Job was to fix rear seat locking mechanism and install new front and rear lights. Locking mechanism was installed but the barrel was loose to which it quickly fell out. Lights were done okay. Owner suggested a valve adjustment given that the bike was cranking for a bit long prior to starting. He told me the bike wasn't running at all while it was there - it was until delivered so I was a bit confused. The battery was dead when he gave it back so I charged it and it was able to start immediately. If a mechanic can't think to charge a battery to get a bike to start, I don't think they should be trusted with your time and money. Big mistake trusting this shop with my bike. read more

Ive been going to Glen at north county hypersports for a few years now. I keep coming back because he is really trustworthy does great work at affordable prices. I don't know that much about bikes, had issues with my Cbr650f I didn't check the oil for a long time and noticed it was really low then thought maybe i over filled it. I immediately thought the worst because it was running really sluggish for a while so I thought i blew gaskets a cylinder or ground up the engine from too little oil. I take it to glen and he gets right to work on it. Says it's just the clutch. He fixed it in a few weeks and it's like riding a brand new bike. Im so happy. It would be really easy for a mechanic to say it was something more serious and I wouldn't be the wiser. Im just really glad to have this guy around. read more

I received in the mail yet another citation for a motorcycle I sold to Glenn in MARCH 2017!!! I first became aware of this issue a yeat later when I received a registration renewal for said bike in 2018. I went directly to the shop and asked him to get the motorcycle re-registered. (Yes I sent in my release of Liability at the time of the sale) His response was..."well I already resold it, but I'm waiting for payment...once I get that I'll give the new owner the pink to register" He stated he didn't want the motorcycle transaction to show up on his business because he didn't want to pay the taxes (mind you the motorcycle was only worth $1500) I told him that wasn't my issue and to get it registered because it's still technically in my name. He became irate and said "That bike is mine and he'll do it when he can" or something to that effect...pretty much didn't go well, so I left before I started breaking laws too. So here I am 5 years later still dealing with this crap because of this bum! Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place....Hes a dick and is obviously doing shady stuff. if you really need a good motorcycle shop DM I'll be glad to refer you to ANYONE but Glenn Castro! I have had my 1966 Honda 305 Scrambler in the shop for several weeks. The owners Austin and Maddie are the new owners. Austin worked on my bike which was built before he was born. I really never told him what I wanted done because he fixes what he feels is needed. He did an outstanding job and the bike runs like its brand new. His experience is very deep in motorcycles and I would refer anyone with a bike to see him first. The customer service with his wife made me feel like I was at home in my easy chair sipping a cold iced tea. These people might be new to the ownership of a Motorcycle Shop but they are not new to building a customer relationship. Not sure if Glenn is still around these parts, if you are and you are reading this, you're a lousy excuse of a business owner. I didn't have time to clean my carb and adjust valves because I was working so much and I took it to him because he told me he could have it done In two days. Before I took it to the shop I made a mark on the fuel bowl just to see how nasty it was. I didn't realize it would be used as evidence to follow. Picked it up a week later (even though it was supposed to be done in tow days time) and took it home. It was still running so bad. I took the hour and a half to take apart the carb and inspect. No cleaning had been done, so I knew he didnt adjust valves or do oil as well. Now in all fairness I should've done the work myself. I was working close to 70 hours a week and just didn't have it in me. Here's where it gets good. I took before and after photos before I took it into him if the bowl. Got him to "admit" that he didn't do the work (he said he did time and time again) but he gave me money back for the carb job (not the valves) so I ended up losing 330 to this guy and getting 140 back. So dishonest, so bad, and all around terrible. Take your bike anywhere else. Just not to this guy. Look at the reviews, consider them, I'm not the only one. Cheers. read more

From start to finish my experience with this shop was a nightmare. Never again will I trust this shop! I had glen install a cam in my 2020 fxlrs and tune it. It was supposed to be a couple day turn around but turned into a week. (Not a problem) I showed up at his shop the day he told me it would be ready and said "dude your rushing me". Then why did you tell me to come pick it up that friday? After agreeing on picking it up the following day the bike was covered in oil. He said oh no big deal sometimes the pushrod o rings leak. What!? Once again how do you let a bike leave thats covered in hand prints and obvious oil leaks? (What would have happened if that oil shot back to my rear tire causing me to go down over pure laziness). During my ride home i noticed how horrible the tune was. Flat spots in every gear. Practically dying when giving it gas. After i got home i looked over my bike and noticed he also scratched my battery cover as well as oil dripping out of the push rods. I had to wait until monday to get ahold of him to explain all of the issues. Instead of acknowledging the issue he claimed i was riding the bike wrong since it had a large cam in it which it wasnt. Its a 475 cam. He just told me on the phone that i was only negative and complained the whole time. From what i saw, i think what goes on in this shop is glen sub contracts a mechanic to do the work for him since hes getting to old and that "mechanic" doesnt know what hes doing. Glen couldnt figure out the tune even after i took the bike back for him to fix the tune that i paid for. He said there was no way to tune from 0%-3% on the power vision . I felt the bike wasnt safe enough to ride so i had to trailer the bike to another shop that did an amazing job with my bike. So thanks again Glen for taking advantage of me and doing shady work. It is so bad and the engine is completely trashed from his work and Oceanside Cycle Supply had to fix all of his work. Been 5 months and still in the shop. Beware! This guy promised to help fix my husband's bike. First off we took the bike to get it fixed after my husband had an accident. the owner glenn of the shop found out we had insurance and right away said he would "fix it up really cool" that he would use the budget he got from the insurance to make it better. We agreed because who doesn't want "better" he went on to "fix" it but when we got the bike back after he charged the insurance who knows how much and we gave him $2500 cash he put on illegal lights. All we asked is that he fix the lights to some that are legal and he said ok. The he went on to cut off the original bracket bracket and on additional lights (which now the bike looks worse). We went to just get the bike cuz we are tired of dealing with this guy and now he wants more money! I will be calling the insurance to report this! Beware and go somewhere else!!! read more

Stay away. Do not go here and risk it. The bad reviews on here are legit and I have communicated with those that wrote them. I have a 1984 Suzuki GS 1150 ES. It started smoking and needed a new clutch so I started looking around for a Suzuki mechanic. I had my reservations about this shop based on some of the reviews while others raved about it. Based on a few phone calls with the owner I decided to give it a try. I spent $3,100 on a new clutch, new piston rings, valve job, all new gaskets, a cam chain tensioner, intake boots, petcock and to rebuild all the carbs. That is a lot of money to me or probably anyone. 15 minutes into my ride home it started smoking. I called Glenn and he said it could be old oil and stuff stuck in the pipes that should burn off. Took it for a few more rides and it's definitely that. Something is wrong with the work. I called again and he said it could be the valve sleeves but aren't valve sleeves part of a valve job? Then he said it would need a bore and piston kit. Why did he not check all of this before he returned it to me? So I bought the piston kit. He offered a whopping 25% labor to install it and no mark up on the bore job but he didn't know what the bore job would cost... Does that seem right to anyone? I highly doubt it. Beyond bummed and disappointed about my experience. I don't have the money to do anymore work to this bike at this time. I paid a lot of money and it should rock. This guy completely ripped off my boyfriend. Brought in a DIRT BIKE to change tires to tires that can climb better. This DIRT BIKE is not street legal, just off road. The guy gives his recommendation. Said he knows the perfect tires. Boyfriend goes to pick up the DIRT BIKE AND HE PUT STREET TIRES ON IT! Boyfriend said he can't use those for climbing so put the old ones back on. HE Told boyfriend there will be a restocking fee. Boyfriend was ok with that. My boyfriend and I took in our Harley Road King that we bought from my cuz. He always had it serviced in escondido but it was a bit of a drive for us, so we found NC Hyper Sports. Originally looking for a 30,000 mile check up and oil change. My boyfriend mentioned that the stearing seemed unstable and they thought it could be bearings (now keep in mind I am not a mechanical gal and trying to get the details right) Well Glenn probably saved our lives !! Seriously! The former place that worked on it, had put on Cruiser handlebars WITHOUT the proper bracket - there is a HUGE sticker that says it needs a special bracket and without it our bars were cracked in 2 places and could of broken and crashed us at any time. Brought my Vulcan to Hypersports to get new pipes, walked out with an awesome bike. My bike is constantly getting compliments and looks. I have been using this shop for several years and have never had a problem. I bring my big cruiser bike and both quads here. Not sure why people are upset about the service, my experience has been really good every time. Tires installed same day, quad brake issues that stumped other shops (NC House...) fixed right the first time. Yeah, sometimes Glenn is a bit matter of fact, but I'd rather deal with a pro than some no-knowledge service writer any time. I want my gear to work right, I don't need warm fuzzies. Bottom line: If you want the highest quality work, parts and repairs, you want to check out this shop. That's my take. read more

Honestly, I'm very disappointed. I took my bike in because of starting issues. I had to jump start it several times, needed a new battery. Brought it in to be serviced as well. He originally told me the service included the cost of the parts needed, oil, oil filter, etc. That ended up not being the case to my surprise. I was told the battery wasn't the issue which didn't make much sense. Claimed we should start with the plugs and air filter. I bought it used recently so I figured no harm no foul it'd be a good idea to replace them. He needed to order the filter and said they had one day shipping. And would be here the day after tomorrow and they would work on it and have it dine the same day. At around 5pm before they close I called to see if it was ready for pick up. To which he said they hadn't gotten the part, I apologized for calling too soon and then told him I was only inquiring because of our last conversation. To which he rudely responded with he never said that so I don't know where you'd get that from. (My wife was with me in the car when we were on the phone and heard him say the same thing about one day shipping and when it would be ready) he told me they would have it by tomorrow afternoon. So the following day around 5pm again I called because I hadn't heard anything to which he once again rudely said they had just gotten the part in that morning and were working on a different bike, but they'll get to it and have it done tomorrow morning. So now the bike has been delayed on the completion of this for an extra 3 days. I called at noon and to no ones surprise it still wasn't ready. I was notified that my bike was ready at 330 pm and was told to pick it up by 5 or I would be jmcharged 48 dollars a day for storage. Although I had no issue picking it up at that time, to have the original pick up date changed several times and then to be told last second that it was ready and to come get it or be charged extra money is ridiculous. Overall my bike runs but I still would not come back or recommend this place. read more

Glenn did me a favor the first time I came in with my mangled looking shifter: he smacked the crap out of it to bend it away from the link arm, and I was able to get my bike working again same day when I thought I wouldn't be able to get mobile after that driveway mishap. I had called other motoshops in the county, and all of them had pushed my stuck shifter problem off as, "Oh, you need to get a new part... the price for the shifter is..." For this kind act alone, Glenn gets a higher rating and a review (I start off service shops at 3's since you can get average service, above average service, and beyond-the-call-of-duty service). +1 star for getting me moving again, free of charge/"labor." Ever since, he's been the go-to guy for my bike gear. I've bought a chain, rear motorcycle stand, and spools. Almost bought a shifter from him, but it wouldn't have fit my bike. I think Glenn/Hyper Sports is most likely cheaper than say, NCHM. Unless someone outright messages me and says, "$37 for mounting a chain? $18 for adjustment and lube? You're getting ripped off!," the price sounds okay. The rear stand was inexpensive ($60 in comparison to NCHM's $100+ stands) and the mid-range O-Ring chain balanced out with online prices at $63 and change. I haven't gotten any repair/maintenance services yet, but he's been pretty helpful with the tips on how to get the bike going... he's supportive, though "concerned" about letting me do my own work, lol. I'm a newbie, so I don't blame him. The only potentially negative aspect is that in both instances of coming in (the first for the shifter, second for chain), the after market parts suggested would not have fit with my fairly common 2010 Ninja 250. The shifter he was originally going to sell me wouldn't have fit my bike. I asked him if I could see if it would work with my bike, but he's got a no refunds on opened/used items. With the second visit and the spools, he told me that the ones he had would mount my baby Ninja... I got so excited and took the 6mm's out of the package, and stuck it into the threads. Ugh. They... were... too... small. The rear spools on my bike are 10mm, which according to online communities, is standard on all Ninjas. The 6mm were meant for Yamahas, so I'm a bit ticked off that I wasn't able to test out the rear stand purchased. I think he should have known a bit better on this one... but I'll see if he's going to continue he nice guy streak this weekend and look into possibly getting an exchange for spools that'll fit my bike. I know there's company policy, but I'm assuming for all intents and purposes, he's the owner/CEO/head guy of this NCHS, and will note that I trusted in his professional assessment when making this purchase. Hopefully, I can give a positive update on this. Moral of the story: if you're going about moto maintenance or repair on your own, do your homework before making any purchase (I should have known better and not have bought the spools until I knew for fact that it would fit my bike). Otherwise, bring your bike in/drop by and ask questions. Glenn's been helpful to me, so there's hope he'll be helpful to you! read more

This place is absolutely terrible. I just bought a motorcycle and I needed to get it serviced so I took it here. The original estimate they told me was 350 for something they called midservice. Later on he called and said that I need some brakes which would be an extra charge and I said ok. I get to the shop after they call and say it's done and the price is 498.71. Ridiculous. I'm so upset honestly I didn't want to argue with them or anything and as I'm taking my bike away I go to a buddies house and they tell me if I just got my bike serviced why is your front fork leaking fluid. Kind of ridiculous that they didn't catch this after paying 500 dollars for an oil change brake change spark plug change and inspection. Some inspection they do. I honestly feel violated and this place should be shut down, I don't care how nice they are. Please just don't go here. read more

I should have known this was going to be a bad experience from the point that they ordered the wrong part for my bike. I had them order a Power Commander for a Kawasaki 650 but instead they ordered the 750. So then I had to wait an additional week before it came in and was put on the bike. After leaving the shop with the bike there were no immediate signs of anything since I just rode it home which is just 4 miles away. But after a week I started to notice that my bike was idling low and was almost wanting to turn off. So when I take it back they had me leave the bike for a week only to let me know that they couldn't get to it. When they did get to it, they of course said they couldn't find anything wrong. I took my bike to another shop that within 10 minutes identified that my Power Commander was incorrectly mapped. Go figure. read more

They didn't put my valve stem on correctly! This is basic stuff here, people!!!! I am very concerned with this place, so I am sharing my experience with my Facebook friends as well! I should have seen a red flag right away. I was stuck on the side of the road and my husband told me to call "Nick" at Hypersports. When I called, Glenn answered and said there was nobody there by that name (he lied). I met Nick when we got my bike into the shop. But no, for some reason, I still trusted this crook. These guys might as well of killed me themselves. They didn't install the valve rim holder on my back tire. While I was going 70 on the 78 eastbound during the lunch rush, my back-end began fishtailing. I got it to the center of the road without killing myself (all glory to GOD!). I just had them install a back tire less than a month ago. They replaced the valve stem as well. THEY FORGOT TO PUT THE VALVE RIMHOLDER, 42754-MN5-000; a $3 part BACK ON MY BIKE. IF IT WAS MISSING, THEY SHOULD HAVE ORDERED ONE AND INSTALLED IT!!!! They said they "just want to keep you safe". I trusted them. They didn't keep me safe. . My husband spoke to the owner, Glenn, who screamed into the phone, talked over my husband; telling him that he has been doing this for 35 years...SCARY! IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE, DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS SHOP! The Honda dealership said that due to not having the holder, it was just a matter of time and speed before the valve stem ripped. Glenn said, "if it happened the day after you picked the bike up that would be one thing". Glenn is not accountable. I googled the Honda specs and it clearly showed that there should have been a vale/rim holder. Glenn, I hope every one of your potential customers read this prior to trusting you! Your golf game seems more important than taking care of your customers...thanks for almost killing me! Not only did they screw-up on putting my tire on correctly, they said they would quote me on running a phone charger; which they "forgot" to do. This was the only motorcycle shop I found that was willing to repair a slow leak in my rear tire in the San Diego area. Apparently I ran over a thumb tack (minus the head) or a finishing nail cut to one cm. None of the other shops would do it because they were afraid I would sue if something happens. I know to not drive like an idiot now that I have a repaired tire but it would be a shame to throw away an otherwise almost new tire. Glenn made sure the tire was safe to repair and did the fix for half of the cost of purchasing and installing a new tire. The repair involved installing an Pirelli inner tube. I was able to drop the bike off the night before and it was ready an hour after they opened the next day. read more

We should have known there was a problem when we called. I spoke to NICK. I had my wife, who was stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire call and ask for NICK, Glenn, the owner, told her there was no nick working there.... This was fishy. We had an estimate of $109, actual cost was $139: no phone call to tell us that the estimate would be higher. Snuck in the tire disposal fee rather than put that in the original estimate. We Don't like surprises. Secondly, we asked to have other estimates done. They said he would have then ready for us... He didn't. Glenn was too busy playing golf during the work week to tend to business and fulfill his promises when he knew we were coming to pick it up. The guy who rang us up didn't bother calling Glenn to find out any information that Glenn promised to provide. We told the guy who rang us up that we were not happy, he didn't care at all. Shifty, fishy. We are also suspicious about the tire that just had to be replaced. We told them it was a bad valve stem, which they agreed. They claimed there was a slice in the replaced tire. When nick tried to show it to us, it looked like a little scratch. We kept the tire to get a second opinion. In my first contact with Glenn, the owner, I knew he was very knowledgable about motorcycles. I spoke with him about my 2008 CBR 600RR and what I could do to improve my performance. I have aftermarket exhaust, Toce race pipes, and Glenn immediately wanted to know if I had gotten a proper tuning to ensure that my Air Fuel ration was proper to maximize performance. Glenn's suggestion was the Power Commander 5, and he reassured me that it would make it "feel like a different motorcycle". I had done a little previous research on Power Commanders among other small performance modifications, so I trusted Glenn's opinion. He beat the internet pricing on my PC5, and his quote for installation and tuning was exactly the amount it ended up being. His quote on how long it would take from start to finish was within 20 minutes, and it was actually 20 minutes faster. After watching my bike on the dyno, and watching Glenn meticulously keep changing information on the computer. I became excited and anxious. Glenn stepped down off of the dyno and had me come inside to pay. He then said "Take it up to the stop sign and around the corner and come back" , so I did what he said and rode my motorcycle. When I first sat down in the seat and cracked the throttle I noticed how much 'crisper' it was. Prior to the dyno the throttle had a laggy time feeling to it. I didn't even make it to the stop sign, and I could already tell the Glenn had transformed my motorcycle. I pulled back in and he asked my if I was happy, and I told him it felt completely different. He said "Good, because if it wasn't I would have put it back on the dyno" Glenn stands behind his work, and he is honest. That is hard to find anywhere in California. He took great care of my motorcycle, and he ensured I got the most bang for my buck. My CBR went from 102.44 peak horsepower to 109 peak horsepower. I also shaved 3 seconds off of my 0-max speed. He said I was running very rich, and that I should see improved gas mileage as well. I am very happy with the service and I will be back in 3k miles or so for my 15k mile service. North County Hypersports is THE place to go for your motorcycle. read more

They have worked on our 2013 Harley Road Glide, 2012 Harley Sportster, 2007 Yamaha R6, and 2008 Suzuki GSX-R600 over the four year period that we lived in Oceanside. Positives: quick turn around, fair prices, military friendly. Negatives: Glenn can be a bit gruff when you first meet him. Don't let that be off putting! He is a good guy and knows his way around a dyno. I just think they stay so busy that he doesn't have time for chit/chat. They are especially my favorite for quick things on the Harleys like mounting tires or an oil change. My husband and I each have a Harley We have been thru the dealers for work only to be disappointed with service, power, and the price. Hyper Sports was recommended by a co worker. This co worker is all about his bikes. He owns a number of different makes and models and brings all of them the Glenn. I trusted my co worker and took my Harley in. Since the day of purchase there had been issues but had been fixed and refixed. The dealer had said that this is indicative of Harley s. I love riding and wanted to be safe on the road so when I took it in I asked a lot of questions. Glenn did a once over on the bike and started asking me questions. By the time his review was complete we had a plan and an estimate. Glenn finished the work a day early and was on the estimate price. I test drove the bike and was ecstatic about the power and handling. The difference was night and day. The work and suggestions that Glenn had were 100 % right on. I love riding my bike now more than when I bought it. Now both my husband and I take our bikes there and won't go any where else.
