I initially called N. FL to install a hand pump for emergency sourcing of water. Bob Jr. was awesome in arranging time ASAP to help me. Didn't realize the system was back to 1990s. Bob Jr. was thoughtful and presented each piece for my evaluation for replacement. No Pressure but good education regarding life of the system- very appreciative for the crash course. I was so impressed with these guys!! They were very knowledgeable and patient. I originally had them come to add a water softener and filter to our well system. During the process they found problems with our pump and well pipes that were getting ready to leave us without water. It would have been a disaster! They explained everything to me and gave me the options that were available. I chose to replace the pump and pipes. When they pulled everything out of the well, they showed me what they had suspected was going on, and they had been right! We were very close to having no running water! What is even more amazing is that they got everything done in a couple of hours and didn't leave us hanging until another day! These guys are hard working and have years of experience. We recently found that our Alachua County water bill was outrageous, so we decided to have a water well drilled. We saw that our neighbors had wells, but they were constructed before they moved in, so they knew nothing about the well contractor. After contacting a few, I found one that absolutely shone - The McMillan family's company, North Florida Water Systems. When I called, Bob Mc Millan, Sr. answered directly - no messages or call backs! He took a lot of time to answer all of my questions, and assess my needs. He quoted a very fair price, and informed me about how he would drill the well. He, his son Bob, Jr, and their helper arrived exactly on time, as arranged. They carefully surveyed my property, and ensured that all of the utilities had been located an marked. They positioned their equipment, and wasted no time in completing my well - it far exceeded my expectations, and produces clean, fresh Floridan Aquifer water in quantities far greater than I thought it would! These folks are total gentlemen, and are committed to serving their customers - they have been around a long time, and now I know why. They used very modern drilling equipment, cleaned up the site well, and were extremely professional. It's obvious that the McMillans are people of their word - I received excellent value and service. I recently had water flow issues from my 30 year old well. After reading on line, I was convinced I needed a new well. I called NFWS because of the one review on this site. Bob McMillian, Sr. answered my call himself. Because my problem wasn't urgent, we scheduled an appointment. He and his son came out, they were exactly on time. They spent almost 3 hours at my house carefully testing my system. They corrected my problem. Gave me a proposal for a new well. But, told me that replacing my well wasn't absolutely necessary at this moment. Mr. McMillian told me my current system may continue to work fine, since their repair, for 20 years. (No one has a crystal ball.) Their service charge was extremely reasonable. Their quote for a new well was very reasonable. They are some of the nicest, most honest, truly concerned people I have ever met. I can't financially justify putting down a new well at this moment with my current system now performing fine. But, when I do, I will use North Florida Water Systems. read more
