In all my 15 years of seeing different physicians, dermatologists, chiropractors, etc... Dr. Hensen is hands down, the most knowledgeable and comprehensive doctor to date. Even as an adult, I continue to struggle with severe, hormonal cystic acne. My dermatologists have recommended a cocktail of antibiotics, diuretics & cortisone shots to "help" with the painful acne, but today, I still struggle with it on a daily basis that haunts my self esteem, confidence, & inability to go out without any makeup on. They have started to recommended Accutane in my early 20s, and I've seen few friends who have gone through this med with some success, but with very uncomfortable side effects (extreme dry lips/peeling, GI symptoms, hair loss... and severe fatal birth defects of trying to conceive). The medications seem to mask my symptoms instead of curing it from the core. Thus, my friend recommended Dr. Hensen. Just by looking at his background and his natural, holistic approach in healing the body, that peaked my interest. From the moment I sat down, he was attentive and asked a lot of great questions to figure out when and where the problems started. I asked him a few questions, and I was impressed at how much he knew about the body, enzymes, vitamins, etc. He recommended that I get an IGG exam to find out foods that I may be sensitive or allergic to before anything. Then, he suggested I could follow up with a hormonal test to see the levels of my hormones throughout the day. All in all, a great experience and i didn't feel rushed or ignored by the doctor. I followed Dr Fenton to this whole health wellness center. His chiropractic care is the best I've received. With two inflammatory arthritis conditions, hyper mobile joints, and sacroiliac dysfunction... his chiropractic care keeps me moving- and off steroids and pain meds. Learn about his technique- it's not like the typical chiropractic medicine where you feel beat up after the appointment. In addition, the massage services are excellent. My family had also benefited from the Accupuncturist's eastern mixed with a clinical nursing background... which just means we understand what she's doing and why it will help us. I really enjoy what this place has to offer. I was introduced to them in 2013 after a summer company picnic. I injured my back while playing in a volleyball game, and needed to find a Chiropractor. North Suburban Wellness Center came up in Google, and was close to me, so I gave them a shot. I have since become a regular customer of the services these guys provide. I cannot recommend them enough. I have taken advantage of their Chiropractic, Massage, Audiology, and Acupuncture services. I came in with lower SI joint aggravation and Dr. Fenton worked on me for my first session. Using a combination of structural chiropractic work and Active Release to focus on muscular imbalances, he really helped tune up some areas that weren't working as well as they should. Dr. Rob Fenton is a miracle worker! After giving birth to twins and then carting my three children around my body is in need of constant tweaking. He took his time to understand what was bothering me and then quickly went to work to fix the problem. I felt better after the first session, but went back for follow up to take care of it for good. I've been working with Deb for acupuncture and Dr. Fenton for ART and both have been sensational. ART is a wonderful alternative/supplement to standard chiropractic techniques. Dr. Fenton was able to relieve the stiffness and immobility from my upper back area to my neck after a few short visits. I noticed that there aren't many reviews for this place so I wanted to chime in. I started searching for an acupuncturist lately because before moving here I went to one regularly back home and found it immensely helpful for overall health, chronic headaches, and getting through a rough pregnancy. I went to a couple before finding Christine Davis at North Suburban Wellness (one was incredibly painful, the other had shaky hands!). Christine is the closest I've found to my original guru back home (who was supernaturally amazing)- she's very attentive and kind. She also does this thing where she blocks the pain when inserting the needle so that you don't feel a thing (I'm a big fan of this). She also goes out of her way to make me feel comfortable during treatment. I always feel cold and she heats the table (fancy I know) and puts a heat lamp over my feet. The office is clean and welcoming and there is plenty of parking. The receptionists are polite and quick. They even took my insurance information and had someone research my benefits to check if I was eligible for any kind of reimbursement (I'm not, but I was happy not to have to spend the time to find that out myself.) Overall I have had and continue to have a good experience with this office. read more

Deb the acupuncturist totally made my tendinitis go away. Dr. Denton made me the best orthotics I've ever had. Dr. Kaye the audiologist made these me amazing ear plugs that block out so much noise. It has been close to 10 years since I had been to North Suburban Wellness to receive acupuncture from Deb. Back then, they were down the street. In those days, Deb helped me through fertility. Fast forward to now, I need her again to deal with different, personal health issues. When I walked through the doors for the "first" time, I was GREETED by Amanda. She actually met me with a smile and a freshness one would not expect for a 7:30 p.m. appointment on a random Tuesday night. From her genuine warmth, I dared to hope that I was "home again". Was I really back at that special, amazing place that changed my life so long ago? North Suburban Wellness and DEB had once been an oasis for me in the midst of all the craziness of doing fertility. It surely seemed like I was back where I needed to be. When you are in need of help with your health, life can become a place where there is no personal care. Your world is filled with cold medical offices where you are faced with nameless, faceless medical staff who are just pushing you through the system. I couldn't face it anymore without Deb. I was truly a mess. Being in the middle of day 11 of a cluster of migraines is really a tough place to be. Of course, there was a clipboard full of questions and information to fill out. I took it with me over to the seating area and tried to pull it together to fill out the information Deb would need to work her magic on me in the acupuncture room. I became overwhelmed as my head continued to pound. I could barely see the words on the page, let alone write the answers. Enter my angel - Amanda... She literally put her arm around me and asked if she could help. I became teary as she began to do the work for me. She gave me a hug, grabbed some tissues, and made the impossible possible. She wrote down everything Deb needed to help me. She was kind, caring, and PERSONAL. This is what I had been missing in my world of medical revolving doors. I thought that with the way medicine has become as of late, that it was just a thing we all had to deal with to get the help we need. This is NOT the case at North Suburban Wellness. I've since had many positive interactions with Amanda. I have also come to find out that her job is to coordinate patient care. That is an understatement! It is not her job, it is her life! She works long, long hours and wouldn't have it any other way. Her passion for helping others is so obvious in not only everything she does, but also in the WAY she does it. I'm so fortunate to have her on my team. I'm also, thankfully, getting the care I need from Deb. She is a gift from above and is working small miracles with me once again. I've even gotten involvement on my case from Dr. Henson, the owner, chiropractor, and creator of this magical place. There is no uncertainty as to whether or not I've made it back to where actual human healing takes place. North Suburban Wellness was the piece I've been missing in my latest medical journey.
