The park needs massive renovation/upkeep- particularly in the disc golf area. There are weeds, stickers, trash in the more dense area, signs missing where the disc golf goal is, and even a homeless person with a tent RIGHT UNDER ONE OF THE GOALS! So for now that goal is unusable... I'm thankful for this to even exist but it's gotten out of hand that even though I live closest to this I'm tempted to go elsewhere. But for the rest of the park- it is truly amazing- a driving range, tennis, fishing area- I'm thankful- but city of Denton please restore the disc golf course! read more

North Lakes Park has been a great resource for me and my family and friends who visit during the year; it features the Tennis Center, which is hard asphalt regulation tennis courts that are free to the public during the day. A central feature is the park's paved jogging trails, which includes a model airplane flying center, and the city's recycling center and even a dog park, at the extreme end of the system. The city's Police Department features great officers who can help via 911 Phone Calls, 24/7. Fortunately for the residents who live close by, response times are prioritized by the severity of the situation and the need for urgent assistance. Denton, Texas is going to grow with respect to the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington area by virtue of the local attractions offered to the voting public's attention to the very positive thing that green spaces offer to the people. Beautiful dog park. We visit twice a day. The trails are beautiful and the people are lovely

Just off Bonnie Brae and down Windsor is an assortment of activity that makes up North Lakes Park. You will see a large park with a playground and a long, paved walking path, planted trees, a golf course, a rec center, etc. There is even a recycling area at the end, but it doesn't really fit in with the motif of the park. I personally like to go to the small section off Bonnie Brae where a small lake is located. It's quite peaceful and never too crowded. We typically see a handful of people there and they are either fishing or jogging the gravel path. There are several paths into a wooded area that I occasionally see someone hiking, but everything I've explored is relatively flat, so it's easy. There are a lot of ducks and birds there, they are really friendly because they expect you to feed them. If you're scared of birds, you've been warned. They even have a piece of the original county line road bridge that has been moved there with a historical marker! A majority of the trees are quite mature, so it feels like a real escape. Sometimes we just stop by for a little while to semi-picnic and look at nature. It appears small from the road, but it has enough sections spread out that you're never disturbed by others. It's nothing crazy impressive, but it's nice to have a little serenity in the midst of all the traffic and construction. read more

Peaceful respite within a very short drive of civilization. The sounds of traffic are clearly audible. Fishing allowed in the little ponds, drive up to the water or brave the walk around the edges. Wish I'd brought my bike, as there Is a trail running through the large area. read more

Great dog park and always my first choice. One thing that people don't understand is DONT BRING YOUR LITTLE CHILDREN INTO THE BIG DOG PEN!!!! As a parent, I think you should be aware that your little kids can be knocked down and chased. I have a large puppy I always bring to the park and never has any problems with the adults or other dogs. I see a little child walk in and excites the dogs to jump around and get too rough for little children to handle. My puppy accidentally knocks the child over and I look like the bad guy and has to leave... read more

Came here for a mid-morning run since the sun finally decided to break through today! Even after lots of rain and snow the past few weeks, this park was great to run in since they have some paved sidewalks. They do also have a gravel trail as well, but it was still muddy in some parts. Only downside is the sidewalk seemed to end after awhile. Not sure if I just needed to keep going to find where it connects, but it doesn't seem to go around the entire park. It's right across from the North Lakes Rec center and there's also a place where it appears they hold air shows. They also have picnic tables, children's play area and some baseball fields. Will continue to visit as long as my friend, the sun, continues to visit as well! read more

Spent last weekend doing an engagement shoot here - and it was a blast! The park received a torrential downpour the night before, and even sopping wet, it provided a great backdrop. There is a little dock... for... some reason - I'm not sure since there was a 'beware of snakes' sign next to it. But I definitely saw someone sitting in a paddle boat thing in the middle of the baby lake. Maybe he is snake hunting? Yes. God bless Texas, right? The park can't handle water very well. There are spots where it looks like it can easily get flooded. The playground looks nice and stable. The seating area were ample. If I lived closer, I'd definitely host a few barbecues there. There is a little trail on a dirt hump that is a nice walk. All in all, this is a solid park. read more

This park is amazing! I love the trails, the pond, and the airfield. When I didn't want to drive all the way across town to Wiggly Field, I take my dog to the airfield (later in the evening when no one is out) so she can run around and take a trip along the trails. The property is beautiful and just a great place to spend the day! read more

We live close to this park. It has a nore natural expression than South Lakes Park, even though both have their charm. It's a great place for neighborhood fishing, walking trails, and having picnics. It is also one of the best locations in Denton to see fireworks on the 4th of July. Watch out for knats. Nature's charm come with consequences when being ill-prepared. The playground is mediocre, but the soccer, baseball, drone, and other amenities are worth the visit. This may be my favorite park in Denton. read more
