Failing to be professional with what casting directors demand is a roadblock. Submissions are "make or break" power moves. THE ODDS ARE AGAINST the apex storybook discovery tales of rarities like JLAW, Michele Pfeiffer, Charlize Theron etc. so if you expect that to be your way in...it's not reality. I get cast and work in these markets: NYC (Netflix movies), Atlanta (Marvel/ABC), and Mid-Atlantic (Apple TV). I am new to the business (three years in) but I have been building a resume over time and there is no way I am going to compromise because I take my career seriously. There is no slack given in a highly competitive industry with a dearth of roles and a surplus of talent. She quickly made herself part of the background. The kids didn't even notice she was there, and she was able to get lots of great candid shots! My son wasn't feeling great, but Alina had some toys and props with her to help distract him and also had some tricks up her sleeve to get a fussy 3-year-old to smile! She got the CD to us by the following week. With other photographers, we had to wait at least a month and usually had to pay through the roof to get prints without a watermark.
