I heard about this place through a friend of mine. She talked about how they were so kind, reliable and did such a great job on her car that she fully trusts them now as her go to mechanic's. I went right away, my brakes and rotors were completely messed up to where I was having a grinding sound when driving. Thankfully, when I got there, I was reassured that it would be within my budget to fix the front brakes. They also were super kind and understanding and allowed me to use their loaner car since my car had to be worked on and I didn't have the funds to pay within the same day. Honest, fair and reasonable service. I was really appreciative that they evaluated my vehicle and saved me $3,000 I might've spent elsewhere because it wasn't needed. Very glad I went to them for my first major car repair. Brian was very personable and accommodating even when stressed. He explained my options with clarity and consideration, and the alternator replacement was finished in less than a business day and very competitively priced. This place is a fucking joke I'm an 18 year old gurl who drives a Mercedes and when I walked in all they saw was daddy's money when in turn I'm paying for all my own shit that they quoted for my car.... my dad has a friend who used to work at a Mercedes mechanic and the special stuff fluid that they told me here that Mercedes has doesn't exhist they quoted me on stuff I don't need to fix at all and the one thing I need to fix does not need to be completely replaced. They left my car a fucking mess I have tan interior and it was gross and black and I had to get my car detailed after this place is so unprofessional I'm so bad I even spent 275 I want all that back so bad don't go here!!!! What a great honest shop! Was recommended to this place by a friend for a second opinion after another shop down the road gave me an astronomical quote (hint: avoid the shop that has PT Cruisers as loaner vehicles). Brian and his shop did fantastic work, and the bill came in under his estimate, which was WAY less than the other shop, and even did more work (new clutch)! Would give 4.5 stars, only because it took a couple days longer than expected to get my vehicle back, but with and older high mileage vehicle, sometimes you end up chasing leaks and takes a day or two to get parts each time. Can't fault the shop for that at all, but it's just inconvenient. read more

Seemed a little defensive. I have a bad head gasket. The shop doesn' t take estimates from other shops. Estimate is reasonable, comparatively- speaking. I am up to $238.00, shop labor and 4 sparkplugs. Running compression tests. I guess I will see. Already spent $260. 3rd time a charm? read more

Under new ownership and it shows. Use to be a great place to go and have great trustworthy repairs done. I needed some repairs and called to get a quote. Was told they'd call me back with it. After 24 hours had passed I called again. Talked to the new owner and he said he forgot and would call me by end of the day. That was 2 days ago and nothing still. Hard to find a good shop these days and I had found one which was recommended to me 5 years ago. With service like this one can only imagine what the repairs are like now. I would never take my car anywhere else. The first time I had an issue with my car I got a quote for $700 from a different repair shop on River Rd. My friend recommended North Eugene and they did the repair and changed my oil for a little over $300. Every mechanic I've talked to there has been really knowledgable and friendly. I bought a 1993 Honda Civic DX from Brian Slater and North Eugene Automotive for a reasonable price. There were a few things it need like an oxygen sensor, and he fixed them for free. I could not get the engine warning light to turn off so i took it to two shops, and they got the code, but could not figure out how to fix the problem. So six months after I bought the car, I took it to Brian to see if he could fix it. He and his mechanics spent a couple of hours on it, and it would go off and come back on. Totally frustrating. He then called up a shop that specialized in Hondas, and they came over, took the engine control module apart, replaced a resistor, and Voila! the light went off. I asked him how much i owed him and he said nothing It is refreshing to find an honest used car dealer, and one who stands behind the car he sells. I would highly recommend North Eugene Automotive to anybody who is looking for a reasonably priced used car, or is looking for mechanical repairs. read more
