This sprawling park has paved trails with inner and outer loops spanning about three miles, plus loads of other amenities, including tennis courts, volleyball nets, a catch-and-release fishing pond, gazebos, and the well-crafted Eureka playground. There were already dozens of joggers, dog walkers, and parents with toddlers out and about at South Lakes by late Saturday morning in January, when the temperature had just nudged up to 50 degrees. A central feature is the park's paved jogging trails, which includes a model airplane flying center, and the city's recycling center and even a dog park, at the extreme end of the system. The city's Police Department features great officers who can help via 911 Phone Calls, 24/7. Fortunately for the residents who live close by, response times are prioritized by the severity of the situation and the need for urgent assistance. Denton, Texas is going to grow with respect to the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington area by virtue of the local attractions offered to the voting public's attention to the very positive thing that green spaces offer to the people. It feels magical and modern all at once! The 3-5 year old area is fantastic and actually very suitable for even younger toddlers. It features modern spinning devices (think 21st-century merry-go-rounds), cool designs on the ground, and great climbing structures. A huge shoutout for the swings--they actually have secured seatbelts, which is such a thoughtful touch for safety and peace of mind. The area for older children is next-level. It has more challenging climbers, three slides, and... wait for it... a ZIP LINE! It's the highlight of the park. Parents can give a push for extra speed or just let go for a slower ride. My friend helped her daughter on at one end, and I was able to meet her at the finish. The park is incredibly clean, and the families there were friendly and attentive. There are grassy areas (outside of the playground) perfect for a picnic, a pavilion for parties, and even a couple of dog parks for the furry babies. One Pro-Tip: The restrooms are a bit of a trek. They aren't right next to the playground, so you'll want to plan those "potty breaks" a few minutes before they become an emergency! Honestly, if I could come back as a child, this is exactly where I'd want to play. It's a gem of a park!

One of the best baseball fields to play at in my opinion out of several other locations we've been to. Covered bleacher seating for guests and room for your own chairs if you choose to sit closer to the baseline areas on each side (home and visitor). Clean bathrooms and just overall, the park areas are well kept. Amazing playground for kids/players to hang out. Fields are labeled to find easier. Amazing concession with fresh grilled food you can order (burgers, sausage on a stick, etc). We also had the opportunity to visit and play at the Softball Complex fields. Very nice fields and a batting cage area before the main entrance (on the small parking lot side). At these fields the sun comes in way more even with some of the covered bleacher seating (Bring your portable fans, stadium chairs for convenience, small cooler, etc.). Not as much room for your own chairs at these fields like the other baseball fields. Some of our team parents sat behind the last row of bleachers, near the trash cans so it was kinda tight. Plus when people walk back and forth it can get more crowded. There are also small areas with turf next to the bleachers that is good for bringing blankets to sit/lay (good area for smaller kids, teens and even adults if you like the picnic style type of seating/vibe.

It was named after Wayne Ferguson, a former mayor with a true git-r-done attitude. We love the events that are held at the plaza, particularly the Sounds of Lewisville Concert Series. They bring in bands that are based locally and from farther cities. Always enjoyable and appreciated. We couldn't be happier that the concert series has been brought back this year. Having outdoor events lifts our spirits as we move back to life before the pandemic.

There are 4 larger slides, a lazy river, and a kid play area. The Natatorium is also located here. Inside there is a smaller water slide, diving boards, and swimming lanes. They sell basic water things you may need to buy, a few items for lunch/snack, ice cream, and snow cones. There are also lockers to rent if you need one. The staff is usually friendly and helpful. Haven't had any problems here. It's nice for a small waterpark, and great that there is one in town.
