I've gone to this dentist for idk how many years with no issues and I've always refused deep gum cleanings. Today they told me they won't clean my teeth because I won't get my gums cleaned (my teeth are in great shape, just want them cleaned!) Mind you, it cost well over $1,000 for the deep cleaning even after insurance and is a painful process. I'm a single mother of two and I prefer any money I save to go to my kids and that should 100% be my decision to make! No other dentist I've been to has been this way. They say it's because they don't want to let the gums get worse but the dentist is trying to force such an expensive procedure on people to make money by trying to force this on people! If they would've told me they changed their rules ahead of time I could've scheduled elsewhere but no, they waited until I took time off work and got their and ready to go!! read more

i was told conflicting stories when I inquired about dental service. I asked, "can you perform bite adjustments?" the answer I was given was "YES". I set my appointment, they did the new client protocol, Pictures, x-rays. Then they wanted to sell me $6000.00 worth of dental work. I still have not gotten my bite adjustment, because they want to SELL. The next time I just want to give money away I know who to call. read more

First of all, I do feel that the staff does an amazing job and are very nice. BUT..... I have no idea what has happened on the business end at NPD, but they have turned into con artists. They give quotes, which we pay at the time of service, and then bill a much larger amount to insurance. They then turn around and bill us a month later, sometimes double what the original quote was. This has happened 4 times. We asked for pre-authorization which did not happen even though we thought it did. My husband spoke to the office manager today and was basically told if we don't like the billing process then find a new dentist. Sadly, after many years, that is what we will do. read more

My daughter had a cleaning appointment today at 7:30am. She got there and they said they called me three times to confirm the appointment. I saw they called (no message). I thought they were confirming the appointment so I never thought anything about it. I guess its their policy to give your appointment away if they don't here from you whatsoever. Who does business like this?? We keep our appointments. Also, they will find treatments to do to your teeth even if nothing is wrong. Supposedly my husband had gum disease at some point which is totally false. Please save yourself time and lots of money. Do not use this establishment. read more

Good dentist and team. Very professional. I recently needed required an appointment with an oral surgeon. Another issue caused me to need that immediately. When I couldn't find an appointment less than 6 weeks out, one of Dr. Coleman's people made several calls and got me an expedited appointment within a few days. I'd give this review zero stars if that was an option. We made appointments in March as new patients. Three months later, as our appointments are approaching, they call to tell us we can't be patients because they aren't accepting new patients...excuse me?! We made our appointments 3 months ago and haven't gone anywhere because we had these locked in. TERRIBLE customer service and treatment. The woman on the phone acted as if it wasn't a big deal and said she was sorry "I FELT they shouldn't treat people this way." No, it's a fact, not an opinion. I would never use or recommend this dental group. They went completely overboard on recommendations of treatments. I felt as if they were trying to get as much money off me as possible. The work the dentist does is ok but watch out for your checkbook! They will perform treatment without getting actual insurance portion but will estimate. Then the surprise comes when they have quoted you your portion and when the insurance won't actually be paying what they showed you before treatment but they will expect you to pay the remainder that they mislead you with before treatment. They do not support the customer as well as they easily could. What a shame when there are plenty of dentists to chose from. We're moving on. read more

After going from office to office for years, searching for one that could take care of the dental needs of myself and 5 children, I finally gave North Pointe a try. This will be where I take my family for years to come. For those with young children, they have a nice little area in the waiting room where your kids can grab a free water, play with some toys and entertain themselves while you read one of the many magazines on offer. The front desk staff are welcoming, helpful and very courteous. Best of all, they don't mind when my children get a little loud and eccentric! The hygienist staff is unparalleled in both skill and professionalism. When I arrive I am called back quickly and feel as if the hygienist is truly concerned with myself, and my children's dental care. The TVs in each room that play whatever you want is also a nice touch. Dr. Coleman Is one of those people who is not in a hurry, and Is happy to sit with you and answer any questions you may have. Despite wearing an ear piece where I'm sure she is being barraged with information and questions, when she is in the room with you, you feel like you are the only patient in the whole office. Love this place, love the staff. I appreciate what they do for my family so much I even sent an edible arrangement as a thank you. Keep up the good work North Pointe Dental family! read more

I would not recommend this dentist. I recently moved to Fort Wayne and needed to get a routine cleaning. First of all, they take a ridiculous amount of X-rays on your first visit. No human needs this much radiation. It is quite obvious they are doing this to make money not because it is a necessity. When I went to a different dentist 6 months later I had the X-rays transferred. The new dentist confirmed that all the X-rays were unnecessary. They were shocked so many had been taken. I was at the office for over 2 hours!! Secondly, North Pointe told me I needed a crown. I was very surprised to hear this since my previous dentist had never said a word and I wasn't having any trouble. I decided not to proceed with the crown. North Pojnte was very irritated that I was choosing not to get it done. They called and sent a letter. My new dentist, Dr. Cooper informed me that my teeth were great and he could not see any area that needed a crown. Do not believe what North Pointe Dental tells you. They recommend procedures that aren't necessary and add up the dollars as much as possible. read more

Although this is a beautiful, state of the art dental office and the employees and dentist seem nice enough, I would never return or recommend them to anyone. I wish I had read the reviews of them online before I went there. I wanted to change dentists and their office was close to home, so I gave them a try. I have gone to the same dentist for 20 years and have had twice a year cleanings and the occasional cavity. I only thought of changing to get closer to home. When I scheduled the appointment for a cleaning I was told to allow two hours for my appointment. When I arrived, there were no other cars in the parking lot and no one else in the waiting room, yet I still waited for 10 minutes after I finished my new patient forms. The hygienist was nice and friendly. She did a full mouth set of xrays and a procedure to check for gum disease. When the xrays came back (quickly) I was told that I had lost a filling in one tooth (as I had suspected and advised them of) and that it couldn't be filled because there was additional decay behind what was left of the filling, so I would need to have a crown put on that tooth. Additionally I was told: 1) I have an abscess above one tooth that would require a root canal followed by a crown. (The infection could potentially cause serious problems and even go to my brain if not taken care of.) 2) I have a cavity in a wisdom tooth. 3) The cap (crown) on my front tooth is old and cracked and needs to be replaced. 4) I have gum disease and need to have an initial treatment for that followed by 4 cleanings a year. (my plan pays for 2 per year) The dentist said the crown for the tooth that I'd lost a cavity in needed to be taken care of immediately. In that office, immediately must mean whenever, because that appointment was scheduled for 3 weeks later. The cleaning that I originally scheduled the appointment for was not done, because they "ran out of time" even though I was there 2 full hours. When I got home, I looked at reviews online and saw some that had experiences similar to mine. I called my original dentist and was scheduled right away for the cleaning. Even though I was not due for xrays in his office, I asked for a full mouth set so he could see any problems or potential problems. Lo and behold, NONE of the things I was told I needed done were necessary; no abscess, no cavity in a wisdom tooth, no chipped cap and no gum disease. The tooth that I thought I lost a filling out of was in fact, a chipped tooth that can be corrected easily with no need for a crown. Just be your own best advocate. read more
