First…read moreyou will only speak to the actual Dr. on your 1st visit, every time following that you will only speak with their "assistant". The assistants are good, but seem to be over worked because they NEVER follow up on anything they discuss with you. You will have to continuously call back to request for follow up on the things you discussed with them. I went in for an insulin pump on my 1st visit and gave up after a year of seeing no progress. I went to my PCP instead and had a pump within a month. You will also have to wait at least 6 months to get an appointment to speak with these "assistants". Here's the straw that finally broke the camel's back for me. I had a heart attack and while in the hospital one of the Doctors from this fraudulent office stopped into my room each day. They looked at my blood pressure and said, "Your blood pressure looks good, I'll stop back later to discuss your diabetes with you." They never stopped back later to discuss my diabetes but came back the very next day with the exact same story..."your blood pressure looks good, I'll stop back later." When I reviewed my hospital billing, those visits where they stopped in to tell me my blood pressure looked good were billed as "Endocrine Specialist Diabetes Counselling". This is obviously insurance fraud and likely the reason you can never see the actual Doctor at your office visits. The Doctors are too busy scanning the patient logs at the hospitals to see who has diabetes so they can make these 5 minute blood pressure comment visits and charge them as diabetes specialist counselling visitations while they have hired assistants acting as Doctors at their office. Don't just walk, but RUN away from this fraud of a Doctor!

They gave me a steroid shot, put me on some meds and sent me on my way. When things became worse, I went to visit a second Dermatologist, who then recommended I see an Allergist. Blood tests were always normal, no allergies ever came up and it got to a point where the doctors would just tell me, "I don't know what it is. Take these meds and hopefully it'll go away on its own." After seeing 5 doctors multiple times over the course of 7 to 8 months, my mom recommended I fly back home to Michigan (I live in Texas) to see her Primary Care Provider. After hesitation and thinking to myself, "Why would I spend money to fly all the way home to see someone who will probably run the same tests?," I made the appointment and booked my flight. ONE VISIT, ONE APPOINTMENT, and I received an emailed report and phone call of the exact issue, the causes and the treatment. Nurse Practitioner Tamika Morrow was very thorough, professional and was sure to follow-up throughout my 3 month treatment plan that was given to me. Upon completing the treatment, my hives were completely gone. I hate that it took 8 months of wasted money dealing with incompetent doctors who only did surface level requirements but I'm grateful that Synergy Health & Wellness was able to get me back to good health. Great service. Great staff. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone and will be flying back to Michigan annually for my regular health checkins. I wouldn't trust anyone else.

Their diagnosis is based off of the doctors recent orders for tests. Not your medical history or ongoing symptoms of arthritis that can easily be treated with medications they CAN prescribe. This place is a money horse looking for patients they can profit from that would be eligible for their clinic infusion therapy for autoimmune diseases. Rheumatology is also the study of arthritic conditions. This practice is not backed by any hospital affiliations. Therfore, they are a private practice with a make-shift staff operating it.

I was told results were ready over the phone when they were not and then belittled in the background by a staff member being told "I just needed to deal with it" which they were unaware that I could hear. I know they might not have meant much by it but it can be very demotivating and disappointing to hear those things as a patient who is just looking for answers and has been in lots of pain for a long period of time. The time that appointments are at is very general at this office. Both times I had to wait 45 minutes past my appointment start time to even get in a room after being told to be there 30 minutes early. If you are someone who is busy this can really mess with your schedule as most people have strict work hours. Overall, I was just very disappointed and wished my experience had been better. I am not a person to complain as you can probably tell by my very little amount of reviews I give. The app doesn't work. They "don't process refill requests from pharmacies". I assumed that my doctor just refilled all my meds then but she didn't. I needed one today so I called to get that handled because Troy Internal Medicine wasn't responding to the pharmacy. After a 20 minute wait a receptionist finally answered and was completely disinterested in anything I had to say. She was rude and dismissive, for no reason. She also didn't pay attention to what I was saying and got the name of the medication wrong. ( I found this out hours later ) A couple of hours go by and I call the pharmacy, Troy Internal Medicine called in every medication OTHER THAN THE ONE I NEED. I called the doctor's office back ( another long wait ), got a different receptionist and she informed me that the medication I needed came up on something called MAPS as being filled in March. I told her that it was last filled in January, read it from my bottle and she all but accused me of drug seeking. I was totally confused because the medication I needed isn't even a controlled substance in any sort of MAPS sense and I've been taking it for decades. she assured me that she would discuss it with my doctor. I call the pharmacy, they confirm that I didn't have it filled in March and ask the doctors office to call them, I call the doctors office and after another 20 minute wait I ask them to call the pharmacy. I wait another hour and call the pharmacy, of course they never received a call from Troy IM. This time the pharmacist answered and he said "they are confusing the medications, they think you are asking for drug A, which was refilled in March, ( and I've taken 2 of ) not drug B which was last refilled in January and isn't a MAPS drug so they flagged you as drug seeking for the wrong medication. FLAGGED ME AS DRUG SEEEKING???? what??? All because ONE receptionist didn't want to bother listening to what I was saying. She shouldn't be working with people and she definitely shouldn't be working with patients at a doctor's office. Bottom line: avoid this doctor's office. the ratings are in the toilet for a reason.

Originally, my prescription was for 1 1/2 pills, which meant I had to split a pill each day. At my last routine physical, I mentioned to Dr. Kastl that I had been taking 2 pills instead because it wasn't always convenient to cut them, and the difference in dosage was minimal. She agreed and officially changed my prescription to 2 pills. Six months later, when I requested a refill, I was told I had to schedule a medication check before it would be approved. I scheduled and attended the appointment, which lasted about five minutes and involved no meaningful discussion or changes to my treatment. The following week, I received a $150 bill for that brief visit. I contacted Dr. Kastl multiple times to express my concern and pointed out that, based on my understanding of Michigan law and federal guidelines, the medication I take does not require a mandatory six-month follow-up. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or showing any empathy, my messages were dismissed by simply stating "it's our policy". In this situation, patient care took a back seat to billing. After being a loyal patient for years, I was extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I will not be returning to this practice and would encourage others to carefully consider their options when choosing a primary care provider.
