When I provided a schedule, they let me know that the time table wouldn't quite work because a bus takes longer to travel to/from than a passenger car. I was very appreciative of this attention to detail to ensure everything went smoothly for our event! The driver was on time the entire night. I thought their price was very fair. The tent & cabin were both very clean & comfortable. The campground community bath house (when staying in a tent or cabin w/out bathroom) was also kept clean. The cabins could use a bit more privacy - all the huge, gorgeous, picturesque windows are problematic as (particularly in the winter) there's several other cabins w/full view into your windows. It would be nice if it was more of a private / woods view than looking into other cabins. That said, my daughter & I enjoyed our time and have been repeat customers. Would give it 4.5 stars (Yelp doesn't give half star option, but I needed to account for the lack of privacy in several of the cabins in the area we were in.). Overall a great option & we'll likely be back!

What to do in Freeport? VISIT THE DESERT!…read more This has been on my list for years and it did not disappoint. I kinda found it odd to pay $21 to explore the dunes but here's what we got for the price: - unlimited train rides - Ability to wander the desert - Executed their scavenger hunt - the kids rode a massive slide (unlimited) - we explored a fair/troll maze - dug for fossils - visited an old gas station - walked through an old home - unique playground This place isn't just the desert (and I don't mean the mini golf.) It's a little hidden wonder that offer families things to do. My kids (4 and 13) were fully immersed in the experience. The oldest was keeping the youngest involved in the scavenger hunt which he loved looking for the 'red' guy. The hands on portions fully captivated them. I was worried the walking might be a lot for the little guy but he didn't complain not once. It was explorative and interesting. Keep in mind, on hot days I bet you feel it! Bring sunblock, wear hats, closed toed shoes are best and water. Also, the big blue slide in the rear of the desert shoots little ones out like a cannon! I thought he broke his arm but he was ok! You've been warned.

We always stay close to the store, large bathroom and playground so everyone is in walking distance. Unfortunately,this year was disappointing. They removed the men's bathroom and turned the women's room into a unisex bathroom. I have young granddaughters and a young female guest, so when I saw a man coming out of the bathroom they were in, I was very upset. When I asked the owner why men were in the women's bathroom, she said with an attitude, it's unisex now. I got an eye roll .There are no signs saying it's men , women, or unisex. I did not feel safe sharing a bathroom with men, and I certainly didn't feel safe letting my grandchildren in there. My grandchildren were terrified to go to the bathroom at night, and I can't blame them. We also had another issue. We rent a minimum of 6 sites every year. My daughter couldn't stay as long as the rest of us, but she wanted to hang out at the lake with her family before driving home. They had no problem with this in past years. This year, they were demanding she left by 12 even if she was on one of our other sites. I went to the office to book her site one more night so she could go to the lake with us, and her kids wanted to stay another night. One of the other adults was planning on staying on the site with them. They flat out refused to add 1 night even though I already paid for 20 nights between the 6 sites. They said it was a 2 night minimum. So I paid for the 2 nights on another site. Instead of relaxing at the lake, I had to move the tents and everything else from one site to another. What's frustrating is they lied to me when they said someone else was coming in on that site. That site remained empty. The entire campground was a ghost town. 90% of the campsites were empty. It makes you wonder why? This campground used to be sold out in past years. It's a shame. Kindness and loyalty to your customers goes a long way...or they just go some place else.

My only complaint is that the bedside lighting in our room isn't sufficient for reading. Mood lighting ~ check. Reading ~ you'll need to use your phone or a flashlight. We stayed at lot 806 and the views were amazing. I will say, we stayed out of season in Mid October so we had a lot of spots to choose from. Booking was super easy and the check in process very simple. Property was beautiful, bathrooms and shower very clean. The bathhouse was alittle cold in the morning but the windows were open, the door was as well and adding that it was 35 degrees through the night so can't judge them on that. Thank you again for an easy and wonderful stay. We will be back next fall.
