We worked with Northeast Charter to shuttle our wedding guests from the hotel in downtown Portland to our venue about 30 minutes away. They were easy to work with from the start, providing a quote quickly and a number of vehicle options to choose from. When I provided a schedule, they let me know that the time table wouldn't quite work because a bus takes longer to travel to/from than a passenger car. I was very appreciative of this attention to detail to ensure everything went smoothly for our event! The driver was on time the entire night. I thought their price was very fair. Couldn't have asked for a better shuttle vendor for our wedding. They were flexible as we finalized our guest count and route in the weeks leading up to our wedding. On the actual day, the shuttles got all of the guests there on time and we're at the venue waiting to take guests home as scheduled. 10/10 would recommend. If I could give zero stars I would. we hired this shuttle service for my daughter's wedding. First, their prices are extremely high. For the price, I was expecting exceptional service, but that is not what we got. We hired 2 buses. On the day of the wedding, one broke down. The company never called to let us know, we hear from our guests who were stranded without transportation. The one bus had to go back to get the rest of the guests, which caused us to have to delay the start of the wedding. After the wedding, when it came time to take people home, one bus was full, the second bus had 10 people on it. The basically empty bus left without checking and the entire wedding party was left behind. I had to call my brother on the second bus to tell the driver to come back to get us. After the two mishaps, I waited for someone at the bus company to call me on Monday to apologize, but nothing. I called and the owner was on vacation. After he returned, still no call so I had to call again. The owner couldn't be bothered to talk to me, he had someone else return the call and offer a very small refund. If you want to feel like a valued customer and you want excellent service on your special day, do not hire this company. read more

She was very familiar with the area in which we needed service and she was extremely knowledgeable in helping us select the right vehicles and start/finish times. Her staff of drivers was on-time and extremely friendly. We used them for pick-up and drop-off from our 'venue' to our hotel. We booked this company to transport our wedding guests to and from our wedding ceremony in August 2014. Unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied with the service provided. The driver was late, reportedly due to a lack of gas and traffic, two issues that should be anticipated when you are driving for a charter company. He then drove recklessly and didn't appear to know where he was going to our guests. They had to instruct the driver on the destination. At one point, he reportedly backed up on a major highway. Our guests felt unsafe on the shuttle we provided, and his late arrival delayed our ceremony. While we understand that mistakes happen, unfortunately, the company's customer service after the fact was just as terrible. Although our wedding planner contacted them immediately after the event to voice our concerns, she initially got no response. When I then contacted the company myself, I received excuses and delays for weeks. Their staff would tell me that they were going to meet with the driver and the owner and get back to me and then not respond in the time frame that she volunteered. It's now been almost 2 months and our concerns have still not been adequately addressed. I would not recommend this company. read more

I contacted this group last fall and explained in detail what I needed for a wedding 9/17. The quote was for something totally different. After another discussion with a different person requesting a quote, I didn't receive the quote, inquired about it and was told they don't have the vehicles she told me they have! Ridiculous. We were looking for a way to transport our guests to our wedding, to avoid drinking and driving and also because there was limited parking at the venue. We got married in a small town in Maine where options were quite limited. We had looked into getting the more expensive trolley's that can be rented, but they were far too expensive for our budget. Ben over at Northeast Charter & Tour really went above and beyond when accommodating our needs for transportation. They helped us find an option that fit nicely within our budget and timeline and we couldn't be happier with how everything played out. We had settled on a yellow school bus, but the day of the wedding was really sunny and without even having to ask for it they upgraded our bus to one with AC for the comfort of our guests. (Without charging us any extra for it!). Everything ran smoothly and the services was really appreciated by our guests. Up until the day of the wedding Ben would constantly make sure to keep our quote at a point that we were comfortable with, at a time when many other vendors would've very easily just added on charges instead. Would most definitely recommend! The only thing I would say where there might be room for improvement is the response time over email that sometimes was longer than I'm used to, but it all got settled very nicely in the end, and we also got married in the busy season, so it is to be expected I think.
