I can't believe I haven't given them a 5 star sooner because when I lived here i would do all my shopping here & always had great experiences. I came back into town for a few days and stopped by to get some food for my trip and noticed they had a cafe serving sammie's and smoothies and had to try one. They were all dedicated GF which was so amazing since I have celiac disease and it's really hard to find good freshly prepared food without risking cross contact & getting sick. I got the avocado toast sandwich and it was AMAZING! Also grabbed a matcha latte & pumpkin pie on my way out which both hit the spot. Hailey the owner (I hope i spelled that correctly) was the sweetest and I had a great conversation with her about nutrition. The co-op itself has so many gluten free, vegan, organic and locally sourced food options to buy in bulk or by the package. I love the environment they create here and the workers are always so friendly and helpful. They also have a section of pre-made food (most of which is vegan) and it all looks freshly made and delightful! The co-op is definitely one of the only places around here that i miss on the daily basis :,) Definitely recommend stopping by! read more

Jesus, Mary and Dub-step I love the bulk section in this place. Parking is super convenient. They have a good selection of beauty/health/lady things here, and everyone who has ever waited on me is super crazy nice. Although I live almost 45 minutes away in the next state over, I try to make the effort to come out and support NCCO. Whether I need kombucha, oat flour, darn toughs or just random candy gifty bits of happiness, they've usually got the goods. Are prices a smidge higher than most places? Yeah? Are most places this cool and full of fun and variety? Didn't think so. Go check em out. read more

Overpriced goods. Some of the packaged goods were expired. Good selection of bulk/package-free foods and coffee. No one once greeted me or asked if I needed anything. I also do not mind bagging my own groceries but the person who checked me out just took my payment and didn't say a word. I had to ask if I could take the recycled bags for myself, to which I got a reply of "yup." So, good for harder to find dry goods, but certainly not for staples and packed food. Expect to pay a lot for not very much. read more

I love food co-ops and love supporting local communities, this was a surprise find. I went here the other week on a whim and bought a variety of things...they have everything from candles to herbal supplements. They have a nice selection of teas and local cheeses as well as organic and vegetarian/vegan pre-packaged food options. There is a very nice gluten free section in the baking aisle as well, but realize you wont find Walmart prices here. All in all this is a place that should definitely be checked out and supported. read more

You are visiting a co-op, be prepared for co-op like things. The food is expensive, but you are in a co-op. The food is expansive and inclusive of a ridiculous number of dietary options and limitations. Again, you are in a co-op. You can purchase food, spices, coffee, etc. in bulk, since- you guessed it you are in a co-op! The one nice thing about this co-op is that they support local, and host musicians weekly. You're also not going to find this type of health food anywhere, unless you visit Pray's farmers market. read more

Stopped here to load up for a camping trip based on the reviews. Do not come here for the produce, "fresh" food, or expecting to find good value. $4/lb bell peppers from Argentina, organic avocados that were all black and rotten inside, and dry, bland yam brown rice wraps. They do have kombucha on tap and a good bulk section, but don't make this a special stop. You'd be much better off driving to Market 32 a few minutes away for just about everything else for fresher produce and much lower prices on everything. read more

This is an awesome little co-op. They have a bunch of rare ingredients that you cannot find in supermarkets. It is pretty expensive especially on a college budget but the sparse shopping excursion there will not tear the wallet apart. read more

This was a true find. If you are a cook .. wow .. what a selection of bulk herbs, spices, teas, nuts, grains. Love this place !!!!

Great Store. I come often from an hour and a half away due to the prices being so much better than in Burlington VT. Love the community feel of the store, too. read more

What a cool grocery store! Full of awesome natural products at a good price, the NC Co-op is a true gem in a small town. From notebooks, incense and bulk foods to things requiring more cooking, this place has quite a bit. The staff are friendly, too. read more

This place is WONDERFUL. As someone who has an allergy to dairy and gluten, it's nice to stop by this magical place that offers many of the food brands that accommodate my restrictions. Their vegetables are fresh and tasty. Their coffee selection is excellent. This place seems small on the outside, but their offerings are extensive. I wish we lived in the area since I would surely visit the co-op quite frequently. Please stop by and support this wonderful place. read more

I absolutely love the co-op. An incredibly friendly place that clearly is part of and cares for its community. When one considers the quality of the products you get at the co-op, the prices are incredibly reasonable and in some instances down right a bargain. And the bulk section? I've never seen anything rival it. I highly recommend you head on down, become a member, and enjoy the wonder that is the North Country Co-Op.
