I had a dental appointment with another dental company and they called me 2 hours before my appointment to cancel my appointment. Their hygienist was unavailable. I took antibiotics (required) prior to that appointment, which they were aware of. The dental office still wouldn't take me in because they were fully booked and said I could rebook for another day. I immediately searched for another dental office and saw the glowing reviews about Summit Dental Group. I called and explained my situation and I got an appointment within 30 minutes!! Am from out of state and looking for a proficient dental practice. Before I moved here, my personal dentists also taught at highly recognized dental schools. Excellent dental hygentists at this practice. However the dentists here seem to have very high opinions of themselves. I was never asked about my background which is almost a PhD in education. Was asked demeaning questions. Overall treated very poorly. Very disappointed. Couldn't recommend. Came to this location based on previous high reviews. read more

Newcomer in Fort Wayne. I searched extensively for a new Dentist, researching online reviews, etc. I originally found one other Dentist and they had me wait for months and then was disorganized. Their reviews were not as good as Summit, Southwest. I am very happy that this happened because Summit fit me right in, visiting their office on 9121 Illinois was very relaxing and comfortable, and my Dental Hygienist, Amanda, was super professional! I really appreciate high quality care and she really took the time to get the hard to find tartar. In my experience, I have had some not so meticulous Hygienists and left disappointed. Not here! This was my first visit since we just moved to Fort Wayne. When I called the office, the young lady was so helpful and was able to get me an appointment quickly. The dentist, Dr. Evans was very nice as well as everyone at this office. I lucked out finding a great dental group and would highly recommend them if you are in need of a dentist. read more

Dr. Regan was my dentist when we lived here and I LOVED going to him! The office is nice and the rooms have TV's. Dr. Regan did a root canal that was nearly painless. He used some kind of tool that would send a jet stream of the numbing chemical into your gums (painless) so when it was time for the needle part of the anesthetic, I felt almost NOTHING. I wish I could find another dentist that uses this! My root canal was challenging and he did a great job. I have absolutely no complaints with my experience with this dentist and miss them! read more

I went to the Illinois Rd. location. I went for an appointment and cleaning for the first time in 5 years. I was so afraid to go because it had been so long. I didn't want to be shamed for waiting to go. I could not have had a better experience. There was zero shaming. The hygienist was only concerned about making me comfortable and getting me taken care of. She was gentle and kind and explained everything she was doing every step of the way. I felt so comfortable and like I could ask any question that popped to mind. I will be recommending the practice to anyone who asks and intend to be a regular client. read more

I have seriously never had a dental hygienist who was so gentle, yet so thorough when cleaning my teeth. She was an angel! The dentist was also over the top nice, taking the time to get to know me while doing his exam. All of the people I came into contact with were over the top friendly, accommodating and professional. Sorry for the length but this really frustrates me. I recently moved to Fort Wayne and needed a couple cavities in 2 wisdom teeth to deal with. Summit recommended to fix the 2 teeth rather than pulling them. I had food getting trapped between the wisdom and molar so I was thinking about pulling them. They used clamps on my molars and wisdoms to create separation to fill the cavities and get a tight fit. Unknown to me was that they cracked my molar tooth. Even though they got a tight fit, teeth move and after a short while, the fit was not tight and food got caught again. A few days later, I noticed some and interfering bite and they ground down part of my wisdom. 2 weeks later, I noticed that a back tooth was making too much contact and I thought it was the other wisdom. I went back to see them and they said it's the molar next to the wisdom tooth that they repaired so "it's not our tooth". They did not take off the high points even though they saw them!!! It seemed strange to me that it took 2 weeks before I noticed the interfering bite. I took a trip and went to my previous dentist about a month later. By that time, I had a bump on the gum near the interfering molar. He checked it briefly and said he was sure the molar was cracked. Once a tooth is cracked to the bottom, the tissue dies between the roots and the body tries to push the tooth out. That's why I had an interfering bite 2 weeks after have Summit repair my wisdom teeth. The bump was my body's immune system fighting off an infection since my gums didn't want to stick to that molar anymore. I think Summit Dental knew that they cracked my molar when I went to see them 2 weeks later but they did not want to tell me. My previous dentist tells me I need an implant now which will cost 2 to 3 thousand dollars. Summit did not want to take responsibility for that. I do not recommend anyone to see them. They should value the customer above anything else. I think a dentist knows that teeth move when under a tight fit. Why risk using clamps to get a tight fit when this would not last? Were they thinking I would have more problems with the wisdom and molars since food still was getting stuck and I would need to get more work done? In any case, I have lost all trust in those dentists. read more

This place was great! I went in to get a checkup, and had to get a root canal done. I was moving in a week and a half, so ithe original plan was to get the root canal done a few days before I moved, and to get the crown fitted as soon as I moved to my new place. However, they made sure they contacted me the next day and called my cell, my home, and my mothers cell to let me know they could fit me in for a rush root canal that day! They rushed the crown fitting as well, so all was done! I had two cavities filled and a root canal, all on the right bottom molar teeth. Total procedure took about 3 hours, but it was virtually painless. Dr. Regan was awesome, super friendly and ENSURED that the customer was comfortable, no matter what! Even if it made his job harder, he wanted to make sure you weren't in pain and you were healthy. I didn't wait to get my procedure done as many people do, which is why they feel a lot of pain. I barely felt any pain, just a tiny bit of discomfort. Would highly recommend this place, my whole family goes here and if I lived here, they would certainly be my regular dentist. Only thing is, which is totally dependent on insurance, but the procedures are quite expensive, unfortunately. Total cost of 2 cavities and a root canal, and a temp crown was about $800, after insurance. The permanent crown will cost extra. :/ read more
