The meeting room itself was great! Super clean. Parking is plentiful. Signage to find your spot is on point. No complaints! My kiddos frequent this library often with their grandparents, as well as in the summer with SPARKS Camp and it is a top notch resource for the Coralville community! The programing is great, the building itself is well maintained, its selection is fabulous. Overall, the Coralville Public Library is a staple. Whether you need to check out a book or plan a meeting-- check out CPL.

As a kiddo-- story time, summer reading programs, movie nights, computer games to play and a plethora of toys scattered throughout the secluded children's section! Not to mention books, movies, video games, puzzles and more to bring home. As a college kid-- a quiet, air conditioned spot that has newer movies as well as video games to checkout for free. (Take that Redbox. And you, Netflix for not having the movie or season I reallllly wanted to watch!) They also loan equipment like bluray players, laptops and hotspots. Plus, study rooms on the second level are available. As an adult-- THEY LOAN ART, ya'all! A Digital Media Lab also lives here with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite Software. And their digital library is impressive with Kanopy, Local Music Project, RBdigital and more! Parking CAN be an issue-- I'd recommend the Dubuque Street Ramp, which is a block away. First hour free. The staff at the ICPL is wonderful. So helpful and knowledgable, with a smile worn MOST of the time. Also, don't forget a reusable bag for all your checked out goodies!

Initial plans were to hold the ceremony up on the roof, but outdoor temperature and humidity, coupled with daily forecasts of thunderstorms, necessitated the change in plans. No worries, as they were all still able to get photos of the wedding party up on the roof and at other library locations. Since we were all here for rehearsal and wedding the two days I visited the library, I was not able to explore much, except for the Greyhound Deli & Cafe on the first floor, which was right underneath the conference room where the reception took place and the nearby Whipple auditorium, which were on the second floor. The space outside the conference room had tables, chairs, and couches and was designed so that you may look into the cafe's "courtyard" below. Oh, and I really enjoyed checking out the "green" roof and the porcelain patio furniture! Nice views of Pepsi's delivery areas... Hehe! All three levels are easily accessed by stairs and elevators. Would like to explore more on a return visit sometime in the future.

The parking situation is a bit cramped as the lot only houses ~ 30ish cars, but if you find a spot, you're gold. Upon walking in, I was impressed with how modern and open the place is. There are tons of windows letting plenty of light in and lot of fun lighting throughout. Whilst walking up the stairs, I noted the random illumination of the wall next to me- it's the little things! I didn't explore tons of different areas, but did find the computers upstairs as I'd left mine at home. The computer section had around 50 machines and with a photo ID, I was able to log on for a couple hours. Tons of study space as well, including a bunch of private study rooms upstairs. The children's area was quite extensive and something our little dudes would enjoy. The furniture in the kids area had a healthy dose of modern art mixed in and made me want to sit/play on it. Café downstairs had plenty to drink/eat and made for some good caffeinating. Cool factor - They have a video game check out section for multiple different systems. Take home message - Great place to work, study, read or learn. If we lived up here, we'd be here A LOT!

They were very helpful at finding some books the older boy wanted (inter library loan), and connecting the younger boy with books that fit his interests. The summer reading program has activities for kids - younger and tween/teen. They got a calendar positing them. The new (well a couple of years now) space is lovely as well. Lots of displays with enticing covers or titles in both adult and kid's sections. We all left with books to keep us busy.

Parking is excellent OUT BACK (paid, short term on the street out front), safe area....good hours considering it is run by volunteers. A treasure trove of fabulous stuff! Note: the hours posted on the DOOR is for the Masonic Library folks in the building.....NOT the genealogy library. They have separate hours which is why I smudged them out so you would not get confused.

Just go to their website, use their Catalog, and look up to see if they have the book/movie you want - and where it is and whether it's checked out. Makes it really easy to plan ahead and grab and go when I get there. Books are all on an electric system. Scan your library card, put the books on the scanner, and it'll check them out to you. Really simple and much faster than waiting in line. Books are usually in great condition. Definitely readable and very rarely torn up. DVDs have been hit or miss. We've always reported bad ones to librarians, though, so I hope they take that seriously and replace or remove unworking ones from circulation. There's also an interior Used bookstore in the library (the only one in town, I think?), but I've never been in there. The staff are super fun and welcoming, and while patrons aren't always super-quiet, most are respectful, and I've never seen any librarian need to quiet someone down. The children's area is pretty close to the front of the library, though, so if you require complete silence, I'd recommend one of the upper floor areas away from the kid's section. Parking is a private lot right outside the building. There are usually spots here as most Main Street customers seem to respect the library as patron-only. It's possible to drive up and drop someone off right by the door if you'd like. There's also an afterhours/outdoor item drop as well. Plus, there's the fact that the Library is right next to downtown. Return a book you checked out and then go walk a couple blocks to enjoy lunch at a small business. Win-win! The library also has a family/gender-neutral bathroom as well.

You did not even place a notice on the entrance door that you were closed due to an all included staff meeting and you still could have achieved this meeting by leaving the doors open and placing a sign by the check out desk stating that nobody would be able to assist due to the very important staff meeting or by sending out an E-Mail to all your users. The Eastern Avenue branch of Davenport's library is impressive for a number of reasons…read more The building is super green (environmentally, not color-wise). It earned a Silver LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification for the innovative ways it uses less energy and water as well as energy efficient lighting and building materials. It's spacious and open. even in the stacks you never feel cramped or oppressed by the tall shelves of books. The coffee shop/bookstore off the lobby is great for a quick snack (but we'll talk about that in its own review). The adult sections are great, but their children's section is awesome. Board books are organized by author, but shelved in low-slung shelving units so little eyes can see them and little hands can select them with ease. Tables are height appropriate for little ones and the large stuffed animals are a hit too. Finally, the children's programing is great as well. Weekly (and sometimes twice-weekly) story times for three different age groups (babies, toddlers, and preschool) as well as many programs for school-aged kids make the library a fun and interesting place for kids to visit and a partner with parents who want to instill a love of books and reading in their children.
