Love the doctors and nurses here. Very kind and knowledgable. They are professional, and seem in earned with helping me deal with my physical and mental needs, which I appreciate! My only issue is the parking and knowing where to go. Appointment text says suite 202, but my appointment is on another floor in a different suite, so I have to go in, wait in line at the first suite only to be told I need to go somewhere else, and there is very little signage to help you figure out how to get there. read more

NP Allie Tallent, good luck getting a smile out of this one. I've seen her twice and she just always seems mad. Which especially sucks when you are in a solely female environment. if you have any reason to believe you will have fertility issues in the future, I DO NOT recommend visiting Dr. Haddock. I saw her for 3 years off birth control, trying to get pregnant, and within the span of those 3 years she did one test then told me that was all she could do and I'd need to see a fertility specialist. Knowing this may not be true, I went to a second opinion in town. I was diagnosed with PCOS within a month, and within 3 months had surgery to remove scar tissue from endometriosis AND a fallopian tube that was blocked as a direct result of her unwillingness to assist. Dr. Haddock truly is in the business of the "easy appointments" to roll patients in and out as fast as possible, so I will not be returning. read more

I've had a really great experience with this gyno! I had an exam and then got an IUD, and a follow up ultrasound and exam. Dr. Hinson is so incredibly warm and friendly and takes time to explain everything but also doesn't monopolize your time. Everyone I've encountered, from nurses to check in to ultrasound tech to the PA student that observed my exam, is so kind and caring, and they are all really wonderful. I highly recommend north Florida women's care. I was cautious that with this area being so conservative and religious, i might get some pushback about wanting an IUD but they have been nothing but professional, informative and caring. Dr. Lisa Engel is a fatphobe with a superiority complex. She is not well informed on PCOS but thinks she is and it comes across as condescending. She was not interested in my story, lifestyle, or understanding my issues-- she barely asked any questions about me. She assumed everything is because I'm overweight and is just another one of those doctors who think whats wrong with you is inherently because you're fat with an "unhealthy" diet. I heard her (or it could've been her assistant) say she saw me and saw that I was "bigger," seconds before entering the room to meet me. She had no hesitation over explaining simple concepts to me like I'm dense. Like are you kidding me?? She was also 2 hours late seeing me. Horrible care, uncomfortable, I left feeling triggered and that I was not valued as a patient. Don't come here. read more

Dr. Friall is my favorite. She is witty and knows her stuff. Like my reviews she will give it you straight and no chaser. The office staff has been very kind and understanding and the nurses answer all my calls and questions when I have them. I will warn that parking there can be a beast and make sure you have a single dollar bill to get out of the lot. I have heard they are willing to give you a "grace warning," but don't make it a habit of forgetting a dollar. All in all, I am very happy with my service at NFWC. read more

I'm pretty sure I've always already written a review about this place before but here is another one. So, I'm not sure how I found this place but I heard a lot of good things about doctor Byrd. Once I met him for the first time I was already nine months! I just wish that the ultrasound tech would have told me ahead of time what was wrong on the scan instead she scheduled me to go do another ultrasound at TMH. So, I'm completely clueless until the doctor walk in and tells me that I have to be induced because my baby was small. One thing medical employees have to understand is that not telling the mother what's wrong isn't helping her. I know that some times you don't want the mother to stress because it's bad for the baby but not telling her is worse! All and all, my experience here was always good! I Will NOT be returning. I went for a iud consultation mainly wanting information on pricing with my insurance. Right off the bat the front end staff was rude and incredulous at my questions. Then I waited for an hour before being seen. THEN I had to pee for a pregnancy test even though I explained that I just wanted information and wasn't sure when I would be going through with the iud. (They also mentioned that before I got the iud placed I would take another pregnancy test with them so in essence this pee test was pointless and apparently pricey.) I ended up seeing the doctor for all of one minute, he did not have the answers to my questions about cost nor did the front end staff afterwards. Months later they still have not returned my calls about pricing with my insurance which they assured me the would get, and ended up charging me and my insurance company a total of $350 for the "consultation". It was the biggest waste of time and I tried everything to get the information I needed. Very disappointed and will go elsewhere. read more

She may have a superiority complex and it's portrayed on how she provides care. She was not slow, patient or receptive at all. Hurt me during the process and seemed detached from me as the patient. I'm absolutely a little shocked by the low star reviews. I was seen throughout Tallahassee by many doctors who constantly dismissed me. After three years of persistent complaints was finally referred to NFWC. I ended up with Dr.Frial who has been both my gyno and my OB. She fine tuned my PCOS talked to me about Gastric sleeve and walked me through my pregnancy. She can be a bit short sometimes but looking back that was generally when I self diagnosed and didn't listen to her instructions. So can I really blame her? I have had some hiccups but honestly nothing ground breaking. I'm a difficult patient and the whole staff has handled me through STD fiascos, infertility, weight loss (I'm 110# down) and finally my miracle baby. I'm not a fake reviewer. She exhibited a lack of professionalism by failing to examine me and diagnose the condition accurately; instead she ignored professional process and would have left me with a useless appliance and a still undiagnosed and very uncomfortable condition. Further, in my opinion, her fragile ego makes dealing with her a very unreliable process. Nor do I wish to deal with the disorganized irresponsibility of the NFWC clinic again: interminable waiting; no clear caring for the conditions of people who turn to them for help; and resultant interminable schedules that do not take sufficiently into account the conditions and needs of the people who need them. I know it's really random to review your gynecologists office but I was impressed by this office so much I figured why not. This office is lovely. I was very ahppy with the burse that attended me, she was willing to chit chat with me and was very knowledgeable about the topics I wanted to ask her about. I was especially happy with my Dr. I see Dr. McKinnie and she is so nice and warmhearted. The people inside are just so happy to see you and grateful that you showed up to take care of yourself. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is that the receptionist I first dealt with was so rude, I was super annoyed. The rest of my experence was plesant but if you are going to call yourself or be called the premier gynecological and obstetrics clinic in Tallahassee don't hire people at the front that are rude. read more

Horrible Office. It's a 50/50 chance they'll actually answer the phone and more times than not they don't return calls. They had me return to the office following a biopsy just to talk to me for about 60 seconds and tell me that I'll have to come back in about a year...That 60 second conversation cost me $60. I asked about IUDs last time I was in there and the nurse was really nice, gave me a few different brochures and told me when I decided on the one I want to call their office the week before my period and they would verify it with my insurance and then I can make an appointment for that next week. I called 2 weeks early and was told it would take between 6-8 weeks to verify with my insurance....I called the next week and was told the nurse who writes the orders to give to the insurance for verification was not there so it had not been written. Later I recieved a letter from my insurance that my gynocoloist at that office was no longer in my network. So I stopped pursuing getting the IUD at that office. Now, about 2, 2 1/2 months later, I recieve a voicemail from their office asking if I was still interested in getting the IUD? I call back and it goes straight to the nurse I need to speak with's voicemail. That was last week around Tuesday/Wednesday...I still have not recieved a call back. I have called numerous times this week and it has constantly gone to voicemail. They never return calls, they make you wait forever and your appointment is never on time. And they do a pregancy test every time you go (they say as a courtesy), but you get charged for it on your statement. They are a terrible office and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Your care is dependent on their call volume. Their call volume is always high, or maybe they just don't answer the phones, I don't know. Most people are nice when you meet them in person, so yes, the staff is nice, but if you actually have a problem, and don't just need a check up, you won't be able to rely on them. You won't be able to get in touch with them, you won't be able to make an appointment. You won't have any sort of relationship with your doctor. You'll end up using other doctors knowledge to patch holes in the information you have because they won't get back to you. You won't be able to follow up with where you prescriptions might be. If you look through the reviews, you'll see that anyone that had an actual issue, had to find another doctor to be treated. These people with these five star reviews must have the doctors' direct cell phone numbers or something because thats the only way I can imagine you'd get any feedback. I usually see Dr. Friall, but I had an emergency and she wasn't available so I was seen by Dr.Sundstrom and what a blessing he was. He's VERY kind and personable, he listens to your concerns and takes your health and well-being as his primary responsibility; I can't say enough good things about this young doctor. Even my husband was very impressed with Dr. Sundstrom. The surgery was scheduled first thing in the morning the following day (he fought for that) and he did a great job at it. I will definitely request him next time if Dr. Friall is not available. read more

I was difficult to get an appointment. I finally got the appointment and they sent multiple reminders. You are required to confirm your visit and are asked to be 20 minutes early for parking. I arrived at the actual office 15 minutes early but was then sent to another floor where I waited perhaps 20 minutes to have vitals taken and to explain to a nurse the reason for my visit. I sent back out to wait for another 10, then finally taken to an exam room, where I continued to wait another 45 minutes. At no time did anyone come in to check on me or explain so I finally left. The takeaway: their time is valuable but your time is not. Very unprofessional. read more

I've been here quite a few times since I've moved to Tallahassee and I have NEVER had a problem with Dr. McKinnie. She gets five stars all the way HOWEVER... the front desk and the nurses are God awful. I can't tell you how many times I've experienced unprofessionalism at its worst. For example, during one appointment, the nurses were going on and on about how a lady was pregnant but wouldn't admit it and at that point I stopped listening. So beware! Your business will be out there. The front desk ALWAYS has an attitude. I have seen them go back and forth with each other and catch an attitude with me during check in. This is kind of personal: I had a pretty important appointment come up and was told that I would receive a call back within two weeks, two weeks being the latest. Today made two weeks and still nothing so I took the initiative and called them myself. I got connected with a nurse, Carol, who seemed agitated the second I started asking questions. I ask questions because I NEED clarification. I then ask her to be transferred to scheduling after learning absolutely nothing from her. She thinks she transferred me but instead, I was able to listen to her entire conversation with colleagues about how I was expecting too much, how she wasn't about to explain results to me, she acknowledged that she caught an attitude, and proceeded to talk crap about me. First, I am the patient and I am coming to you respectfully so the attitude was uncalled for. This is a very important call in my life yet she belittled me and made me feel like crap for even calling. I just wanted answers. Should I have heard the conversation with your colleagues? No. But did her incompetency keep her from transferring a call correctly, yes. So that's on her. Quit if you don't want to do your job. All that to say, I am extremely upset with this clinic, deeply hurt by the nurse's actions, and don't plan on returning. read more

I have been going here since I moved to Tallahassee 10 years ago as an undergrad. I've always had great experiences with the Doctors! Brickler, Kendra, Haddock, Jasmine, and Dixon all in particular. I had my two children with these doctors. Recently, the wait has gotten out of control. I have sat in the office multiple times between 45 minutes and 3 hours. One OB visit during my last pregnancy I had to use PTO because I was gone for a whole half a day, start to finish, for my appointment. And the phone connection is unacceptable. Last month, I experienced a miscarriage. When I first started spotting, I called the office and was on hold for over an hour before I got in touch with somebody only to then be transferred and on hold for another 30 minutes and required to leave a message. And this was at 8 AM. I ended up going to the emergency room and never got through to my doctor until I had to schedule a follow up to confirm the loss diagnosed at the ER. Worst experience ever when you are trying to get medical guidance from your OB as you are likely experiencing a pregnancy loss. The doctors are the best, I just wish they would do something about the other staff and wait times. read more

He's the best in town. Dr. Dixon delivered our daughter via cesarean in October 2005. He has a very kind demeanor and actually takes the time to get to know his patients and make them feel at ease. I don't even know where to begin. I trusted them and have used them for years, but recently they have been such a JOKE. they cancel appointments made months in advance only hours before. They put me on a new medication that has well-known side effects- when I call to ask if what I am experiencing is normal, they put me on hold for literally hours, or offer to call me back but never do...... I know I am not the only patient but they just cast me aside and do not care at ALL about things I am experiencing under THEIR watch. I am so frustrated and upset with them I don't even know what else to say. It makes me sad. I wouldn't recommend this health care facility to my worst enemy, they're very unprofessional and crooks. They will squeeze every penny from your pockets in the most deceitful way. I went in for a pap test and received a lab bill for $900 and a bill for North Florida Women's Care for $350. Please note my annual pap test is covered at 100%. I called my insurance company to ensure this wasn't an error. My insurance company told me that yes, normally these test I was billed for are covered in an annual pap test, but my doctor coded it differently. Therefore, I was billed separately, not as a pap test. When I called my doctor, I was told by his assistant/nurse that he coded it differently because he wasn't able to complete my full pap screening (using the speculum) due to scheduling, that's why he had me come back (5 business days later) to complete the other part of the pap since he didn't have tome to do the speculum part. So, I ended up visiting the doctor twice within two weeks. Please note these tests were general tests (STD, HPV) that are performed during your annual pap, yet he billed me separately for it. He could at the very least informed me of this, so I can make the decision to complete in one visit. Please note I had NO symptoms that required him to do this, all my tests returned negative. To this day, I still have no idea why he did that. I've never had my doctor perform a pap this way (I'm a healthy, early 30's women). I really feel this was done intentionally for financial gain. Nonetheless, I felt taken advantage of and found a new gynecologist. read more

I just had my annual check up - which is never really a pleasant experience, let's be real - but every step of the process was as painless as it could be, from scheduling the appointment over the phone to check out. This was my first appointment at a doctor in Tallahassee, as I've been schlepping back to jacksonville for all my medical needs since my student days. But since I'm reaching that ubiquitous age where I have to at least think about being an adult," I got some recommendations for OBGYNs in Tallahassee. I saw Anne-Marie Singleton, an ARNP, in order to get in faster, and she was fantastic- she was even receptive to the fact that I prefer natural methods of treating my PCOS, which isn't always the case for medical professionals. She took the time to review my history and some lab results I brought in even though it was just supposed to be the well-visit, and put in the order for me to follow up with a doctor to discuss everything more in depth. I am scheduled for a follow up appointment with Dr. McAlpine, and I'll update my review if my experience is anything different than the phenomenal service I received today. read more

They are good doctors, but those of us who work full time and have children, this is not the right place for you. They will make you wait months on end for an appointment and then when you finally do get one, you will wait for hours in the waiting room. If you need something or to refill a prescription between visits, you are told to come in a wait for a doctor that is not yours or to see an NP just as long as you have for your primary doctor. I don't know about you, but when it comes to GYN, you don't want a stranger. I have been going to this practice for over 15 years, had 2 children and still can't stand setting the appointments and the wait in the waiting room. Time for a change! read more
