As an alumna of NCCS, I can confidently say the school not only prepared me academically for college and adulthood, but genuinely equipped me for life. The teachers and staff cared deeply about their students and constantly went above and beyond to support, encourage, and challenge us. I'm incredibly grateful for the environment they created. I always felt pushed to do my best while also feeling known and valued as an individual. The faculty invested so much of themselves into their students, and it showed in everything from the classroom experience to the relationships they built with us personally. As an adult now, I realize and admire how much the school emphasized character, faith, leadership, and integrity alongside academics. The lessons I learned extended far beyond my time there. No school is perfect, but I can honestly say my experience was overwhelmingly positive, and I will always be thankful for the teachers, mentors, and friends who made those years so meaningful. I spent three years at that school, and over time I built a reputation as the "bad kid." By 8th grade, I had completely turned things around. I didn't get in trouble a single time. Then I got suspended over something unbelievably minor. I threw leaves at my friends while we were walking outside, and later I gulped while my principal was talking, which they took as disrespect. That was enough to suspend me. After that, I found out my history teacher was telling other people about my suspension. I sent a respectful email asking one simple thing: "Please do not tell others about my suspension." The day I was supposed to come back, instead of letting me return, they called my family into a meeting and told us I was being expelled. During that meeting, they lied to my parents about what my email said. Then they made me leave the room and proceeded to yell at my mom while she begged them for one more chance. What makes this even harder to understand is that this was a Christian school. Christianity teaches forgiveness, grace, mercy, and second chances. Jesus forgave people who had made far greater mistakes than I ever did. Yet when I finally changed, none of that seemed to matter. They judged me by who I used to be instead of who I had become. That experience changed the way I looked at Christianity--not because of Christ, but because of the people who claimed to represent Him. If you're going to call yourself a Christian school, then live like Christ. Don't preach forgiveness while refusing to practice it. Don't talk about grace while holding someone's past against them. What happened to me wasn't Christ-like, and I'll never forget it. read more

I went to this school for five years as a child with my autistic sister who is 2 years older than me. In my time there I developed anxiety and depression. Now I have to take antidepressants and my sister was severely bullied and the teachers didn't ever care. They belittle any other religion besides christianity. Not all of the staff are bad people and I genuinely hope this review will be helpful to any one reading it. read more

As an Alumni, I implore you to send your kids anywhere else. Will they be college ready? Sure. That's about the only benefit. The administration have all known each other for years, and will make excuses/ back each other up no matter what. They make examples out of children who make mistakes while taking no accountability themselves. I graduated a few years ago and after having several years of true adulthood under my belt, I have yet to meet a more hypocritical, graceless, judgmental, group of people (And I work in healthcare). A majority of teachers hired are personal friends or friends of friends, regardless of qualification. Teachers children/ children whose parents donate are favored and it's very apparent, speaking from experience. If your child does not fit their mold, they will be treated as they as lesser than. I graduated with my faith hanging on by a thread. There are a very small handful of teachers there who I think stay to try to make a difference. I owe them everything. read more

As a graduate of this school after 12 years of attendance, I can honestly say that the values they have implanted in me and the rigorous course work have truly assisted me in accomplishing goals and growing in my relationship with Christ more than anything else. The teachers are some of the most compassionate, heartwarming people I know. They not only have prepared me for life in the classroom, but also in the advice they have given me throughout the years. No matter what my situation was, I was extremely confident that at least one teacher would be not only willing, but happy to help me with whatever I was facing. They were not just my teachers, but also friends. The kind of people that stop you in the hallway just to ask you how your day is going, and truly care and listen to your response. They know how to enforce discipline while still being considerate of how the students feel. With each of my teachers I could feel a connection; they did their best to relate to us and what we were going through. No, not every student at the school is truly a Christian, though they may claim to be, but the majority of the students are warm and accepting of other people. Some of my greatest, lifelong friends were met here, and even after we went our separate ways from the school we still are closer than ever. In my senior year I along with some other students in my class was able to not only take courses at my high school, but also dual enrollment at KSU. In this experience I truly learned how my education at NCCS prepared me for courses at universities well enough that I would succeed. The classes at NCCS are rigorous enough that they will challenge students, while at the same time allowing them to achieve success. If a student is struggling, teachers will notice and help them through it, encouraging them on throughout the semester. Classes are engaging and applicable to real life. In 12 years, I learned more from this school than I feel I could learn at just about any other institution, whether it be math, science, English, or any other subject. This school taught me how to use my talents for the glory of God, and most importantly how to radiate His love and grace to those around me. read more

I'm really surprised by some of these reviews which appear bitter or condemns NCCS for teaching the Bible or being Christian... Afterall..... IT's A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. NCCS makes it very clear PRIOR to enrollment that they teach from a biblical worldview. They have provided so many great activities to ensure parents and students are informed and involved with other parents/students and the curriculum they are offering. We attended a new parent bbq & new parent coffee time with the head of school where all questions are answered and information is provided about the school. Our child, along with all new students, were invited to a day rock climbing/mini golf & laser tag to get to know the principal and teachers and enjoy time getting to know other students prior to the start of school. The basic curriculum is on level with other state schools, but they offer advanced classes for students who are above the grade-level.... My child is in the advanced classes, and I feel 100% confident the students are being challenged and prepared for high school and beyond. read more

If you want your smart and well behaved child to be creative, think outside of the box, or just to be on level in age appropriate math, then do not send him or her to this school. If you want your child to know the bible from front to back and be afraid of the devil, then you should send him here. If you want him to be in a classroom with unhappy teachers, then you should send him here. If you want your preschooler to stay in one room all day when the weather is bad, then you should send him here. My child was not kicked out of this school, nor did he have behavior problems. In fact, if you think you will be avoiding the "bad" kids by sending your child to this school, then you are sorely mistaken. They won't kick anyone out who pays. They only want your money, so they can keep their salaries. The best interest of the children does not apply here, and the desire for money is hidden behind the pretense of Christianity. There are some true Christians at this school, but don't fool yourself into thinking that it is run by them. My husband and I pulled our child out on our accord, because there was a different child in his class every year that was horribly behaved and took up all of the teacher's time. He also was afraid of the devil BUT could not perform on-level math. We have private test scores for him, and he has an above average IQ and a high propensity for math. This school did not teach him math, but he sure does know all about the bible and is afraid of the administration. There are no warm and fuzzies coming from this place. I find it very intersting that this school does not have an account on Yelp. It is obvious why they do not. I would love to see other people who have been unhappy with this place say something on Yelp. They can't do it on any other website, because it will be taken off. I know, because I tried. read more
