I brought my cat in for blood work, and when returning from the back room of this vet, he had a broken femur that had broken off from his hip. He was a completely capable cat going into this. When getting my cat back from the back room, we pointed out that he could not walk normally how he could before. We pointed this out to the vet and the vet cited arthritis as the cause of him not being able to walk. My wife and I were more concerned because he had never acted like this before. Dr. Brown then hesitantly recommended going to get an x-ray to see what maybe the cause while simultaneously inferring that arthritis could be the cause of his inability to walk. We went down the road to get an x-ray and it turns out that they had snapped his femur from his hip joint while under their care. When we asked about this, they were very hesitant and said they had to contact their insurance agents before answering any further questions. Dr. Brown then later came to us, confirming that his femur had been snapped and ushering us to get him euthanized, even though we had originally came in for simple bloodwork. Now my cat is lying next to me with his femur snapped as we wait to get a second opinion on what we can do while they try to cover their tracks on what they've done wrong. I highly do not recommend this for they have inexperienced that tax who will manhandle your animals behind the scenes without cameras and then become very KG when they are returned with exterior injuries. I say this as a cat dad of many years, who loves and cares for his animals and who would give nothing else for a cowboy, my cat, to be OK just like he was before visiting this vet for simple bloodwork. This vet needs to be investigated for malpractice in the very least. read more

Dr Brown is an amazing veterinarian and person. She was very compassionate when we had to euthanize our beloved doggy. She experienced very similar loss with one of her own dogs so she totally understood our pain. We take all of our pets here. I walked in w/ a new puppy to check for a chip and explain the circumstances. The front desk staff was so nice and wanted to examine her before she was exposed to our other fur family. Even though they could not do the examination immediately, we were seen a few hours later. North Hardin is easy to access from Dixie Highway and has ample parking. They share a building w/ other businesses but there isn't any kind of over advertisement, etc. The outside building is very clean and the sidewalk/parking lot is free of debris and trash. The foliage and lawn are well kept and manicured. The flowers at the entrances make it very inviting. The inside waiting area is an acceptable size w/seating to accommodate multiple patrons. There are beautiful pictures decorating the walls w/ different types of information for pets. Products are displayed in the waiting area but the majority is behind the counter. I appreciate this because when there are times I cannot acquire childcare and I have them in tow, thats one less stress (children touching merchandise and removing it from their shelves). There is a sign on the check-in/out counter to inform patrons that there is a fellow family having to say goodbye to their four legged family member when the electronic candle is illuminated. The exam room was very neat, tidy and clean. As well as w/ the waiting area, the room is not cluttered w/ unnecessary items. Our Vet Tech and doctor were VERY personable, professional and knowledgeable. They took time to listen and then to come up w/ a plan of care for the future regarding our new fur family member. I felt well informed and confident after our visit. The check out process was very smooth and I didn't feel pressured to purchase optional items other than what was recommended for ear cleaning and NexGuard. Our family will continue to be loyal patrons because we are always treated well and w/ respect. I would definitely recommend this particular veterinary clinic for its awesome customer service, love and care for animals, it's prices and over all greatness! read more

I was a customer since 2011. Both my dogs Rio and Yumi were their long term customers until death. They are VERY over priced with terrible customer service. I was able to get all the medications and supplements from Chewy at half their prices. I have seen their customer service went down the hill as the years went by, especially since Claire retired. Their medications are over priced. They over charged me on my Paw plans with NO explanation. I left numerous messages for a return call but they were ALWAYS busy. They sent a "text" to my house phone to ask me for more money! Their manager Monica was very unprofessional and insensitive. She had no sympathy about me losing my dog. All she wanted was to ask for more money and if I do not pay, she would send to collections. My Yumi passed away on 25 December, no sympathy card from them. My Yumi was a patient there for 9.5 years! I've since received sympathy cards and flowers from Metropolitan Vet in Louisville and Chewy. This place is all about money! Very disappointed especially after being a loyal customer for over a decade! DO NOT bring your pets there! read more

Honestly the only two reasons I picked this place, was because of the hours they are open ( until 8pm on Tuesday and open Saturday at 8am) and because i knew where it was and knew it would not be a longer drive into E-town with my dog in the car. So I called and made an appt. Very Friendly staff from the phone call which always makes you feel better when picking a name out of a phone book. We got all set up and appt made. I had to take my dogs separately cause they two can be hard to handle with only one owner. Anyways the First appt. Went super well, my dog was so happy just to have people giving her attention. They were very nice and didn't do the typical vet thing of you have to buy this food, or have this shot or procedure guilt trip. I was there to get the required shots to keep my dogs healthy and have them caught up in case we had to board them during our PCS out of Fort Knox. So getting back to the point I was very glad they understood we were just getting shots and not much else. The second appt. with my other dog was on a different day so different staff. Again very friendly at the front desk, my dog was convinced that if she stood by the door in the waiting room she would be able to go out and get away from the vet office. Seeing my struggle with keeping her from the door, the front desk lady ( really lack for a better term here) offered to have us go into a room directly so i could let her walk around a bit and be more comfy. That was customer service and I loved it. Again super friendly vet tech and vet, and got some tips to help with keeping my dog clean being a basset hound and very low to the ground she seems to collect dirt and whatever else, so I was happy to have some good ways to help with that. This place really is as good as it gets! The hours make it very easy to come after work or a Saturday morning. read more

We needed emergency care after our two dogs got into a scuffle. Our normal vet care is on post but they do not offer emergency services. The vet and the staff were wonderful and kind. They took wonderful care of our boy. They also didn't try and sell us anything we didn't need or look for ways to overcharge us. Returned to North Hardin Veterinary Clinic with one of my dogs for a physical and shots in preparation to attend obedience school. I was able to get our vet and an Appt. the next day in the time of day I wanted!! I got in and saw Dr. Reed was her normal friendly self and an assistant who quickly got to work! In a short time vitals, weight and vacinations were completed and we discussed how he was doing at home, sleeping, eating, drinking, etc. The clinic is always clean, staff friendly, getting appointments with your desired Veterinarian and reasonable cost are why we have always taken our fur babies to North Hardin Veterinary Clinic for years and continue taking our 4 dogs and our 1 cat for health care!! We will always take our babies there as long as Dr. Olivia Reed works in that practice! read more
