Having the support of North Light Newborns during this postpartum period has been such a tremendous gift. This is my 4th baby, and my first time having the postpartum support of a doula. I found it so deeply restorative to have an experienced doula come to my home with the expressed purpose of caring for me during this time. Even as an experienced mother, it was so beneficial to me to have regular access to a knowledgable sounding board to discuss my healing process & my new baby's development. She was a wealth of knowledge regarding local resources my baby and i could benefit from during this period. It made me feel consistently supported in a way that far exceeded the support my amazing friends and family could readily provide in this busy life! As a new mom, you are so solely focussed on taking care of this new life, that it is easy to loose focus on the bigger picture. I found my weekly visits to be a great way to reset and evaluate if there was anything i needed for myself and our changing family as we progressed through the 4th trimester. I so wish i could go back and seek their support for my previous postpartum periods. I deeply believe that having in-home postpartum support should not be considered a luxury, but it should be the basic standard of care for new mothers. read more

I had the BEST experience with Katie and Sara from NLN. I reached out to Katie when I was pregnant with my first baby, because I knew that the nights would be really tough for my family. Katie walked me through the whole process, and made me feel like I would actually be able to get through it. She and Sara came four nights a week for two months to help my son learn how to sleep through the night. They were both so kind, gentle and professional. I felt so at ease having them help me care for my son. On nights they were here, I was actually able to get much needed rest, knowing that my son was in the best hands. Katie and Mollie were extremely well prepared to help us address a rough sleep regression our 22 month old was experiencing right before we are planning to have our second child. They provided extensive guidance based on quantitate research and a few simple changes and improvements to our approach with our son made a huge difference. To say Sara and Katie are lifesavers is the understatement of the century. Their advice, consistency and care were invaluable. They eased all our first time parents worries and were always just a text, a call away.
