Occasion: Lunch and some sporting clays If you wake up one day and think to yourself: "where can I go to have lunch, get up close and personal with a live pheasant, and shoot at sporting clays?", this is your place! Most who know me know that I'm a military retiree - I had a lot of opportunities in my career to fire all types of weapons from a 155mm howitzer to every version of the Kalashnikov. What was conspicuously absent from the list of weapon's I've fired was a shotgun of any type. Not anymore... For right around $65 + tip, I was able to use both 20- and 12- gauge shotguns and expend an entire box of each gauge ammo to shoot at some sporting clays. It was nothing short of a concierge experience - our guide started the day by showing us one of their new pheasants before orienting me to the guns I'd be firing and instructing me on how to actually hit one of the sporting clays. He then took me to the "range" and walked me through trying to shoot from the different launch points. He also mentioned that they were one of the only places in the country that can set up a one-mile snipe. Let that sink in, folks...taking a sniper shot from AN ENTIRE MILE away. I put that on my list for next time as it does take more setup so needs to be arranged in advance. I performed respectably but more clay pigeons survived the experience than I would have liked. I learned a lesson - sport shooting is significantly different than military. It was humbling but a ton of fun! And the husband did manage to get a video of me actually hitting one of the confounded things so that made me a happy camper too. Would I return? YES YES YES Would I recommend? This review is solely for the grill part of the business. Seven of us (4 adults, 3 kids) arrived at 6pm for dinner. We were seated inside as the patio was full--no problem with this. Indoor seating was only half full, if that. We waited for 20 minutes before our orders were taken. We then proceeded to wait two hours before we even received our food, with very little checking in from our waitress. She eventually apologized for the wait after we'd been waiting for an hour and a half after ordering. We asked for some bread rolls for the kids at this time and she seemed happy to bring those (along with a round of free drinks for the adults). When we asked for bread rolls for the kids, we mentioned we'd been there already for 2 hours and needed something for the kids. She pulled out her handheld ordering device and said, actually it looks like you've only been here for an hour and a half. 1) The waitress argued with us on how long we'd been waiting. 2) An hour and a half to wait for food (ended up being 2 hours in the end) is completely unacceptable. 3) We had been there 2 hours because it took them 20 minutes to even take our order. We finally received our food and it was just ok. Absolutely nothing to write home about. They mentioned only being open for three weeks and that being a reason as to why our wait was so long. They must have meant 'for the season' because their Facebook page has been posting since 2021. Waited an hour and twenty minutes for two burgers and an order of chicken strips. A table of four arrived about 40 minutes after us and got their food! I think our waitress forgot to put our ticket in and never realized it. She never came to the table to update us or apologize. We walked out. The waitress had the nerve to ask us to pay for the can of Mt. Dew. We have been coming here since they opened and have never had this happen before. read more

This was our third and last time. Service was terrible. They dont take reservations. We waited 90 mintues for a table because they gave our table to someone else and then had a large group follow. When we finally got a table we ordered immediately. Fish fry. 45 minutes later and no food. We finally just walked out. Hidden Gem. Great staff great food love the hollandaise sauce for my baked fish, but the drink prices have gone up. It's two dollars extra for an old-fashioned with Korbel compared to rail . read more

We found out about this place from a business associate who highly recommended it. I made reservations for my family for the weekend. This is a almost brand-new campground and is very well laid out. Most sites have full hook ups including 50 amp sewer and water. The bathhouse is top notch brand-new and spotless. There is a private lake with kayaks and canoes available at the main lodge. They also have a restaurant on site and the food is quite good. They have a trap shooting range as well as sporting clays if you enjoy shooting sports. I almost hesitate to leave the review because this is a hidden gem and once it is discovered, will be booked out constantly. However, I feel I owe it to the owners to leave them a positive review because we had an excellent experience and will be back. Please see some of my photos for more info. read more
