We always try to eat at local owned businesses rather than chain places. I found this on Yelp while traveling through and decided to give it a try. It's easy to miss as the parking and entrance is in the back. The lunch menu has a good selection and the food is delicious. The service was so friendly and right on time. The atmosphere is plain and quirky with weird wall colors but it also makes it a super easy and casual place to be. We will definitely make a point to stop on our way through next time. read more

The food here is very, very good. The staff is really nice. The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend the chicken bites as they are wonderful. You can mix half and half if you wish. The burgers are very good and very big. I've never eaten the breakfast here, but from what I hear, it's really good too. The only complaint that we have is that they aren't open on Saturday or Sunday. I understand it's hard to get help these days, so it's out of their control. read more

I arrived when there was hardly anyone inside eating. I waited for my food while people that came in after and ordered received their food first. The waitress insisted "you're order is coming up next." 30 minutes later, I considered to pay for my drink and leave. Finally, after 45 minutes I received my burger. A great find! Stopped here with my family on a road trip during a hurricane evacuation. Yep it's a hole on the wall (concrete floor, garish paint job, no frills) but the short order cook is a chef! If you're looking for a $5-6 lunch that's dee-lish then this is the place. The chicken salad sandwich is a solid choice but the blackened tuna melt was mouth watering. The fried shrimp and corn fritter special was cooked to perfection in a simple flour batter and radiated with flavor. I would stop here again just for the fries. Everything's served in paper dishes. It has been awhile since Ive been here, but my family was traveling through Swansea, and this was absolutely one of the worst experiences Ive had at a restaurant. I never received my side items for my meal, just the omelet, and we were over charged. Instead of 5.99, we were charged 8.00 for each of our meals. Watch out for that next time you go. read more

I love finding small restaurants in small towns and this place fit the bill. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Club (hold the tomato) which comes with a bag of chips and some slices of pickle. I found the buffalo sauce was a bit overwhelming and covered up the flavour of the bacon to the point that I could not taste the bacon. The blue cheese was nice though. Yes you do have to wait a little bit but any time you're not at a massive factory restaurant, you should expect to wait. read more

The food is good but only after it is made right. When they mess up they just go back there and wash it off and put a different sauce on it. Owner gets mad when you order something that is on the menu and he messes up. He yells talking about the customers while in the kitchen. Staff is great.. Owner not so much. Seriously don't bother. Even though the food is good...it takes forever to get it. The last couple times I have been there it has just taken way too long from the time my order was placed to when I actually got my food. Last time I ordered 2 chicken bite plates to go. Took over a half hour to fry chicken and fries. Tonight; salad, chicken bites and a hot dog plate. Got my food just short of an hour from when I walked in. The wait staff is abominable. The girl who waited on my family tonight came to my table a total of 3 times in the just over hour and a half I was there. The 4th time I had to put my hand in front of her to get her attention to ask her again for the same thing I had asked for 10 mins earlier. Then I had to get up and go to the counter to ask her for a to go box. I understand the place was a little busy and she was the only waitress. However, this place is not that big that it should warrant more than one waitress. I feel she knew she had already irritated me by me having to ask for the same thing more than once and just was trying to ignore us. If you didn't grow up in the area and know the staff you're not going to get attentive service. Even when I have made complaints they always have an excuse. Whether it's new staff or they're "really busy." I just don't buy it. The service is just too consistently bad for it to be an off day. read more
