Dr. Sutter and Manchester Vet Clinic were our Zuchon dog Molly's vet for 15 years. We lost her in April. They have always provided wonderful care. She developed pancreatitis when she was 2 - 3 because we fed her wrong. After she stabilized, they worked with me to find recipes for nearly fat free meals that met her nutritional needs and kept her well. We credit her longevity to those meals with all natural food and their care of her. After Molly passed naturally, they made a donation in her name to a charity that supports getting better food to dogs.....perfect! They sent a lovely handwritten card too. My Gracie, a precious lab mix had been a patient at Manchester Vet since 2021. Recently she developed a bleeding spot on her tummy. I brought it up to Dr Laufer while Gracie was being seen for another concern. Dr Laufer told me it was only a blood blister and and picked away the dry scab. A few days later I brought Gracie back in for a visit because her tummy was still bleeding. Dr Smedley took photos and prescribed an antibiotic. I asked how long do I apply it for and her response was "till whenever." She told me to send in photos after a week. I did just that and was told the area looked better although I told her it's still bleeding. She told me to put a t-shirt so that off she bumps the area it would give it some protection. I was deeply concerned that Gracie was not in the best of care and changed to a practice which is not corporation owned and to a veterinarian whom I trusted. I took Gracie immediately to be seen by her new vet and just by looking at it he told me it is a mast cell tumor. I would like to know how two doctors in one practice had no idea what it was and how to treat it. This is tremendously concerning and I feel it's important for others to know this. My recommendation is to stay away from corporate owned veterinary practices. I adopted Gracie during Covid and my previous vet was not taking on new patients. Manchester Vet Clinic was the only one taking new patients. I later learned that they are corporate owned. My recommendation is to do your homework when looking for a veterinary practice because corporations are buying out small practices. You don't receive the kind of care, knowledge, warmth and professionalism. read more

They used to be good- these other reviews are resting on their laurels. Practice has been purchased by corporate vets. I actually had a woman come up to me in a Manchester store asking where I take my dog to the vet- she said I USED TO GO TO Manchester vet they are AWFUL NOW - BOY do I agree. They had us come in 9 times in one month for the same issue. They offered no help until the very last 9th visit in 30 days- sent us off to a hospital. Our Pet insurance DROPPED US- BECASUE OF THIS LACK OF CARE! Our 3 year old dog now has no pet insurance. Everything she ever had is a pre existing conditinon! AND to make matters worse the specialst another 250 for a the consult says what is wrong with the - this is such an easy fix. Wow wow wow! Even she was miffed. God help you if your pet is sick in this practice. So I have been taking my dog to Manchester Veterinarian since November 2022 we've always taken our dog for all his visits, including any health issues throughout the years. I was called by Manchester Veterinary office stating Wagyu was due for his annual visit on April 8. We moved during the past year and I try to have his flea and tick medication renewed, and they denied filling his medication for flea and tick because he was over three weeks of his annual exam.I work in the medical field. The garbage that they're trying to feed me is ridiculous and it should be known that they actually are more money motivated than they are about their patient's. Any good Doctor would fill their patient's prescription and then allow for an appointment on a later date. Doctor Gomez was asked to give me a call. She did do that, but she was saying the same thing that she was not willing to help me. that is not good. Patient care that you're willing to allow the dog to be exposed to something for no reason. Now because of the situation, I don't want to take my dog there anymore now. He will now have to wait for another appointment somewhere else, which is putting his health at risk yet again. read more

The staff and the doctors are very friendly and nice. They have always been nice to my baby and takes nice care of him. Our favorite place to bring our fur baby and he likes it here too. read more

Aside from the excellent medical care and procedures they provide, the front staff is always very friendly and professional as well. From day 1 the staff has been absolutely wonderful. Few yrs back my kitty Poombah broke her hip and my fiance and I had no idea where to go. We chose this place only because it was close in the beginning and now our vets called us with info about suggestions and what they would do. We could bend her hip back or take her home, let it heal naturally with meds and care. We decided to take her home and in a few months she was healed. They also introduced us to Care pet insurance which helped us tremendously with our bills. From the moment you walk in you have 2 separate entrances for cats and dogs and some very relaxing soothing music in the background to ease your mind. We just went there recently and now Poombah kitty is 20 yrs of age and she is close to that rainbow bridge but as usual the staff was so kind and sweet. The vet showed me how to administer an iv treatment, gave us high protein food so she maybe could start eating a bit since she hadn't eaten in 7 days, and held Poombah very lovingly which showed me they love animals for sure. I guess everyone wants similar things from a Veterinarian. Relatively on time, well run office. Skill Veterinarians who are good at handling your pet and diagnosing health concerns. A Veterinarians who is able to explain things and will listen to you. Making decisions about your pets' health care is a process. Asking questions and finding the best options for your pet. I have been going to Manchester Vet Clinic seeing primarily Dr Atz & Dr Babuska for many years. (I'd guess well over thirty years). I travel 45 minutes to get my pets the best care that I can get them. read more

I was referred to Manchester Vet by my neighbor when I adopted a shelter dog last March. He needed a full check up and shots as well as neutering. We have since transferred two of our other animals over to the practice and plan to take everyone else whenever they need veterinary care. I can't say enough good things about the staff and the level of care that our animals receive. Everyone is patient, helpful, understanding, friendly - and the services are reasonably priced compared to other vets in the area. I have had animals for many years and have gone to quite a few veterinary clinics. I can attest that this practice is the best one I have ever used. They are extremely helpful, kind and most importantly knowledgeable. They helped me with the treatment of very ill animals, the loss of a pet, and gave me constant advice to how to train a puppy. On a friend's recommendation, we made our first visit to MVC recently. Our visit was quick and painless both for us and our kitty (we think..) The facility is well-lit and clean. Both the examination room and waiting area were organized and neat. Our veterinarian, Lenka Babuska, and her veterinary assistant, Heather -- were both friendly, patient, and informative. The whole story: My cat has been a patient at Manchester Veterinary Clinic since before I adopted her five years ago. For years, I was a once-a-year checkup kind of person. Dr. Soutter, my primary veterinarian, was always kind and caring, happy to answer any questions I had. Then, two years ago, my cat became quite sick. To make a long story short, we became "call the vet about poop weekly" people, my cat and I. Over the last two years of receiving a difficult diagnosis of a rare and incurable illness, I have realized how lucky I have been to have the entire staff of MVC supporting me. I have met nearly every doctor on their staff, and they are every one knowledgeable, patient, and kind. Every course of treatment is explained patiently to me in detail so I understand what is happening, and why. I have never felt misled or misunderstood by anyone at MVC. Their commitment to kind and evidence based care is evident in every interaction I have with the staff. And even when I feel I MUST have exhausted their unlimited patience (seriously, how many questions about poop can one person have?!?) they answer every last question in as much detail as the first. read more

We have been going here for the past 15 years or so. Our dog is 14 years old & has been starting to decline in health. We brought her in for a physical due to some hind-end problems she was having. Dr. Babuska examined her and prescribed pain medication and anti-inflammatory medication. She also suggested acupuncture with Dr. Atz. He was amazing. He is soft spoken and gentle which really relaxed our dog. He explained the procedure to me. When I brought our dog home, within minutes, she had gotten one of her toys to play with!! She was able to finally walk up the stairs with no problems. She seems so happy again! We are amazed and so grateful for this team of professionals and highly recommend this animal hospital. read more

The staff on the phone and at the front desk are always friendly and helpful. Dr Snyder and Toni were amazing with our dog. Our 2 year old dog was very anxious about going to the Vet. He would not enter the building. With the help of Dr Snyder and Toni he was able to be treated for an infection. The two of them were so calming, they worked with our pup to make him comfortable. They stayed with him with treats and peanut butter until he was able to have a successful visit. I am so thankful to them. read more

Had to have my first experience putting a pet to sleep here, and they really did their absolute best to make sure the experience was as gentle as possible (answering all my questions and scheduling the procedure at a quiet time). Really helpful in providing care outside of normal business hours when my elderly cat got very sick right before i had a major, uncancellable business trip. Provided medical boarding for me at a really low cost. My latest adoption is a young FIV-positive cat who indicated serious dental disease at his first check-up with them. They said they could do his surgery but recommended taking him to a specialist instead, as they do not do much dental surgery and it was best to have the surgery done by someone who does extractions weekly. The specialist was great and my little guy came through with flying colors. Turning down business for the best interest of the animal - nice! I will say, yes, I do call for test results because the call does not always come right when they get them, but given the big picture I will take it. read more

Awesome staff and prices are fair. A lot better than pricing than Glastonbury. Bad: Not as knowledgeable. Probably because they only have 4 vets in the clinic. My dog had an auto-immune disease that took several visits and several months to diagnose. I often wonder if I had received a second opinion right away, maybe my dog would be here today. My opinion is to now go to a vet that has many vets such as a Vet 24 Hour Hospital in Bolton, CT or West Hartford, CT. These are the folks that see all the emergencies and have a lot more knowledge. Plus they have your records there and you feel more comfortable when you have those emergency after-hour calls. read more

My cat was very sick; brought him here for check up and blood work. They really dropped the ball on this one. No communication. Never called back - three times - when they said they would. WE had to call to get blood work results. Used to be our vet. Sorry I cannot recommend them anymore. :( read more

I've been taking my pets here for years and find the front desk staff helpful, friendly and courteous. The office is well organized and each staff member is identified by name tags so you always know who you are dealing with. Telephone calls are met with professionalism and reflect good customer service training. The doctors on staff are caring and make every effort to be clear, thorough and professional on every visit. If appointments are running behind, I have been kept informed of any wait time but have rarely experienced any delays. This is the smoothest running medical office I have been in and service exceeds my expectations. read more
