I drew at bear tag for the 2025 season and started researching outfitters. If you have one shot at hunting bear every 10 or so years, you need to make an informed decision on who you hire to guide you. I was looking for outfitters that would be involved and supportive in all phases of the experience and had an impressive success rate. The more I researched North Country Outfitters the more I came to believe in was the correct fit for me. Bryan the owner kept me informed with texts and calls before the hunt to insure I had all the correct equipment and information needed before I left home. I received regular pictures of bears, and correspondence on current bear behavior on the bait that he had prepared for my hunt. When I arrived on site, Bryan gave me a tour of the lodge and then took me out when he baited the site so that I was prepared for the opener the next day. I also experienced some great comradery among the other hunters in camp. We even got to watch the Packers win on the large screen TV. It was interesting to hear the experiences of the guys in camp each evening. I was happy to take a nice 226 lbs. boar. Joe, Bryans helper, came to drag it out and weigh it at camp. Bryan recommended a place in town that caped and processed my bear. I left with vacuumed pack bags of bear meat. I hope to come back with my son in the next couple of years to give him the same experience that I had. I can't say enough good things about this hunt! It was a memory I will cherish as long as I live.
