I had such high hopes for the Confetti Cupcake Boutique. I visited South Carolina in the March of…read more2015 and left with plans to celebrate my birthday with my dear friend from college. A month prior to our celebratory event we finalized what we desired to celebrate our Cancer Zodiac birthdays. We sought out to find a baker to deliver our desired cake with cupcakes. I received a quote of the crab bucket cake of $195.00 and crab cupcakes at 42.95 a dozen. As I thought about the fete, I decided not to order the cake but the cupcakes as I had not tasted this bakery's desserts. The cupcakes were described to be costly as the crabs, small cobs of corn and shell crackers would each be hand sculpted. The crabs were to be more than half the size of the cupcakes. The one thing that request for my birthday is a cake. Therefore, since I was having cupcakes it was quite important to me. I asked my sister to pick up the cupcakes and bring them to the party as fate would have it I would arrive in South Carolina later than my anticipated arrival time. She answered my call and said the cupcakes would be a part of my birthday gift. The cupcakes arrived and as quickly as my joy came it diminished to shock. The crab was a Cricut Cake cutout not hand sculpted as promised. I soon realized I was over charged. It came time to sing happy birthday and bite into the cupcake. The icing not in the correct color was hard and the red velvet cake was dry and crumbled like cornbread from my small bite and just stood stiff. The small bite was so horrible as much as I love cake; I couldn't take another bite of this inedible cupcake. My facial expression must have shown the lack of quality of the cupcakes, because not one of my guest asked or attempted to try a cupcake. My sister has attempted to follow up with the owner by telephone call and visiting the closed shop due to renovations to no avail. Therefore, I have emailed the owner to resolve the matter with my sister as soon as possible. I am still hopeful that she will resolve the matter. I will do a follow up review in two (02) weeks to this regard.
