I had my procedure to get started for my crown 3 weeks ago with sedation. I could not have asked for a better experience. Everyone was so kind and caring! Today I went back for my permanent crown and I actually was excited for the appointment. I have never felt like that about the dentist. My crown was placed and adjusted until it felt perfect. Then we did all my prep for my Invisalign's which Dr Shimoun had gone over in great deal explaining how it would help with my long term dental care. I absolutely love the crew at North Oaks Dental! From the moment I first walked in they treated me like a person and not just another number. My first time there was just to shop around; find a local dentist that took my insurance, ask a few questions, and move on to the next. But my plan was changed the second I opened the door and was met by Tiffany's warm and welcoming smile at the counter. Her friendly vibe was so disarming that my 'business-only' attitude melted away, and before I knew it, I was officially a patient. My wife found it funny. My first consultation with the amazing Dr. Joseph Shimoun was... memorable. I boldly (and perhaps a bit stupidly) asked him to just pull all my teeth and set me up with some dentures. Instead of laughing at my ignorance, he listened to me with genuine concern as he wanted to understand where I was comming from with such a request. With the calm demeanor, he gently explained that I might not fully grasp what I was asking for and then showed me that he could give me back my own smile. He promised he could create a treatment plan with options, and he delivered. After some scans, some surprisingly fun chats, and some great tunes, we sat down again. He laid out a complete roadmap to fix my teeth, explaining every detail. Better yet, he assured me he'd personally work with my insurance to get it all covered. I didn't know how to refuse and went with his plan happily. What followed were many, many appointments - some stretching over three hours! Through it all, Dr. Shimoun's focus and patience never wavered. The man is a dental artist. My mouth, once a broken-down mess that made me forget how to smile naturally, is now filled with a full set of beautifully repaired teeth. No more cracks, no more holes! Dr. Shimoun's incredible dedication, Lexi's expert and gentle care, and Tiffany's ever-present kindness have left the greatest impression on me. Though I didn't meet a single staff member I didn't like, those three are the ones that really stuck with me. Thanks to them, I'm no longer afraid to smile while driving my school bus. The amazing care didn't stop with me. My wife is now a patient, and when I brought my kids in, the team showed their true colors. Instead of just trying to make a dime, they recommended a fantastic pediatric dental specialist that was perfect for my children, in our network, and close to home. I have severe anxiety when it comes to the dentist due to childhood trauma from my childhood dentist. I hadn't seen a dentist in over 12 years because my anxiety was so crippling. I even have a hard time taking my four children to their appointments, usually their father or my mom takes them for me. After breaking two teeth while eating pumpkin seeds last Friday, I knew I had to face my fears and go in. I made an appointment with Dr. Shimoun that same day and was able to get in the following Tuesday. Every single person in his office was amazing!! So kind, patient, and understanding. I didn't feel judged at all, which was honestly my biggest fear going in. Dr. Shimoun is truly incredible. He has such a kind, gentle demeanor and took the time to sit with me, explain everything that was going on, and make sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. He was also willing to work with me financially since I don't have dental insurance and can't afford all the out-of-pocket costs right now. They made a appointment without our permission and then tried to say they would waive the 50.00 no show fee They are unethical and try to run up the bill because they are hard up for business. I have see Dr. Shitmoon in other medical offices begging for customers. I do not recommend going to this dentist. read more

The staff at North Oaks New Hudson are changing peoples lives! For over 10 years I've suffered from dental issues, desperately needing treatment but struggling to access it. Trauma from childhood triggered by dental care/PTSD symptoms during appointments made it impossible for me until recently when the pain became unbearable. Realizing that IV sedation would be my only hope, I called countless dentists looking for one that accepted my insurance and provided IV sedation in-office for general dentistry. Of the nearly 100 clinics that I called, North Oaks Dental was the only one that could help me. Nichole DeAngelis-Gilgallon, the office manager, answered my call and from that moment on I have been treated with such kindness and support from her and everyone at this practice. Nichole listened to my story with empathy, never made me feel shame or embarrassment (like so many other clinics had). She reassured me that I would get the care that I needed at North Oaks, and that I would be cared for in the process. When I arrived for my appointment the office was brand new and high tech but also calm and inviting. Nichole took time to talk with me before my appointment, introduced me to other staff, and informed Dr.Shimoun of my needs before he got started on my exam. Nichole sat with me during my entire appointment, checking in periodically to make sure that I was okay and felt comfortable. Dr.Shimoun was so friendly, patient and kind. He developed a thorough and efficient treatment plan, and went over it with me in detail. Nichole has helped me navigate the insurance process to ensure that I'm able to get the care that I need, as soon as possible. This was the first time in my life that I had received trauma-informed care at a dentist, and my life will forever be changed because of it. I'm no longer afraid to go to the dentist, and I'm finally getting the care that I need because of Nichole and Dr.Shimoun.
