I was immediately overwhelmed by the love and craft in the classroom. I had the opportunity to tour…read morethe school very last minute after my husband a few days prior toured and said this school is special. I didn't realize how special until I saw it in person. Alice's true authentic Montessori school was warm and inviting. Unfortunately due to distance from us we decided may not be the best fit, but assure any parent her attention to detail and sections for children to focus on math, cursive, and art was nothing less than a beautiful display. The children are able to water flowers and do arrangements, have access to beautiful grounds and nature. Highly recommend and if location / travel time from where we live in Columbia was more feasible would have enrolled our daughter. A must for any parent looking for AMI teaching!!!

A wonderful guide, a great community, true Montessori practice (which is proven to work better for…read morechildren than Montessori-ish alternatives), and a place that offers great Montessori education without creating the warped sense of normalcy that children with predominantly super wealthy classmates are at risk of developing. Finding that all together is hard, but also so important. My toddler loves and is benefiting from practical life work, and so needs the grace and courtesy and independence that great Montessori primary programs can foster. I'm so, so grateful that Apple Ridge and Ms. Alice are here for him.

Choosing Immanuel Montessori School was one of the best decisions we made for our daughter. From…read morethe very beginning, she was welcomed into a warm, nurturing environment where she flourished both academically and personally. The Montessori approach, especially the mixed-age classrooms, made a tremendous difference in her development. Being surrounded by older children encouraged her language, communication, and social skills to grow far beyond what we expected. She also built lasting friendships and became much more confident in herself. One of the things we appreciated most was the school's commitment to outdoor learning. Our daughter spent so much time exploring nature, and although she often came home with muddy clothes and dirty shoes, she was always full of excitement and stories from her adventures. It was wonderful to see learning happen beyond the classroom. The teachers are patient, caring, and truly invested in helping each child become independent. They taught our daughter valuable life skills, from dressing herself to putting on her own shoes, and even helped potty train her in just over a week. The confidence and independence she gained during her time there have carried over into every aspect of her life. We are incredibly thankful for the loving teachers and supportive community at Immanuel Montessori. Watching our daughter grow into a happy, capable, and curious little girl has been the greatest testament to the wonderful work they do every day.

We also love that they have chickens and a garden which made it feel like an extension of our home. The children are able to be outside and be kids as well! I can't remember a day when they came home and were not cover in dirt! I highly recommend this school. Montessori might not be for everyone but as I mentioned, I will not send my kids any where else.

We are very grateful to this school for accommodating our daughter after the year had already…read morestarted, we don't expect they can do this for everyone but it's one of the reasons we loved it so much. The director of this school is amazing, she pours her heart, time, work, and love into the school, kids, activities, events, and ceremonies. The teachers are excellent as is the quality of the education. The behavior expectations are strict, but their methods are objectively effective and the teachers use proper disciplinary techniques (our daughter never complained about teachers shouting, yelling, or being mean like at other schools she's been at). Our 5 year old finished pre-K and is able to read, do math, and also learned history and geography. We recently took a long road trip and she often talked to us in the car about things she learned in school about the different states we visited, or historical figures we mentioned (She learned a lot about MLK, for instance). The school is wonderfully diverse, there is no religious affiliation so our daughter was taught equally about all religious and cultural traditions during the different holidays. We loved all the events, and ceremonies we attended, in the year our daughter was here we went to a few seasonal concerts were the kids sang and danced, as well as a trunk or treat, Halloween parade, earth-day activity, and a surprisingly robust graduation ceremony! We absolutely recommend this school to anyone in the area, preschool is a very important developmental stage for children and this school did a fantastic job setting our daughter up for success in K-12!

The teachers are great communicators; they call you with urgent issues during the day, give you brief updates at pickup and are always happy to answer questions. In addition, they have parent teacher conferences (for toddlers!) to keep us in the loop. If you ever get a chance to observe the classroom, it's amazing how one teacher that can control so many kids in silence with only sign language, even though they are all working independently. We highly Recommend JBS

I have not seen any educational or moral progress with my child. Teacher level of education and capability to teach is zero. One year of what they called education, my child still writes the Z inverted. The teacher did not have a capability to correct that!!!!!! I had been in international Montessori school when I was a child, the level of emotional and social support was beyond amazing, while julia brown has nothing to do with emotional and social support. I have no idea how Montessori allowed them to run under their name with such poor standards of education and engagement with the child, never mind the gloominess of this school, old furniture, no modern methods of learning, my child continuously expressed how unhappy he was there. Kids don't lie!!!!

The setting is idyllic and in winter the sledding hill is legendary. Highly recommend Mater Amoris.
