Ive used River Road Veterinary center twice now the first time was to have my year old papyion mix…read morespayed ( Thank you doc Amelia ) and after the operation Miss Lily was very upset and vet tech Erin got down to the pen and held her till she was okay.on her next visit to get her stitches out vet tech Brian was very good with her and doc Amelia found she took her own stitches out.she was brought up to date on shots and has been well since. My next urgent visit was for my 13year old Norwigen Elk Hound Bear. He was limping on his left rear leg and wouldnt let me touch his foot. We called and they got him in that day. when we got there we were meet by Erin and ushered in to a room right away Brian came in to take blood to test for Limes (He was very good first time flash and took the blood) Then Doc Amelia came in and checked him out,She was very Professional,And you could tell she care (she was worried about causing him pain) He had all but torn his toe nail off and it had to be taken off. Doc took care of the problem very deftly, Showed me the right way to take care of him explained about the meds he needed and helped us get them. Bear is recovering and doing well. I cant thank them enough for the care and help they have given us for Lilly and Bear They are animal lovers and show it. THANK YOU Doc Amelia ,Techs Erin and Brian ps Told my mother about these guys and she now takes her dog to them. I tell everyone how good they are

My vet kept telling me it was environment or food but never prescribed anything. I kept switching foods. Dr Diaz gave my dog 1 allergy shot and that was all it took. I'm here today to pick up prescriptions for my friend. The lobby is beautiful and clean! Plenty of parking! It's just a little far for me but seriously considering switching here!

We have been to Eastbrook since our pup was about 8+ weeks old. Our dog is 5 now and healthy. We…read moreare meticulous about our dog's health. He has had yearly physicals and vaccinations all through Eastbrook. This is only the 3rd time we've needed attention for minor injuries. At best, from past experience, it would probably be a 15 minute "in the exam room" visit. I called today and was told they couldn't see him for approximately another 2 weeks!!!! What is the point of being a client when we can't even get our dog seen for a minor injury? We were told to try other vets in the area. My suspicion is the practice now turns all their time to "well visits" to make the most amount of money. I called the veterinarian we used with our other dogs (switched due to a move and proximity to our new home) and they had an appointment for us the next day. Needless to say, we will be making a longer trek for healthcare for our pet and no longer using Eastbrook.

If you have a sick pet or need medications on a day they should be open but decide not to be, you have a problem. They advise going to Middletown or New Haven. Oddly enough, they don't even recommend Bolton which is so much closer. Long time staff members have left which isn't a good sign either. I left an urgent message recently and never got a call back. It's too bad and sad to see what this place has become

I cannot ever say enough good things about these wonderful veterinarians. At some point or another…read moreover the last eight years, I've dealt with all of them, past and present and they're all on top of their game. I have goats, sheep and an ornery pig and the ability to have them available 24/7 and within driving distance is a godsend on so many levels and has saved the lives of several of my animals when time was a critical factor. To have a large animal veterinarian nearby is such good fortune in a career that turns out primarily small animal veterinarians. Whenever one of my goats is down (about 95% of my calls!), and it always turns out to be something freaky-deaky, it's a huge practical, hands-on learning experience as they are all teaching their students at the same time (there's a rotation of Tufts students that do stints working at the clinic in the latter time as a vet student). Even when there's no students involved (usually an emergency weekend call), the vets are in teach mode and it's a blessing of abundant knowledge that they are able to give you. They're practical while also being empathetic to emotional situations. I do very much appreciate all of them, but Dr. Sanchez, Dr. White, Dr. King and Dr. Wilkinson are the veterinarians I have built best a repertoire with -- they've seen me at my worst, my most stressed emergencies and my critters with the weirdest and extremely varied and changing symptoms. Whether it's a goat with a food allergy (ahem, Penny), a goat kid with a limp (that would be Lulu), a goat with her mammary tissue expelling from her udder (Elphie-the-wonder-goat) or a goat that hasn't eaten in a week, retaining fluid and running fevers (I'm looking at you Epie -- stop eating pokeweed) - because it's almost ALWAYS a goat problem - they're there for me and my animals and I'm so very, very grateful. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FROM ME AND ALL OF MY CRITTERS! xoC
