He was there a little over 2 weeks. In that time fell out of bed 3x's 2 trips by ambulance in less than 72 hrs to ER I went to visit this past Week and walked in to his Foley Catheter full of urine next to the chair his granddaughter was in. When I confronted Shift Nursing supervisor about why, " I'll make a note in the log and we'll have a retrain!!"So called wound nurse visited on Tuesday to treat the wound. He was released on Thursday afternoon and taken by ambulance Thursday night due to the infection had him in agonizing pain. Friday am after 14 hrs in ER it was determined hospice would be the option due to the severity of the infection and not being a surgical candidate. I wouldn't recommend having a band aid changed here.

She's young but her body is a prison because of multiple sclerosis. Even with 40 hours of at-home nursing care a week, we couldn't do it anymore. She has no strength at all, and we had to do everything for her, everything. It was time. She was distressed, in grief, heartbroken. And it was hard. But the people here made her feel pretty good. She saw that it wasn't a prison. She had the freedom to go where she wanted in her electric wheelchair. She spent her first night in the family room watching her favorite Red Sox on a big screen! Everyone was so nice here. Just stellar. They understood. It will take some time, but I think she'll be happy. This really is a great place. It's clean and large and there is so much to do! We recently had my aging parent there for rehab after a hospital stay. He just needed to get his…read morestrength back so he could go home. Each room has 2 beds, 2 tvs, and 1 bathroom shared with the room next door. Although we encountered nice staff and 3 very nice LNA/OT members (Judy, Justin, & Catherine), in general the Edgewood nursing team seemed to be very short-handed, too busy to answer patients, and a bit gruff. Pressing the call button would result in a 30-60 minute wait, leaving patients waiting for things like pain response and trips to and from the toilet. PT/OT is not very long or vigorous and my parent lost progress that had been gained at acute rehab. We will not return.
