This is a smaller practice as there aren't an entire list of Dr's but I have not had any issues with scheduling. I needed a wellness visit and was able to get an appointment for the very next day. In addition, when I initially established care, the process was quick and simple. I believe I waited about month for an appointment, but I expected this as I was a new patient. I have always been called back shortly after checking in. The nurses are good about communicating an approximate wait time (to see Dr. Blake) once I get back to the exam room. Dr. Blake is extremely knowledgeable. She is friendly and thorough. What I love most is that she takes the time to listen to my concerns. I also love that she takes notes on what I am saying so I am confident that her dictated note will accurately reflect my visit. The staff seem to care about the patients. They are knowledgeable and kind. Dr. Blake's nurse, Linda is great. We played phone tag one day and each time we missed each other, she called back. I have had experiences in the past, with other practices where it takes a few days for a returned call. Linda listened to my concerns via phone and even recommended some over the counter medication to address my symptoms. If you are looking for a primary care physician, I am confident that this practice accepts most insurance. They are highly recommended. I see a few reviews that only mention an office staff member not doing something with regards to…read moreprescriptions and I wanted to mention that prescriptions are refilled in several ways: You contact the pharmacist for a refill, you log onto the patient portal and submit a refill request, or you ask Dr. Smith to submit the refill while you are there in the office. I never had any issues with any of these three methods. I've been with Dr. Smith for twenty years, as has my daughter. She's always done the right thing, with thoughtful consideration of requests, a thorough knowledge of everyday healthcare issues and a concerted effort to learn more about healthcare issues that are less common. This has led to spot-on referrals to specialists as necessary. I could not begin to say enough about how delightful and wonderful Dr. Victoria Smith is as a doctor and much of her staff is pretty good as well. She does have healthcare students do their internships with her on occasion - so far, they've all been nice. As for the office staff - I, personally, have never had any issues with them. I have heard from my daughter that she doesn't always get the questions answered that she asks when she calls, but when I have her send the questions through the portal - she does get the results she wants. I'm not sure the turnover of secretaries there, so it may be the person who answered the phone when the review here was left (or when my daughter called) is not the same person anymore. I do know that judging Dr. Victoria Smith's practice based on one experience with a secretary is not a reflection of the overall experience I've had there for two decades. Also, any doctor won't know your experience with the secretary if you don't tell them. I know her well enough to know she'd have totally straightened out any situation that would impact the healthcare of her patients. She's got a huge heart.

We have been through some scary times with our treatment and I am grateful for Dr Marina who really seems to know what he is doing and for Dr Russell who has the best bedside manner of any doctor ever. The issue is the complete chaos that the offices are running in. It seems organized, but after many visits I can attest that it is not. We have had our orders misplaced numerous times and I have to remind the staff we are still waiting. if you have to call the doctor or to speak to a nurse, I wish you luck. I have attempted phone calls so many times and it is a full time job to first - get someone to answer. They don't. 2nd, if you leave a message about 50% of the time the messages will be delivered to a department in a completely different building/department/medical area or administration! I've been called back by digestive disease, maintenance, different doctor offices that aren't even in the cancer area..just to name a few. What is really bad about that is they tell you they will return your call in 24 hours- so if someone calls you back after waiting a day- you start the clock all over when you try again. There have been times that I have played the phone game for whole weeks. It is very frustrating and when you are dealing with such a serious diagnosis, that experience doesn't help. I feel like they are sorely understaffed. And I hope it isn't because they are trying to keep to a budget because after looking at the amount of money my insurance is paying for our treatment, I know they can afford a few more people to help!! I want to share this experience because there is an option in Tallahassee and I am wondering what our treatment days would be like if we had chose the other provider. I do want to give a shout out to the infusion center side. They must see hundreds of patients a day and do seem like a well oiled machine. However, they have had bad days too. Our meds always have to be prepared after we are in the seat and they have cleared us for treatment which means we have to wait for the pharmacy to make it. Some days this takes 30 minutes. That's how long it should take. So when we have to wait for two hours I know something is wrong and have to start asking. My advice, don't be afraid to ask if they now you're still waiting. They are busy and may not realize it. If you find yourself in the situation where you are looking at options for treatment, my best wishes to you and your family!!
