First things first, Kaht is an amazing photographer, and if you are planning a wedding, having a baby, or documenting your family, etc, you should definitely hire her! As a fellow photographer, I believe it will be difficult to express just how totally awesome Kaht is in this short review. She has an incredible background in photography, and is an extremely talented young photographer. She honed her photography skills while growing up watching her dad as a professional photographer, and I don't know many photographers her age that understand the elements of photography as well as she does. On to the photo session experience, I live in Chicago and when I heard Kaht was coming into town I was so excited to have her take my belly photos. It was perfect timing being about 4 weeks from my due date. I was large enough for it to count, but not so large that I didn't want to crawl in a hole and hide from everyone! :) Kaht did such a great job with the shoot. She was kind, professional and just fun to be with! I think that makes a huge difference when you're having photos taken. Being in front of the camera can be a little nervewracking, but Kaht makes it so easy and fun! You can tell Kaht loves nature and she found the most beautiful spots for my photos, even in the big city. I was amazed how easily she made our urban setting look so naturistic. :) I could tell the photos were going to be amazing, and when I got my sneak peek on-line shortly after the session they were more incredible than I could have ever hoped! Our family loves Kaht and North Photography! Kaht is an amazing photographer, she has such an artistic eye and captures the most wonderful moments. I have known her for many years, but my husband first met her at our engagement session. Those who know him know that he's very uncomfortable in front of a camera, but Kaht worked her magic and with her wonderful baseball themed idea (we love the Red Sox, and my husband played baseball through college) she got him to relax and we had such a wonderful time shooting our engagement photos. When it came to our wedding we were both so relaxed because we knew we were in good hands with Kaht. Kathleen photographed our wedding last summer, with Robert acting as second shooter and they did an amazing job! Not only is Kathleen a wonderful photographer, producing beautiful photographs, but she is also a joy to work with. We chose North Photography because we loved her saturated colors and style. We do not live in Vermont so conducted all of our preliminary business over the phone and through email, but she made that easy, too. We had never been married before, were having a large wedding and didn't have a wedding coordinator and Kathleen helped us plan some of the timing of the event and kept things moving the day of. Kathleen got all of the shots that we wanted and was not intrusive. We did not do a first look so did all of our formal and family shots after the ceremony/before the reception and she made it a priority to get that part done quickly so that we could rejoin our guests, while still producing beautiful results. Kathleen also had our photographs to us within about two weeks. Such a fast turn around, and this was during the height of wedding season! I've had friends that have waited months for their wedding photos to be delivered by different photographers. Additionally, we could not be more pleased with the quality and artistry of our photos. My wife and I were looking for a photographer for our engagement pictures and visited many different sites of professional photographers in the area. We had in mind what we were looking for and North Photography showed just that. While visiting the website and reviewing existing pictures, Kahtleen seemed to be capturing the essence of the relationship between her subjects. During our session her attention to detail and experience is evident and she quickly has an understanding of what kind of pictures you would like to see. Pictures are not overly "posed" as is too often the case with photography but are yet taken in a natural and comfortable environment. Feel free to bring your own ideas and Kahtleen will be happy to accommodate and work with them. I do recommend listening to hers as well as many times during our session it were her ideas that made the picture come out so much better. Kaht photographed our wedding on May 8, 2010 which was a crazy weather day. We had it all: sun, rain, wind, and snow (!!!). The entire time, Kaht was extremely professional and opportunistic in terms of catching us in our most natural moments. She was very calming and compassionate as we suffered and panicked through the weather. Most of all, she made us feel even more beautiful on a very special day. She went above and beyond what one would expect from a photographer. She was a joy to work with and the pictures we have seen so far are fantastic. She has a great eye for composition and color and can really make you feel at ease. Kaht is amazing! She really knows how to make you feel comfortable and her pictures really capture the moment! For our engagement session we were stumped as to what to do that would be fun, creative and not a typical session. Kaht came up with the great idea to have our session at a bed and breakfast. We had a blast taking some pictures, eating a delicious breakfast and even jumped on the bed! We felt extremely comfortable being ourselves and Kaht knew exactly what she was doing! A few weeks later when we were able to look through all of our proofs, we were amazed! She captured everything that we wanted to show in our pictures and even made us a FABULOUS guest book with some of our pictures. We were so impressed with the guest book and we know everyone at our wedding will be as well! I met Kathleen at our local farmer's market. I stopped on a whim on the way home, and I'm so glad I did! Kaht photographed our New Year's Day wedding and humored me in all aspects -- getting married in the snow, wearing my ski boots, herding "cats" to make sure we got all of our family shots! I felt as if I had a trusted friend taking pictures rather than a hired photographer. Kaht gets to know the couples she photographs and makes sure they are getting exactly what they want.
