I had a tooth ache a week ago and called my dentist who referred me to NPE. I called on a Saturday and reached the on call dentist Dr. Greg Newman. He was super pleasant on the phone addressing my concerns because I am 32 weeks pregnant. I called Monday and was seen by Wednesday with Dr. Newman. The woman Kim I spoke to on the phone was super pleasant, even told me its possible to love my second child :) I also spoke with Taylor, who was also super pleasant, so I was feeling good about coming in to a place I've never been before. Martha the assistant was, you guessed it, super pleasant as well. She helped alongside Dr. Newman for my root canal therapy which surprisingly I felt no pain at all. I hate needles and pain, and I would go back again and again for any endodontic needs. (whatever that means, ill just go back.) Dr. Newman explained everything he was doing and that I was in control of the procedure - if I needed any breaks from bathroom needs to pain to switching positions because of the pregnancy to just raise my hand and let him know. I think I could go on and on about this place, but it was a wonderful experience. Everyone I came in contact with was super nice and I appreciate it so much. read more

Originally went to have a tooth that had a root canal looked at because I was starting to feel sensitivity again. Dr. Dapkute performed a "free" imaging of my teeth. She told me 3 teeth needed to have root canal correction. I had all three done but she never fixed my initial problem. I still have sensitivity in the original tooth. it was like "oh well". They basically depleted my entire insurance and most of my FSA as well as out of pocket money. I feel like I was scammed. To top it off I received a bill 5 months later after being told i was paid up in full back in July. Don't trust them. They act like they're doing preventative work but just worried about making money. I'm out thousands and I'm still in pain. Oh well...lesson learned. read more

I can't believe that this practice would ever get any negative reviews! The offices are pristine and the personnel are friendly and competent. Today I had a root canal on a wisdom tooth, not easy. I have had many root canals over the years, and Dr. Greg Newman was the best practitioner by far. He explained everything before, during, and after. He repaired my tooth with precision, sensitivity, and a bit of humor, and went out of his way to be accommodating to me. Afterwards, he provided me with meds to reduce any possible inflammation ----and even called me that evening to check on me. The office required I pay a deposit to hold the appointment and to pay in full before I could even sit in the chair. When I got my statement of benefits from my insurance company I realized I was overcharged over $550. I have been trying to get this resolved with no success. No one answers the phone or returns messages.- My insurance company has also had no luck getting in touch with them. Today I am sure that the office hung on me twice when I called. If you are afraid of root canals, please read this review! Dr. Greg Newman is amazing. I have had a lot of issues with the pain from Novocain and bad experiences with needles. Dr. Greg had to give me multiple injections and I didn't even feel them. I experienced no pain from start to finish and didn't have the usual pain after the procedure. Dr. Greg talked through the whole process before beginning the procedure and also prescribed medicine to avoid pain after the Novocain wore off. I did not experience pain that night and woke up the next morning feeling great. I'm not over exaggerating when I say that I would prefer a root canal from Dr. Greg over a filling at the dentist! I hope this review can set others at ease that need a root canal. read more

I was suffering with pain from a tooth that needed a root canal. I called the endodontists in my area that were recommended to me and had to wait until next year for an appointment. I placed one call to North Penn and was given an appointment the same day. Had the root canal done pain free. From the polite and compassionate girl at the front desk to the assistant and dentist in the back, the service was unbelievable. The atmosphere was very serene and relaxing. I am not a big fan of the dentist, so I can say that this was a unique experience. I would recommend this practice to anyone who is in need of an endodontist. Excellent service and care. Dr. Greg was absolutely terrific. It was like being given a tutorial on root canal procedures. He explained every step of the process and even took the time to show me the actual infection he removed from my molar. He reviewed the X-rays showing me the affected gum areas. This tooth had a prior root canal approximately 12 years earlier. I was always under the impression that after a root canal there was no more feeling left in the tooth. Well, that's not the case since there's still blood circulation and sensitivity remaining. My visit was painless and I appreciated the informative approach. He did a follow-up phone call a few hours later. Also, I need to mention his assistant Marta, was sensational as well. Thank you both for such excellent treatment. read more

Having a root canal is never pleasant...BUT if you ever need one, this is the place to have one done. Got an appointment within an hour of calling. A big relief when experiencing oral pain. Dr Newman explained the problem, the process in which the problem would be solved, explained the procedures as he moved through the surgery, explained aftercare steps, AND called me to follow up on how I was doing after procedure. Back in 2012 I was recommended here for a root canal, and I was under the care of Dr. Greg Neumann. He is an amazing orthodontist, and I have nothing but praise for this practice. He is very efficient in his work, he always answers any questions and let's you know exactly what he is going to do, and I'm not a fan of any dental work but I didn't have any real problems coming here for my root canal. If I need any orthodontist work done in the future, I would come back here and I would recommend it to anyone else too as it is that great!! read more

I would have submitted 0 stars if possible. Even though they participate with my insurance, this office collected fees BEFORE I had my appointment, by credit card- on the phone( while making appointment ). I was told I would be reimbursed after insurance paid their share. After the appointment they said I owed an additional fee. I was given a receipt saying I paid in full. The receipt itemized my payment and said that I had paid for the X-ray they took. They submitted incorrect billing codes to Aetna for coverage of the exam and Aetna did not cover it. Aetna paid for the X-ray as the office did submit the proper code for that. I spent hours of my life dealing with Aetna and the North Penn Endodontics office manager, Laura. Aetna requested a resubmission of the bill with the proper code. The office resubmitted the improper code for the second time. Within this time the office billed me an additional $30.00 more ..over and above what appeared on my receipt that said I had a $0 balance . I called them, Aetna and wrote seven emails to Laura the office manager...to no avail. i visited another endodontist and then an oral surgeon for the same tooth problem- that were Aetna participating who entered the proper codes. The visits were covered 100%. North Penn Endo. charged me $120.00 for the same appointment and were paid twice...once by me and once by Aetna for the X-ray. I think that is illegal??I paid all of the charges because I kept getting letters from their collection agency ( a total of 3 between December and February. Both Aetna and the office made no attempt to solve this billing travesty. I paid to protect my credit... read more

I saw Sean Nguyen DMD at this practice today. Very very good. He did a new root canal, and fixed an old one. It was as pleasurable an experience as getting two root canals can be. He is definitely better than the average dentist. If you need a root canal, go here then let your dentist finish it. This place doesn't do crowns and all that stuff. read more

My wife went for a consultation with Dr.Andrew Kim, he was knowledgeable and professional...my issue is after the consultation we were told that as of that day they no longer accepted our insurance! When they called the week prior for me to prepay for the copay no one mentioned that as of the day of our visit they wouldn't accept our insurance anymore. We were quoted a price of almost 6k and told that we would have to pay out of pocket.They also did more xrays then were supposed to have been done and charged extra for that! I asked why I wasn't told the week prior that this was happening and that I would have gone to an endodonist that does welcome my insurance.I was simply told that they just started this policy this week. Totally unprofessional, now we have to go through this whole procedure all over again. read more

Just a great experience. I was in tremendous pain and my regular dentist wasn't able to help. He recommended root canal and referred me to Dr. Greg Newman at North Penn Endodontics. I called there and not only did they make room for me that afternoon, they called back and told me I could come even sooner. When I met Dr. Greg, he took his time and asked questions and tried to figure things out. He diagnosed an infection and perscribed antibiotics. Home run. Pain gone in a day, no drilling, and no major expense ( I don't have insurance). He personally checked in with me later to see how I was doing. Great place. read more

I had my first root canal several years ago with another practice and it was torture. I recently broke my tooth and my dentist said I would need a root canal. Needless to say, I wasn't going back to the same practice. After a little research, I found North Penn Endodonics. Emily reviewed my insurance and was super pleasant and helpful. I had a very similar experience as another reviewer did in regards to an insurance issue. First, I will begin by saying that Dr. Newman was very nice and did a great job on my root canal. However, when my dentist referred me to him, I asked if he was Delta Dental in network provider. My dental office told me he was and that they had been referring Delta patients to North Penn for years. When I got there I gave them my Delta numbers and card. They told me I had to pay up front using my credit card, and that they would send the claim to Delta who would then, in turn, reimburse me. They never told me that as of a few months ago they were no longer participating in Delta. I was shocked once I saw the bill I had to pay. It was over $1,100.00 more than I would have paid with an in-network dentist. What's worse is that when I called them and wrote them a letter about this, they really didn't seem to care. read more

I became a patient at North Penn Periodontal Associates (Lansdale, PA) about 5 years ago, when my old implant, which had replaced a broken front tooth failed. Before I went to NPPA I consulted 2 implant specialists who told me that the implant could not be replaced: the bone had deteriorated and there was nothing to anchor a new implant. My only option, I was told, was a dental bridge, either removable or permanently attached. Neither would give me the natural appearance or stability I wanted. Then I met with NPPA. I was carefully evaluated and was given another option that was a better choice for me. This option would be a long process that was not guaranteed (because of the bone deterioration), but I trusted their skill and their willingness to work with me. They were up for the challenge, and so was I! First they had to rebuild the bone, which they did through a process that stimulated bone growth. I received attentive care throughout the step-by-step process, and I was pleased with the care as well as the result. Each time I go for my free annual check-up, I am again grateful for the kind and thorough attention I receive from Dr. Gross and the staff. The office is well-run, and the dental expertise is of the highest quality. I feel fortunate to have received care from them, and I highly recommend them for periodontal services. read more

I am a local dentist that refers a lot of root canals here. There are several endodontists in the area, but in my opinion these are the best of the best. This was my first root canal and Dr. Ingrid was fantastic as well as her assistant. I was in at 8:15 and out before 10:00. There was no pain during the procedure and she kept me informed of what we were doing. I was back at work and back at the gym by the afternoon with no pain at all. This was no worse than any filling I've had before. I was lucky to have caught the root issue before is became infected or abscessed so that may have made a big difference. I came to NPE Fort Washington for a consultation and a root canal procedure. I would like to point out that when I visited, Dr. Salin was incredibly professional and the employees at the front desk were very kind. Dealing with their A/R billing department has been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. They never submitted proper documentation to my insurance company and REFUSE to take me out of collections. I have called my insurance company and they still haven't submitted the work and when I called and asked Sue and Joan at their office what the hold up was, the answer I received was that I wasn't the only patient in their facility. So, while they have time to send you to collections they do not have time to follow up on your insurance claims. They did tell me that they would do everything they could to get the claim paid by my insurance company IF I paid out of pocket. Now, why should I pay you out of pocket for you to do your job, which I believe is to is to collect money from my insurance. Be warned that their billing department is NOT educated on follow up and you will most likely have to do it yourself...or else they'll send you to collections. I have had no issues with my root canal procedure and the work was quick and painless. I honestly wish I could go back, but the disrespect has definitely burned this bridge. read more

I saw Dr Greg Newman for a standard root canal. He was very thorough and explained the procedure in layman's terms. He explained everything he was doing and checked in several times through out the process to ensure I was still comfortable. I am like many and not a fan of the dentist but he made this process quick and pain free. A little sore the day after but that is to be expected. I would highly recommend Dr. Newman. My tooth kind of hurt on Sunday, and on Monday the pain kept increasing and increasing. I left work and went to my dentist who referred me to an endodontist for a root canal on a capped tooth. I want to North Penn Endodontics that same day and they totally took care of me. Gave me directions over the phone, saw me that day even though it was late, and told me they'd take care of the billing after the office opened up in the morning. It was pain free, accommodating, helpful, and all the staff there put in the extra effort to get my pain resolved and over as soon as possible. Dr. Ingrida Dapkute, D.M.D. and her assistant Jenn were so compassionate when my root canal didn't work and we proceeded to oral surgery. Dr. Ingrida even called me on a Saturday night after my Thursday surgery to check on me. They also made provisions for a staggered payment policy and gave me free follow up exams. Horrible experience!!! Took my 15 year old daughter in for an emergency root canal. She is terrified of the dentist so we made sure to let the office know ahead of time. Dr. Kim was rude and very impatient with my daughter. She told him she was scared of needles and asked if they had a topical that they could put on first. Instead of alleviating her fears his response was, I don't use topical. They don't work and I'm so good that you don't need it. His rudeness and arrogant response terrified my daughter even more. She looked at me and said she was scared and wanted to leave. Dr. Kim proceeds to throw his instruments onto the tray and says to my daughter, ok goodbye and walked out. My daughter needed help not to be treated like garbage and dismissed. She was there because she hadn't slept in 2 days due to severe tooth pain. As we walked out of the exam room I mentioned to the hygienist that my daughter was scared and felt that Dr. Kim was being rude and not understanding of her fears. The hygienist stated she didn't feel that he was being rude and I said that I agreed with my daughter that he was not understanding and helpful when suddenly Dr. Kim came storming down the hall to the waiting room where we were and proceeded to scream at me to leave and to get out off his office!! Never in my life have I ever been treated so rudely by a "Doctor ". I was of the understanding that when you are in pain and need help a doctor should want to help not throw you and your 15 year old out of his office knowing full well she was in severe pain and we had been sent there from another office who could not help her!! I am appalled that he threw us out, we were not rude she was scared. He abandoned my daughter when she needed help and was in so much pain. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to that office. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Greg Newman today at North Penn Endodontics. That's a crazy comment being that I needed a "Root Canal" or as he calls it, "Root Therapy". As many others noted, he is truly a wonderful person and a great doctor who is obsessed with perfection. I mean that whole heartedly. There's no doubt that he's extremely busy yet took the time to explain my options, and in Layman's terms so I understood and then gives his recommendation. The root canal/therapy was painless and completed with no issues. Once he finished up he takes additional time to explain the procedure and does so by showing you the before and after X-rays. So to sum it up, no one wants to visit the dentist and more so for the purpose of a root canal but Dr. Newman and his assistant Jackie are talented people in their fields. I'm not one to recommend doctors, but don't hesitate in making the call to this office when the time comes. Ask for Dr. Greg Newman and thank me later. read more

I went there once had a good experience with the doctor and dental hygienist. I was due to go for a follow up appointment the next week due to another issue with an infected tooth. The issues I have are with the staff the women who answer the phone and schedule the appointments are extremely unprofessional have major attitudes and hardly try to reason with or accommodate their patients. They rescheduled my original appointment 4 times different dates and times then there was a discrepancy about the time change and they had the nerve to say nope you are wrong didn't even attempt to make it right or apologize or reschedule. They had the nerve to say we are charging you a $75 dollar fee even though I said I was on my way & less than 10 minutes late from the time I had written down on my calendar. I've worked in the medical field for over 10 years owning my own practice and I can tell you it is absolutely not how you conduct business. Needless to say I will not be returning or paying that fee! You are not the only Endodontics office in town lol in fact philly has much better offices and customer service! They need to realize if it weren't for patients like you and I they definitely wouldn't have a job! Especially during this Coronavirus.. anything under 15 mins late is forgivable. I'm sorry they are totally in the wrong if a patient is 5-10 minutes late it is forgivable it shows they tried to be on time! You don't say a charge of $75 when there was a huge misunderstanding from that offices end! They are the ones who kept on changing the date and time I made myself available to accommodate them! Um Hire new staff is my advice... I would not hire people like that to work for me! They played phone tag hung up on me, we're so rude had attitude before it even got to this point totally 110% unprofessional so sorry I Even gave them business at all. Despite the procedure going a little bumpy in the recovery stages, the doctors were more than willing to take my phone calls during the day to make sure that I was taken care of to the best of their ability. I was very impressed with the entire staff, from the receptionists to the dental assistants to the doctors. They were all very kind and professional. Since it was my first root canal I was extremely nervous and very tense throughout the procedure. But Dr. Kim was confident and reassuring and put my pain and mind at ease. I had a root canal here yesterday. Dr. Newman has by far the best bedside manner of any dental professional I have ever dealt with! This man asked me no less than 25 times during the procedure "are you okay?" He told me everything he was doing before it was happening. No surprises! I have had my fair share of dental work done more than most I would say. 4 years ago I had a root canal done at North Penn Endodontics. I don't recall the Doctors name but during the procedure the drill had ceased up and I felt a snap and heard a loud crunch followed but the panicked look on the Doctors face. He then tried to play it off and continue the procedure. I left the office in a lot of discomfort and ended up returning and going into the Fort washing to office to see Dr Slain . She was great very nice. She told me she did not do the work so she could not advise me on anything about the procedure that she did not do other than on an x ray or from her inspection everything seemed fine . But that does not mean something is not wrong because things can happen out of there control . I understand that completely. I did end up having a debate with the Dr in Lansdale that did the root canal . He would not own up to the mistake. At that point I told them I was not going to pay the balance and I think the least they could do would not be to charge me. They continued to bill me . I Contacted them one last time to ask them to consider the situation they told me again to pay the balance or they would send it to credit collectors. Not long after I had to have the tooth extracted and had to pay for that as well . Now 4 years later I was reviewing my credit report to find this as a reminder of the Bad experience that I had with North Penn Endodontics. At this point its about principal so I called to ask them to do the right thing and have this removed. My family still uses North Penn Endodontics so you would think they would like to matinee some kind of relationship and again do the right thing . Well the woman from billing referred to her notes and must have repeated the same thing to me 20 times . I understand they everyone has a job to do but in situations like this the Right Thing was not done . I kindly said closing our conversation that I will be posting my thoughts about this. I was told by the woman from the billing department not to threaten her. I told her it's not a threat it my right to do as I please . North Penn Endodontics is as good as it gets. Their office was very clean and inviting (which is good considering your visit is most likely due to a root canal). The front desk staff was kind and extremely helpful. Dr. Kim is a true pro! He is warm, thorough and attentive. Dr. Kim spent at least 20 minutes with me discussing my teeth, answering questions and giving expert advice. More often than not, I feel very rushed when I visit a specialist but I left NPE feeling like I got my monies worth and all of my questions were answered (now lets just pray I don't need two root canals... tbd). read more

I had nothing but bad experiences here. I went in for a root canal. He couldn't get a temporary cap off my tooth, so he did the root canal thru the cap, breaking my tooth. Since my tooth was broken, I continued to have pain. I complained and went back 3 times. Each time they told me everything was okay and my pain was completely normal. I'd had two other root canals with no pain whatsoever, so I knew something was wrong. One time they prescribed steroids. I had to take 16 steroids in 12 hours. I was up for two days, and my tooth continued to hurt. Finally after 13 months, the third Endodontist I saw admitted that my tooth was probably broken. He expressed great urgency in getting it pulled and taking a heavy-duty antibiotic to avoid an infection. I went to the oral surgeon they recommended. They kept me waiting 2.5 hours. The doctor spent a total of 5 minutes with me, never looked in my mouth, and told me to make an appointment to have the tooth pulled and get an implant. It was very much like an assembly line. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I literally spent thousands of dollars to have my root canal performed here. I don't recommend them. Oh, and they charged me for my follow up appointments. read more
