live in Utah where we had 2 amazing dinosaur museums so a traveling Dino exhibit seemed like a waste of money. That being said, when you live somewhere where there are no awesome Dino museums close by you take what you can get. My kids were not disappointed at all with the traveling Dino show. They loved it! I was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't recommend it for kids over age 10 but for the little ones it was great. Definitely worth checking out if it comes to your area. read more

I have been to the coliseum quite a few times for a variety of events, including my graduation, expos, Stingray games, and Christmas events. It's a great size for this area. There's plenty of parking. When there are big events, police direct traffic which is wonderful! The area can already get congested without anything going on at the coliseum. Only reason I'll come here is because I'm a STH of the South Carolina Stingrays. This building is FILTHY, the bathrooms leak, Urinals that have been broken 2 seasons, water leaking all over the floor, in the seating area the crud from spilled drinks is so thick your shoes stick as if it were coated with Krazy Glue. I do not think there is a mop in the joint, also they do not accept cash anymore, and charge a fee to use a card. We pay ALOT of hard earned money to attend the games and other events at this venue but the City of North charleston just banks it. This place needs a thorough cleaning it's disgusting read more

I am very grateful to the Coliseum for bringing in big acts and adding a little bit more culture to Charleston (and keeping me from having to drive to Charlotte, Greenville, or Atlanta). The prices of drinks and food--while definitely overpriced (as to be expected in a music/sports venue)--is actually not as bad as many other arenas, and so doesn't break the bank too much. For instance, I had a Jack & Ginger for $10 at a concert this weekend. Not terrible! My one main complaint is that sometimes it seems like the sound of a show can really be dependent on where you sit. I'm not sure if it's the acoustics of the arena or what, but it's not always consistent. Parking was just upped to $10, and they only take cash, so be sure to factor that in or plan to take an Uber! read more

Rarely do I venture over here for an event. If I come out I am usually in the PAC auditorium that has excellent acoustics. The last time I was in the Coliseum was a Prince concert and now I get to go for a Cirque du Soleil: Ovo show. Really excited. All the seats to events I've attended have been really good. Very glad that we do have this venue for events. Open air is nice but some of the shows that we've gotten to see really did need to be indoors. I used to watch lots of Hockey games and and Arena Football back in the day. I knew a football player so we supported him and the team. Definitely can't wait for another event that I would consider coming up here for. read more

Great venue for events. They have a variety of food selection along with beer and wine. Prices are what you would expect for a place that host sporting events, concerts, etc. This is a much need location for the low country. My wife and I enjoy going here for different events. I love the coliseum. It is spacious and airy. The concessions are reasonably priced. There is not a bad seat in the house. The staff are extremely friendly, and I love how clean this coliseum is. I've been to other big venues in other cities, and not one can compare to this facility. My tip is to get the $1 soda without ice. It's a steal given the cost of concessions at other places. If I had one complaint, it likely has nothing to do with the coliseum itself but with the city of North Charleston. I hate to pay for an event, including Ticketmaster fees, taxes, etc. only to have to pay for parking on top of it. I could handle $5 without complaint, but raising the parking price to $10 in one sweep is on the side of ridiculous. I, personally, don't think I should have to pay to park in a lot where I'm seeing a show, let alone $10! read more

The North Charleston Coliseum is the largest indoor event venue in the area. I typically go here for music concerts, but this is also the home of the SC Stingrays hockey team. Most recently, I attended the Cirque Du Soleil: OVO show here. Various conventions, graduation ceremonies, and Disney on Ice shows come here regularly. The event space is great. I've signed up for their email distribution list which gives you early access codes to buy tickets before ticket sales are open to the 'public.' Acoustics and viewing are typically fantastic. The food and beverages available depend on the show/event being held at the Coliseum. My favorite is the taco station, when it is open. A few music shows I have been to had local tap takeovers, which made me feel much better about paying $10 for a draft beer if it was a locally-brewed one. The parking fee has risen to $10 per car. I find this excessive. Also, the venue needs to look into better strategies to get people through the lines and into the space faster. I value bag checks and tedious ticket scanning systems, but more personnel are needed to expedite the lines. read more

So glad this venue exists in Charleston. It attracts acts that would normally not have room for the crowd needed to support them. We were lucky enough to score Jim Gaffigan tickets on the floor and thought it was all pretty terrific. Traffic was understandably pretty rough but parking worked well and we got out in pretty good time. Sound was great. The 2 giant screens really helped out. Even close to the stage I found myself looking much of the time at the big screens. I have gone ot several events without getting good seats and not sure that was a good move. Sound was not as good well away from the stage area. But for hockey games and other sports events this place really works out well. Just glad that someone had the forethought to build this making Charleston a great place for big events. read more

This large open arena setting is home to hockey, plays, graduations and many other large specialty events. What makes this arena a warm and welcoming place is several things: 1. Great acoustics. As a sports fan, I can say the Stingrays fans can get loud, but this place makes us sound even louder and more proud. 2. Open area to walk and shop outside the seating area. 3. A number of ramps to exit the facility 4. Ample parking 5. Close to restaurants and the Tanger Outlet Mall 6. Great box office 7. Pleasant staff throughout. If you have a chance to see a play or hockey game, get out to the arena. Tip: For very large events, there is parking at the outlet with bus service over. read more

I've been to the NCC and PAC quite a few times and have always had such a great time for all the events. This particular time, I was taking my kids to another Disney on Ice event. Our seats were great, the venue is great, the atmosphere and sound are phenomenal, and for the people who work there are pretty friendly. This time, my kids and I showed up right around show time, and there was a lady driving a golf cart who picked us up in the parking lot and dropped us off at the entrance! Nice! The kids thought that was fun! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the price for parking goes up to $10/car for these kinds of events. I get having to pay for parking, but $10 is pretty high. I have been attending events at the Coliseum since it was built! It holds about 12,000 people and has very good acoustics. They are able to host just about any type of event from ice hockey to theatrical performances (ie. Cirque Du Soleil), from music concerts to truck rallies, and everything in between. Parking is a standard $5 cash, so plan on it. Carpooling is always an option if you're tight. Occasionally, the traffic can be ridiculous because the Performing Arts Centre as well as the Convention Centre are all on the same piece of property, in addition to hotels that have been added to accomodate visitors. Just take a deep breath and arrive a little early. There are large restroom facilities at every section, along with food and drink vendors. There is a new-ish bar and food court off the main drag, somewhere around section 114. Try it out if you're looking for something a little different, or want a liquor drink. There is always plenty of staff on hand to direct you, or assist with any issues you might encounter, and the bathrooms are always well maintained. My only complaint is that the coliseum is a circular building and the entrances/exits all look the same. On occasion, we have gone out the complete opposite side and didn't realize it until it was too late, There is not an easy way to rectify this other than walking all the way around! So, my suggestion would be to take note of where you parked and where you entered and follow that same route to leave. read more
