Dr Diaz gave my dog 1 allergy shot and that was all it took.

We had a 18 year old tuxedo kitty who was failing and unable to get around the house. We called our…read moreregular vet and they couldn't do a house visit because of a lack of staff. Mind you we have been with them since the 90's. Regardless we called Fenton River in Stafford and talked to the nicest lady who had someone come over the next day for euthanasia. The ladies who came to our home were very compassionate and professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has ever had the saddest experience of putting a family member to sleep when it's their time.

BEWARE - do not bring your pet here. My dog (6 y.o. rescue…read moremix - very healthy, luckily!) had a non-complicated ear laceration surgery at Tolland location, having come out of it with 2(!!) superbly antibiotics resistant nasty bacterias in her - Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and Staphylococcus Epidirmidis. Both are common hospital infections, and the former can live on surfaces (even dry!) for 4 years - so, be cautious! My dog had not been exposed to any other unusual environment or change in routine, except this surgery. I have two other dogs, who are constantly together and have no signs of these infections. The only uncommon thing that happened was - this surgery. If this bacteria is bread in un-/under-sanitary surgical room or hospital (with all facts present - this is the only highly likely source of infection), it's extremely difficult for them to eradicate. ...so, here we are $2k+ and counting! Here is the rest of facts: They took a week (!) to run lab/test results for Pseudomonas A., which is susceptible (conveniently) to only 1 recommended antibiotic that get administered every 4hrs. via IV, requiring hospitalization. When they realized I'm not willing to hospitalize my dog, they prescribed an antibiotic that's only intermittently effective against this bacteria, that's got an explicit warning to NOT use in dogs, as it's causing bone marrow suppression. If the above is not preposterous enough, they had just notified me, 2 WEEKS after surgery, that there was another bacteria discovered in that same sample - a staph! My dog contracted 2 nasty and extremely hard to kill bacterias as a result of the surgery. I am attaching a copy of the lab testing result here and happy to share the remainder of documented information with anyone who's still on the fence to keep, take their pet to or start brining them to Fenton River practice. I personally strongly advise against it. The risk to your pet's health IS NOT WORTH IT. My experience with them speaks to incompetence, pet ailment she didn't have before and wouldn't have otherwise that I need to continue caring for weeks, and if I had to apply simple terminology - medical negligence.

Stafford Veterinary Center - It's ok mom. I forgive you

We had a deeply disappointing experience at Stafford Vet. When we brought our 1 year old cat in for…read morewhat was supposed to be the removal of one problematic tooth, we were shocked to find out that they had extracted nine teeth during the procedure. We were completely blindsided and misled. The vet did not communicate the extent of the extractions beforehand even after the completion of X-rays. We were not given any explanation for why so many teeth were removed, or why there was no prior notification. It seemed like our concerns were brushed aside. No one present for the X-rays or the surgery was there to give us any answers. We were told that the vet would call us the next day to discuss our concerns. It took us calling back requesting to speak with the vet for 3 days before our phone calls were returned by the vet. She was apologetic, but admitted that we should have been notified prior to the removal of the additional teeth, as well as given an explanation as to why they were pulled when we picked our cat up after the surgery, not 3 days later. This lack of transparency, compassion, and communication is unacceptable. We trusted them to prioritize our cat's well-being, but I now regret our choice. We should have trusted our guts in not returning to this vet after an equally traumatic experience when our other cat was neutered at Stafford Vet. They sent him home without stitching the wound, leaving him covered in blood and with an open incision. We had to rush him back just moments after bringing him home due to the amount of blood, where they eventually glued his wound shut after our concerns were raised. They wanted to keep him overnight, however we refused due to the obvious lack of concern for our cat. He healed nicely at home under our care and supervision. We are quite furious with the decisions made by Stafford Vet, and cannot recommend them to anyone based on these disturbing experiences. Your pets deserve better.
