The city does an excellent job of keeping the 3 dog parks pristine. Small, medium, and large dogs are all given their own space to go on zoomies. Water fountains are provided. We are across the way from them at Toll Brothers Parkvue Denton. You couldn't live in a more luscious spot. Green, private, great dog people, it's perfect on a 64 acre, Army Corp of Engineers property, never to be developed. read more

Our favorite dog park in Denton because of the sand pit. My dog absolutely loves the sandpit. Would highly recommend only going in the morning. In the afternoon/evening the owners are much less vigilant. The few times we've been here in the evening, there have been more aggressive dogs with owners that are stare at their phone or are reading a book. The morning crowd here is fantastic. The other pet owners remember your dogs name and make it feel like a great community. read more

Our favorite place to be! The recent remodeling is excellent! We now have, sprinklers, a paved sand area around the picnic tables and a well-functioning and easily accessible water fountain in the shape of a fire hydrant. How funny! There are three fenced areas, Big/Small dog and the third one is for birthday parties. No I'm kidding. However I can't say we didn't throw down on Charlie's 1st Birthday ;). The nature trails beyond the park are spacious and enchanting. The four-legged kids are sure to enjoy reconnecting with their wild side, or at least the ponds and squirrels! This place is amazing! I do really like the separate areas for small and big dogs. My dog had an absolute blast! There are a couple of great shady spots to sit so we weren't completely roasting in the Texas sun. read more

The park itself is great, the problem are the other people. Our dog has been attacked multiple times, and the owners didn't seem to care. I see small dogs and small children let loose in the big dog side of the part, I see unfixed animals in heat, and people do not clean up after their dogs as they should. Lots of holes dug too. People let their dogs loose outside of the pin, making big piles of poo all over the place. The facilities themselves are fine. Good size park, with a private pin in the middle. A place to swim and lots of hiking areas. If only the people using it weren't so bad. read more

Wiggly Field is accommodating to all types of dogs and provides plenty of space for dogs to run around and play together. There's an area for larger dogs, one for small dogs, and a section for those that aren't quite ready to interact with a lot of dogs yet. I guess you could call that area the "training" area. Not only are there fenced in areas, but there are also trails and a pond where you can take your dog too. There's plenty of shaded areas and benches to sit on too while you let your dog roam. Our pups love Wiggly Field! They actually have 3 separate areas for different sized dogs. Our dogs are large so we always go to the larger area. There are big trees to provide shade, picnic tables & benches to relax on, and even a water fountain for you and your pup. Its a very large area for your furry friend to run and chase balls or friends. Behind the dog park is a little pond if your dog likes to swim. There are also a lot of trails to get a little off-the-beaten-path action. Just beware of snakes! Plenty of parking and we always feel safe going there. Most people keep a good eye on their dog so not many dog fights. There are even a few bag stations so that you can scoop the poop. Unfortunately a lot of people still just leave the poop for you to step in (not cool people!). We have been here numerous times and will continue to take our little loved ones! read more

Fun dog park... roomy for running and playing. Coming into the park from the parking lot is pretty bad with dog poop that people do not pick up and that's really disgusting. Wish people were more considerate. For people that have dogs that dry easily, there is a lake right outside the back of the park and it's so fun. My huskies would be stinky in the way home if I let them go in but maybe someday when I can bathe them directly after. I have to take away one star just for a stagnant mud puddle inside the park where my dogs seems to gravitate towards. Once they had to wade in it and that's how I found out about it. I had to take them up the street for a bath before I could bring them home and was sad from the smell in my car. Why don't the full it up with rocks or something to get rid of it? Please! I'm went yesterday for the first time in a while since it's been too hot for my dog to comfortably run about, and the weather is changing for fall. I was very sad to see that the little lake is gone. My dogs enjoy coming here occasionally to roam around, sniff some other dogs, swim, and relax. There are dog bag stations, which are almost always full, large trees to provide shade, picnic tables and benches to sit at (don't think about picnicking inside the fence), an area for large dogs, and an area for small dogs. The areas are large and offer plenty of running room. There is a people and dog water fountain to use also. There's a pond behind the gates of your dog would like to take a swim, and many trail around the park you can take them to explore. It is very crowded here on beautiful days, as it should be. Of the many years I've been coming here, I've only had a handful of negative experiences-would be nice if more visitors would clean up after their dogs, and always make sure aggressive dogs are leashed to keep them from harming others. read more

Great park! Plenty of water bowls and a fountain, good assortment of balls available for fetch. Lots of room for dogs to run and awesome trail system right outside the park to hike (no trail markers though so bring your phone or something to navigate). Highly recommend! read more

Okay Jasmine, reading your post made me die a little on the inside. This spot is precious to me personally for many reasons, and that's all that matters. Me. I believe the colloquial name of this place is "Wiggly Field", and I have no idea where it originated, but I practically raised my pooch here. This is where baby was mauled for the first time; where he vomited for the first time; where he learned how to swim. Aww. This is the best dog park in Denton by far. Times a million. The place is divided into sections. There's a baby doggie section, a big doggie section, and a questionable shrug-your-shoulders-who-knows section. Some people do get confused on which is which, but if you can see and understand the pictorial diagrams at the entrance to the parks, then you should be just fine. I know that might be tough for some.. AHEM. So the park is just the beginning. Not only is it fenced, but it's HUGE. In the back section, there is a mini-lake where Mr. Bode was thrown into one hot August morning. THEN, if you keep walking down the trails, it leads to a much larger lake perfect for fishing or doggie swimming. The trails lead all over and from what I hear connect to other neighborhoods in Corinth, and are all off leash. The only down side I could see is the geriatric community connected to the large lake. You gotta really look out for your doggie if you take him over there and he is feisty. Once we ran into a silver fox who walking around with his cane, popping pills etc, and Bode tried to give him a good morning pounce. I swear to god I think that oldie cast a spell on us afterward. Anywho, I just had to take a second to reminisce in the memories of this lovely piece of Denton. I don't have many fond memories from my college years in this city, but you can count Wiggly Field as top 3. read more

This is a pretty good dog park. My Skittles and I went and she loves to be around other dogs and rarely plays with them because she's a chasee. This is pretty large size dog park with three separate areas large, small, activity play areas. When I went, which was last Saturday, there were more medium/large dogs as to small dogs there. I had to take Skittles into the large area, which she ran around and did her own thing. I like the fact that this dog park is fenced in area with some trees and they proivde bags. The one thing I did not like which disgusted me was how people did not even bother to clean up after their dogs. I wanted to sit on the grass and watch my babes run around but it was hard for me to find a spot to actually sit without finding poop. It was even more horrific when people knew their dog was pooping and did nothing about it. I felt that even though Boston/Brookline, MA dog parks are small and all the dogs are jumble together...its way cleaner. People actually clean up. I knocked off two stars for irresponsible pet owners. Otherwise I wouldn't mind bringing Skittles with me with a chair. read more

I love this park. I'm not really sure how I would get along without it, and I feel really spoiled to have it too. I went to a dog park in Dallas after raising my puppy at this Denton one, and it just wasn't the same. The set-up was lame and the grass wasn't well maintained-was mainly just dirt. There was water, but not a beautiful pond, and there were no trails to hike around on. They have done a great job on keeping the Denton park up and again, it's been so important to me raising my pup. I don't feel a need to knock off stars for the park because of irresponsible dog owners. The City of Denton cannot help that some people are disrespectful and choose not to take care of such a amazing place to have in Denton. I do however want to knock off just 1 star, because the city does not come and maintain the park during the hours they have posted on all the signs. 7-3:30 every Wednesday the park is supposed to be closed for maintenance (mowing, picking up poop, etc). Multiple times I have been there and the mowers just decided to show up, and come in the gates without worry, starting their mowers and leaving the gates open behind them. I feel that this park would be worth 5 stars if they could just pay more attention to the maintenance schedule. It's kind of important that doggies don't get run over by the mowers, you know =/. read more

Isn't this place called Wiggly Field? Anyway - my dogs LOVE this place. Especially the most recent time we came here there were TONS of dogs all over the place and plenty of little guys for them to romp with. They divide the park into 3 pens - one for dogs under 40 pounds one for dogs over 40 pounds and one for shy dogs. There is also a pond out back and running water in all 3 pens. Keep in mind, there are LOTS of big dogs in Denton, so if you have your eye on the over 40 pen, then be prepared for German Shepherds, Malamutes, Huskies, etc... read more

Wiggly Field is a bit of a drive for the Dallasite, but it's the best dog park I've found. It has a huge large dog area, a good-sized small dog area and even an area for the shy, unsocial dogs. There are tons of picnic tables to sit at, lots of shady trees to perch under and a few water fountains (for both the dogs and the humans). If your dog is water lover or just needs to cool down from the Texas heat, there's a small pond in the back that they can go swimming on. One note though, the pond isn't fenced in, so if your dogs are the run-away-as-soon-as-they're-free type (like mine), I wouldn't recommend taking them to the pond. The people are nice and friendly, and everyone loves to chat about the pups as they play. read more

I don't know why this park is called Lake Forest Dog Park...the signs even call it Wiggly Field (cute) I haven't been to a plethora of dog parks, but I have been to a few, and I really like this one. There's plenty of room (two different areas for large and small dogs). It is well maintained. Even though not everyone picks up after their dogs like they should (I know unbelievable isn't it), the park staff keep the areas clean and regularly mowed. They also have some really nice sized trees, benches, and picnic tables too. There is water available and poop bags readily available (no excuses, lol). Outside the fenced-in areas are a few nice pond areas for the water loving canines and some nice trails into the heavily wooded areas too. read more

I absolutely LOVE this dog park! My dog loves this dog park. Yes, people are pretty lax about picking up after their dog, but that happens at EVERY dog park so I can't find evidence enough to downgrade my rating for that. Yes, fights happen here, but we are also putting a lot of dogs with different personalities in a relatively small space so, once again, this happens at ANY dog park. Can't lessen my rating for that. I can understand why people don't like others bringing their small children to this park, and I can agree. This is probably not the best place for children, but once again, any dog park that happens AND that has nothing to do with the park itself. I LOVE that this park has a pond and trails behind it. People need to keep in mind that even this part of the park is a part of the dog park. Dogs will be off leash back here. I can understand people's concern, but if you're so scared of dogs being off leash, you probably shouldn't be frequenting a dog park. Overall, i LOVE this dog park and recommend it to everyone with a pooch! read more

We LOVE this place! Really spacious as far as dog parks go, and I often see a large amount of dogs there for mine to play with. I love the atmosphere and the scenery -- we always have a great time and see a lot of other regulars there. Biggest complaint: no one cleans up after their dogs! It's disgusting. The last time we were there, our dog ended up getting sick the very same day and the vet said it was probably from the dog park since everyone leaves their dog's stuff everywhere. My dogs love a trip to Wiggly Field. We only go to the small dog park, because we live in a small dog world. The pups play together and good time is had by all. Sucky people don't clean up after their dogs, but I just watch my step. So far, I have been impressed with the dog manners and responsibility of the owners. read more

There is plenty of parking, lots of shade trees. All in all this is a good park. The issue is with other dog owners not picking up after their dogs, and not ensuring their dogs are friendly prior to letting them off leash. Between stomping in gross things and having to pull another dog off of mine and several others - more than a few times - it's not always fun for us. Please pick up after your dogs. Please ensure your dogs have decent manners. read more

This place is great. Pro. Great space. The lake. Different sections. Big dogs, small dogs and training area. Gated. Benches & tables. Water fountain for dogs. Cons. People do not obey weight limits ten thy get upset when the their tiny annoying dog gets stampeded on by the bigger dogs. Some people are boujee and get mad when your dog licks them or plays with their dog. There were to many dirt patches which turns into mud when it rains. Wet dogs from the lake. That water is nasty when it's low tide. The gate is hard to open. There needs to be more poop stations & water stations. The water station had hot water coming from it. read more

The actual park is great, as others have said, but some people do not clean up after their own dogs. I have not seen more fights than happen at any other park. There is a problem with children being unattended. My dog knocked over a toddler who was left unattended while his mother watched their two dogs. The signs are clearly posted, but no one follows the rules here. As for the facility, it is pretty nice, but the one in Fort Worth is nicer; it has a good drainage system and an obstacle course. read more

Our dog loves this park. He's usually a little anti-social, he's a hound mix and all he wants to do his sniff at everything, but he actually plays with all the other dogs at this park. It's huge and he loves to run from one end of the park to the other, playing with the other dogs and saying hi to all the dog people. I think the park is well maintained and, while some people do bring many dogs with them, everyone is usually getting along when I'm there. I've been about 7 times over the last 30 days. There's plenty of parking, benches and shade trees for summertime. One tidbit of advice is be sure to bring water for your pooch during the winter months as the fountains don't run during this time of year. read more

POOP, POOP, AND MORE POOP! Pretty Sunday for a drive from McKinney to Denton. Wanted to see this park. My earlier reviews never mentioned the dog poop everywhere. From the time we stepped out of the car on the lot to the sidewalk to the fenced area it was everywhere. If this is not a problem for you then this is your park As one Yelper has put in his comments..... "It's constantly covered in dog poop, but hey, it's a dog park. If you're mad about that, get over it. It's a park for dogs." Yes, it is a dog park BUT the owners are not a dog their dog is. It is called being responsible and respectful of your community buddy. Pick up your dog's poop! Saw several folks had their dog off of leashes as soon as they got out of the car. That can cause problem for those who keep their dog on a leash. But if you are not a responsible dog owner you wouldn't know or care anyway. Pretty park but I would not go back. NO restrooms for the dog owners or the non dog park go-ers. One resident who was there said that people bring in dogs under six months old and those without tags and shot tags. Her dogs got Kennel Cough from the visits there. They have signs posted but those are for the OTHER people not the ones breaking the rules. Sad to see this park so nasty. if the city of Denton would crack down on this and close the park when this gets out of control maybe they could get a handle on it. I take my 3yo husky here regularly during the fall/early spring months. No major complaints about the main fenced in grassy area, anything that happens in there that is unsavory is normally due to owner negligence or just a dog with a bad attitude. My biggest and most major complaint with this park is the "watering hole" type area directly adjacent to the big dog park. This glorified dirt hole filled with dirty water/rain runoff is full of very harmful bacteria. All it took was one swim in that dirty hole for my dog to get very very ill the following day. I acknowledge on my part as the owner that I should have assessed the risks with that sketchy looking pond but I saw many others and their dogs frolicking and splashing about in the pond so I let my dog do the same. 24 hrs later I'm sitting in the Denton Vet ER with a very sick dog. My regular vet (Dove Creek) told me upon her checkup that many other dogs had gotten sick from the same "pond". I believe the city should test this water and ultimately fill in this hole, it is not safe and is a breeding ground for very harmful bacteria. Sorry for the long review I just want to put out a fair warning to all to avoid that small watering hole. The larger pond that meets with the trails along the back of the park is not contaminated I am talking specifically about the smaller pond. I'm filing an official complaint with the city-which may be useless since this incident occurred back in late April of 2017 but if I could save fellow dog owners a trip to the emergency vet and a hefty vet bill by letting the city know I will do so! Hopefully action will be taken! Edit: I wrote this a while back for a google review and am reposting here on yelp. Ive discovered that a friend of mine-who frequents this dog park-suffered the same as I did. Her pup swam in the same pond and he became very ill. Another dog sent to the emergency vet due to this issue. After I filed my complaint, a representative for the city told me the best he could do would be to put a fence around the area. This pond is designed to keep run off water, it is meant to have certain levels of bacteria. The representative did say they would test the water to check the levels of bacteria and if the levels are troubling, action would be taken. Contact from that person has stopped, as in I haven't heard anything conclusive regarding the pond. So since I cannot definitively say the pond has dangerous levels of bacteria-here is my shout into the dark: AVOID THAT POND AT ALL COSTS. Do not let your dog drink it. Don't let them swim in it. Stay away. Keep your dog on a leash in that area just in case!! Please be careful!! read more

I come here daily, and love the sense of community you get with the other regulars. The trails behind the park are also a beautiful place to walk and exercise your dog, in addition to the large enclosed areas provided. Be sure to bring your own water from November to March as they shut off the fountain due to cold weather every year. When i first got my pup, we would often frequent Wiggley Park. The small section is a great way to socialize your puppy without over stimulating them with the large older dogs. However now that she is older and we have been to the park about once to twice a week for the past year, I find myself going less and less to Wiggley. The dog park itself is a great facility, but the lack of responsibility that the other dog owners have is aggravating to say the least. The owners don't clean up their dogs mess, they constantly find it necessary to leave their dogs on leashes as they walk INSIDE the enclosure which is asking for a dog fight. Kids under the age of 5 should not be allowed to go into the large dog area alone and unsupervised. Aggressive and sick dogs should be kept out of the dog park area period! And my biggest pet peeve about Wiggley is that owners often leave bark collars ON their dogs as they play both in the pond and with other dogs. I usually say something to the owners which has its wide range of both aggressive responses (which is not to be expected) and clue less owners appreciative remarks. The only reason I will not be going to this park as much as I used is simply due to the fact that I do not want to run the risk of my dog getting sick, and I am tired of having to dance around the many piles of poop. **Side note, the trails behind the park can take you on a 2 hour hike if you know your way around, just watch out for copper heads and water moccasins I have seen a lot of them on our hikes. read more

I came here about 3 times now and honestly I really like this place. There are three different parks for different size dogs and then theres a walking path along the back that's also nice. The park is spacious and my two dobies love to make new friends:). There are benches and tables inside the park if you want to sit and relax as well. I've only been inside the large dog park and there are water fountains for the dogs when they get thirsty. The park provides buckets for dogs to share their water but if you're a sanitary person who doesn't want your dog to share germs with other dogs I recommend bringing your own bowl or something! I went during day hours on a weekday with my small dog. While waiting for another couple with their 2 dogs to leash their dogs in the leash/unleash pen one of the ignorant owners let their large dog right out the gate, not even caring to leash it with the leash in her hand. It jumped my small dog in supposed play, wherein my small dog panicked and had quite the frightening experience. The owner just laughed and said "My dog is really playful!" I don't care what your dog is -- LEASH IT LIKE THE RULES SAY. After that, my dog was shaking and too scared to go in the small dog area (where there were zero dogs). I took him for a walk around the gravel path, but another ignorant owner had their Husky off leash on the trail. Luckily, he gained a brain cell and put the leash on his dog in time before it came to my dog. On my way to my car another car pulled up and let their Lab jump right out of their car without a leash. I made it to my car in time with my little dog, just as their Lab was reaching my car door. THREE DOGS OFF LEASH, ALL WHICH RAN FOR MY DOG AND MYSELF, IN A MATTER OF HALF AN HOUR ON A WEEKDAY. Imagine what it's like during high peak times. Oh yeah, dog poop everywhere, even when there's bags provided. Don't put your dog at risk.
