Reason why I gave 4 star instead of 5 star is because it was advertised to be open on Christmas Day when checking online, but was actually closed after driving over to the store. The owner very friendly and truly keeps his business very competitive & does a good job passing the savings he gets on to the customer, even above all the other top retailers in the area. My mother enjoys wine & was telling me how she goes there to buy and likes the low prices here and how nice the owner is besides. I never talked about West Ridge Liquor to her until she suddenly mentioned it offhandedly about how she liked.. Very nice shopping atmosphere in this store as they let you browse around do not bother you. I am a careful browser and sometimes it takes awhile for me to make up my mind what i want to buy. It's been awhile since i have been drinking wine but when i was i would always go here for my purchases. It is well worth going out of my way to pick up your supplies. I would even walk for 1 1/2 miles each way when i didn't have a car, even when there were liquor stores right down the street on Dewey Avenue because the prices always lower than anywhere else. Plus, there's a few other good stores in the plaza where West Ridge Liquor is located to do more shopping if needed.

When I pulled up the owner was standing outside clearly aggravated and as I pulled into the parking spot he threw his hands up and walked back inside. I didn't think much of it so I continued to park and as I waIked in, there was a woman at the register ready to pay for her stuff and the owner starting ranting out loud about how next week when customers come they will be standing on the other side of a glass wall and he's going to have bulletproof glass in front... confused I asked "what happen?" His response was that he's sick of "the blacks"! And he's gonna put up a glass wall like the ones "the blacks" are used to in the ghetto... I turned around to put my bottle back he said "no offense to you" I didn't even respond I just started to walk out he said to me "go ahead, go to the ghetto then". He was then caught on video minutes later saying that blacks are his problem but wouldn't repeat exactly what he said earlier because he knew he was being recorded this time.
