We used to LOVE this practice and it makes me sad that it was ruined so badly when Pediatric Associates took over. All the previous, trusted, GOOD doctors and nurses have all left since Pediatric Associates took over. The doctors and nurses that are here now are iffy at best. I brought one of my daughters in for a sick appointment a few months ago and the doctor literally said to me "What do you want me to do?" I know sometimes there's nothing they can do, but better bedside manner and at least acting like you care about the child's issue would be nice. Then I brought in my youngest daughter for her annual checkup and the doctor basically called her fat (she did not say "fat" specifically, but she was very clear in her meaning to me and thankfully my daughter had no idea). She was very cold and not kid friendly at all. Why this woman is a pediatrician is a mystery to me. Everyone I know who used to take their children here have all switched to better practices and I will no longer recommend this place to anyone. read more

Northeast Pediatrics started off really good and I'm saddened to give a poor rating but there are things that parents should know... It appears that Northeast Pediatrics has changed ownership. I heard this through several other patients but this isn't uncommon and happens in any industry. There was no reason to not continue going since our doctor was still there and we really like her. When my wife took our child for her 2 year check-up she was asked to where a mask while inside which is not a problem, she was then told that our toddler had to where a mask as well which wouldn't be a problem either but our kid turned two the DAY BEFORE, she's not old enough to understand and keep a mask on. As a matter of fact, the mask are what has scaring our child from the very beginning of the pandemic since she was born in 2020, if the doctor pulled the mask down, she would instantly calm down.. Trying to get a 2 year old to keep a mask on is an unrealistic expectation. Our child cries the second the doctor comes in as it is, I can't even imagine having to cover my child's face while crying to stay compliant, that would be scary for a child and it doesn't take a doctor to understand that. Since our 2 year old wasn't able to wear a mask, my wife was asked to wait in the car and the doctor would come out to them. My wife initially accepted and was also given some paperwork to sign, this turned out to consent forms and at that point pretty obvious things have changed, my wife walked back in, cancelled the appointment and requested to have medical records transferred. Another major change we noticed prior to the visit was few days before the visit, we called and was unable to get directly to the office, they now have a call center that clearly isn't in house. The man who picked up the 3 total times we called had a very deep accent, so much so that it was hard to understand him. My wife even asked where he's located and she couldn't get an answer. This was alarming to us because we're parents calling to share information about our child and schedule appointments, I want to know who I'm talking to and where they are from. This person can see our information and for all we know might have access to medical records. I feel that this shouldn't be a question for any parent, how is this not a privacy concern?? I went back to the office today to drop off the medical release form, the girl working the desk was nice and advised that it could take up to 45 days for the transfer and that it is not done in house. I asked her if there's any way to follow-up with their office directly and she advised no, which basically means we're stuck having to work with the call center from who knows where. If by law they have 45 days to transfer the records, I'm surprised there's no paper trail of me even coming today, other than me showing up and dropping the paperwork off, I have nothing to prove that I even showed up... Just too many concerns and changes all at once for my family, this is unfortunate, they had a really good bedside manner before all this and it's sad that something can change so rapidly and not for the good of the patients or even the staff and doctors that have to enforce the rules. My wife and I support mask and protecting the frontline workers and our own, we understand that, but again, a two year old wearing a mask is ridiculous when the doctors visit is already a cry fest. Not to mention, I'm willing to bet the medical staff is required to have their vaccinations in order to work there. It's really hard not to see a political divide. Very very sad. Luckily we found another pediatrician that agrees and has great feedback from other parents we networked with. Wishing our doctor the very best and I hope someone acknowledges this review, this was a 5 star pediatric in our book since our child was born and have echoed that to many other parents prior to this last experience. read more

Previously I had to go in because of an allergic reaction and while inside I was still on hold for half an hour before it hung up! We've been at NE Pediatrics for 2.5 years and since they were bought by Pediatric Associates all of the previous doctors have left, continuity and quality of care is gone, and it's impossible to call and talk directly to the office staff. For example, I need a note for my daughter to return to school from illness. I had to call the general National line for them to call and ask for a note with a 72 hour estimated reply. Same process for making apts or anything. We have been forced to leave even though it's near our house and we wish it had not gone down hill. Very disappointing. read more

I do not recommend this practice since it was sold to Pediatrics Associates. In fact I would recommend against. If your child is sick after hours you are sent to a call center - there is no personalized care for your child. We left the practice a while ago and they are still sending us appointment reminders. They also cancelled my son's annual visit because they were understaffed and then rescheduled it for six months later. This resulted in me having to double pay for the physical when I tried to get back to the annual visit in his birth month rather than six months later. They have lost touch with what Pediatrics is all about. SO so sad as it used to be a wonderful practice. read more

So sad. My daughter is 11 and this has been her pediatrician since meeting Dr. Bhumi in the hospital at birth. Since Dr. Bhumi left and the practice was sold to Pediatric Associates it is AWFUL. Beyond words. I don't want a detached, uninvolved call center to discuss my child's medical information with. It is big business and it shows. I am currently sitting on hold for the 3rd time today with billing, over 25 minutes so far, still have yet to make a connect to a live person. So that I can get the information I need to pay them. We have lived in N Pinellas for over 5 years and still were making the drive to St. Pete, that is how much we loved this office. No more, this is the final tie and then we are DONE. Praying the situation is much better. Such a shame. My advice, stay far, far away from this pediatrician. read more

Angry momma here. Your once reputable practice has now become a complete joke. It is extremely unprofessional what measures you've taken to potentially save money (this is my guess of why the change). When my son is sick, I don't expect Verizon tech support to put me on hold and route me to India for an appointment that can't take place until a week later (this is becoming a typical experience with you). I know I'm not alone here, and I'm hearing this from a lot of other parents in the community as well. I strongly encourage you to rethink your business practice. read more

Been coming for years, but since the practice has been sold, the customer service has gone down hill. You can no longer call and speak to someone in the office directly, they mistakenly billed me and made me call my insurance company only to find out they never submitted the claim to my insurance company to begin with, there is only one doctor (as opposed to four on rotation who were kind and caring) who lacks bedside manners and seemed very impatient and is always rushing to the next patient. I'm not in the medical field and I asked the simple question of "Is my child contagious?" Instead of simply saying there's always a chance, she looked at me as if I asked the dumbest question in the world. read more

This place is a disaster!! We loved Dr. Bhumi when she was running the place but since being bought out, we've been routed for care in South Florida (we live in St. Pete and I'm not driving 4 hours for a doctor's visit) and today with a sick kid, I was scheduled for a 4 pm appointment that we were ready for but the provider was running late with another patient. They are now using Kidzfordoc app, which is fine in this day of telemedicine. However, 26 minutes after the appointed time, we were kicked off without warning and the provider in Plantation (Ft. Lauderdale area) is now no longer available! We got reconnected and put back in queue after two frantic calls to office (lady who helped us was in Ft. Lauderdale) so here we are, waiting for 5 patients ahead of us for a provider!! A 15 minute appointment that turned into a 2-hour wait--not efficient at all!! We are done with them and I'm telling everyone to steer clear of this practice! read more

The waiting room is bare walls- not a single fun or colorful or calming visual for kids as they wait to be seen. We love this office. My 4 year old has been a patient there since the day she was born. The staff is friendly, caring, and professional. My little one came down with an ear infection during the pandemic and they actually came out to the car to examine her versus unnecessarily risking us to potential exposure. This is our second pediatrician in the two years we've lived here, and we are here to stay. The staff in consistently warm, knowledgeable, and efficient. This is not your increasingly typical high-volume, impersonal, chain medical facility. Dr. Bhumi is incredibly thorough. She takes the time to listen, answer questions, explore different options with you, and she has a genuine love for her job. My children feel comfortable with her, and I trust her and her associates completely. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. It used to be a nice neighborhood pediatrician's office where you could call and get the actual human being sitting at the front desk of the office. Now they have outsourced themselves to a call center. You cannot speak to a human being at their office over the phone. You are forced to wait on hold for at least 5 minutes before someone even answers, then you tell them what's going on and they place you back on hold for another 10 minutes. Then they answer and they say "What doctor's office are you calling about?" Because it's just a call center fielding calls for hundreds of offices. They don't care about you at all, you're just a number and they just want to get you off the phone as fast as possible. Then they place you on hold AGAIN to check the appointments, and I swear to God EVERY SINGLE TIME, the answer is "One of the providers is out sick today, so they're very limited and they have no appointments." That's it! No help at all! You've waited on hold for 20+ minutes for absolutely no reason, no help, no one cares. I do not believe that a provider "called out sick" or "has a family emergency" every single time, sorry. The last time I was there I told Dr Cotti how disappointed I was with the changes, and she agreed and she said she was leaving, too. So, now it is obvious that Dr Bhumi has completely sold out, only cares about the bottom line, and she can't get another provider to even come in and practice at this terrible location. I don't know what happened, but it's SO disappointing for the families who went there. Edit to add: After this I was able to find another pediatrician's office who (1) has a human being who works there answer the phone in only a few rings, and (2) was able to see my son as a new patient that very same day. So, it is possible to run a practice that way. It only made me happier in my decision to leave Northeast Pediatrics. The difference between the two offices was night and day. I'm really sad that Dr Bhumi can't see how much she sacrificed in the patient experience by outsourcing half her practice. I went to another pediatrician's office who used a call center before NP, and that was also the reason I left. I pleaded with Dr Cotti not to make this change, but obviously they didn't listen to her either and now she's gone. Selling out is never the answer! read more

I was recommended by this dr office because Dr Bhumi's brother was my obgyn when we lived in Orlando a couple of years back. So when my kids original pediatrician retired in Sept 2020, we called Dr. Bhumi's office right away. Although we didn't get to see Dr. Bhumi often, we were (and still are) very pleased with each Dr. So, the reason I gave them 1 star is because something changed drastically over the last 2 months or so. First of all, you will never speak to anyone at the actual office. You get a call center and you literally are like a number. I literally called for 3 days straight and they couldn't find any of my (5) kids in the system in order for me to make appts. So I had to wait for someone from the office to give me a call back. Problem is - I never received that call. Finally I called back 3 weeks or so later and I was able to make the appts. During this call, I made sure to change my insurance and phone number. This was to be updated for all my kids. So, 2 kids have their appts and one was referred to another Dr. I called this Dr 4 times to make sure they had proper paperwork in order for me to make the appts. Sure enough they didn't actually have it until the 4th call. At this point I don't know who is to blame. Fast forward a month. Each time you go to an appt you have to complete this ridiculous online form that rarely saves the info (the non changing info) from the prior appt. So I start the forms for 2 kids but the telephone number is wrong. You must have this for completing before attending the appt. So I call the call center and advise them of my issue. They change the number but it doesn't reflect. She has me sign out sign back in and nothing. The appts are about an hour and a half away at this point. So I ask her if I can speak to the office and she says no I need to call the area that handled this error to fix my portal. I ask her to transfer me and she said she couldn't I would have to call myself. I asked her to cancel my appts at that point because this is sensitive info and I felt like I was a number/robot. I was so tired of having to call and speak to some random person and not being able to speak to my dr office. Crazy thing is - I called a new Dr that same day and when I told her we were transferring from NE Pediatrics, she said we were the fourth family that day to transfer to their office from them (it was 1:30 pm at that time). She even so graciously let me vent to her and actually listened. Most importantly she was in the actual office - I definitely asked. I am so sad by this because I didn't want to transfer but I feel I had no choice. My children's care is extremely important and I didn't feel that NE Pediatrics sees it that way. We have been going to Northeast Pediatrics for 5 years now. We have seen all the doctors, but Dr. Bhumi most regularly. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her! She's very thorough, listens to your concerns, and remembers them. My husband came to the last appointment with me and raved about Dr. Bhumi's care and involvement when she met with us. She's kind and caring and treats your children without judgement. She's easy to share your thoughts with. I love that she doesn't jump to conclusions or push medications if not necessary. However, today I tried to make an annual appointment for my child and I am on hold with a CALL CENTER. There is no way to talk to someone in the actual office. I am so upset! Save yourself the frustration and do not go here! This was an amazing pediatric practice until it was recently sold. Now it is run poorly in every manner - bills not run through insurance even though insurance information updated on portal, outsourced billing company not reachable by phone even though they will keep sending you incorrect bills, incompetent call center as your first point of interface, scripts virtually always sent to wrong pharmacy even though correct information listed in portal and verified verbally at visit, referrals often made with zero attention to location (wrong part of the state) but worst of all Dr. Singer is possibly the most difficult physician I have ever had to interface with. Due to her negative demeanor and horrible bedside manner, she had both my daughter and my nephew in tears on separate occasions. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. I found Northeast Pediatrics on Yelp and Google and decided to take my son here since it is convenient to us and the reviews were so good. Making the appt was a breeze. The lady I spoke with on the phone was helpful and nice. I love that I got text reminders leading up to the appointment as well. Waiting area is very cute. The walls are colorfully painted in an ocean theme. Our appt was at 8AM, and we were called in around 8:15AM. Nothing wrong with my son, just wanted to get him established with a doctor's office in the area. The nurse that saw us was talkative and friendly. My son felt very comfortable around her. We then waited for the doctor which did not take long. Dr. Mularoni saw us and she was great! You know how sometimes you go see a doctor and they're kinda just rushing along and want to get you out as fast as they can? They kinda make you feel stupid for asking questions or don't answer your questions at all? Not the case with Dr. Mularoni! She patiently explained everything she was doing and answered all of my questions. I felt very at ease with her. Very impressed with the amount of professionalism here. They are moving into a bigger office soon which is just a block or so away from the current location. We will definitely be staying with Northeast Pediatrics for as long as we are in the area. Two stars because we loved Dr. Bhumi and Dr. Cotti (who has since left). Otherwise, the administration of this practice is horrendous. TWICE, we went in for a well visit and were rudely told that we arrived on the incorrect day. What in the world?? Ok maybe once I could see, but twice? And then to be rudely spoken to by the staff was just unacceptable. We were on the fence of switching at this point, but the icing on the cake was the first time we had to have a sick visit and it was IMPOSSIBLE to get in for an appointment. Once we finally received an appointment, the office informs you to wait in the car until you can be seen. An hour later, my kids are screaming and I'm begging for the office to let us in. Nope. The only option was to walk my stir crazy, SICK children around outside on a very windy/cold day until they were ready for us. I was furious. Then after an hour and a half of waiting, a nurse came in who I had never seen before, barely looked at my kids, and declared that they were fine. I've never received such poor care. We switched immediately to another practice, but have heard nightmares about the new management and the call center. read more

We have been very fortunate to have Dr Bhumi (and her amazing staff) as our pediatrician for both of our girls since they were born. She always takes the time to answer all of our questions and provides the best care possible. Dr Bhumi is kind, caring, knowledgeable and our girls just love her! I love Dr. Bhumi and Northeast Pediatrics. We have been patients of Dr. Bhumi's since she was at her old practice in Pasadena, and I have recommended her to many of my friends who also love her. She had helped us through some difficult situations and has always been available to us when we needed her. Her staff is friendly and helpful and treat us like family. One of the things that is most important to me with medical people is that they do not condescend to me and no one at this practice has ever done that! I wish that Dr. Bhumi could be MY doctor! I am absolutely in love with this practice. I truly enjoy going to visit - even when I've been up for three nights in a row with sick children. They're all incredibly sweet. I love Dr. Bhumi. I agree with another reviewer, I really wish she could be my doctor. So thorough- and brilliant. When she walks in your room, it's as if she doesn't have any other patients to think about and she just spent hours reviewing your chart. She even mentions things we discussed at previous appointments. She remembers everything about our family. She likes to get to the bottom of things instead of just sending you home and telling you to buy some Tylenol. Go with Dr. Bhumi, you won't be disappointed :) read more

I chose this office based on it being much closer than my child's previous Dr. and based on a friend that liked them. I regret my decision to go there. In 2010 my child was sick with ear infections every two weeks and on the second visit they were pushing me to get get tubes. At the end of the year my benefits were exhausted due to how often my child was sick. I tried to make an appointment in early 2011 as my benefits were replenished and they would not see my child because I owed an outstanding balance. They would not take a payment arrangement and advised me that they will not send her file elsewhere until the balance is paid in full. We are talking about $200 after the thousands my insurance has paid them. My child needed to be seen, so I had to borrow the money. I paid the bill and they then told me I also needed to pay the appointment in full, because they do not trust that my insurance will cover it. After fighting with Michelle about it, I finally got her to call my insurance to confirm that I am covered and that they will receive payment. This took a full day to work out, with a very sick child, fighting another infection and me missing work. The final straw was me discussing the amount of work that I have missed due to my child being sick randomly and asked Natalie if she would fill out FMLA paperwork for me, so I do not risk losing my job over my child being sick. She said yes. The previous Dr. had no problem doing this, as I am a working mother and that jobs tend not to be very accommodating to the single working parent. Once my child entered daycare she has had a very hard time dealing with the germs. The only reason I left this office was because it is quite a drive for me, but I plan to go back, as it was well worth it. When my job suggested I get the paperwork filled out as I had missed 5 random days, I got the paperwork for her to fill out and sent it to to office. She then called me saying that my child doesn't have any condition....which is what the paperwork says she should have. I explained that she can just explain how often she has been in there and what she has been seen for etc and what type of care I will need to provide her. I gave her the dates I needed it to cover and she filled the paperwork out wrong showing the care ended already so my work only was able to approve it for a couple months based on they way she filled it out. My child was sick again and I brought the paperwork in to request her to fill it out correctly and Natalie was very irritated that I was asking her to do this as if I was asking her to fraud the system. She kept saying that she can only put what she sees in the charts. She said this 12+ times and I in defense said I never asked her to lie or say something that is not true. My child had gone there for a full year, so it was common knowledge that she has had recurring ear and sinus infections. She was also previously determined that she had a weakened immune system based on her seeing an immunologist before and she had acknowledged this on multiple occasions. When I brought this up, she said nothing in the other Dr.s file said this and she only said she had a weakened immune system, because that is what I told her. Are you kidding me? So nothing in the file stated this, but you brought up her weakened immune system multiple times, only based on what I told you? She would not take the paperwork out of my hand when I offered it to her and she told me to just leave it on the counter in the room. I asked if she is going to fill it out or not and she said I can only do what I already did, which is write what I see in the file. She then cut me off and told me that she has to go because she has to see other sick kids. She did send the paperwork into my job, but still put the wrong dates, so I am covered for the future but none of the time already missed to date. This is twice that this office assumed I was trying to get over on them or that I had some sort of ill intent, which is not true. I am a hard working single mother and just do not want to get fired, if I need to care for my sick child. I am not lying or trying to somehow get paid for this time off, I just want to keep my job, as I do not have a great support system of people signing up to look after my child when she is ill. I am not taking a vacation and sitting on my butt at home. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Northeast Pediatrics. I've taken my twins here since they were born, 3 years ago. I recently moved to Pasco county and it never crossed my mind to switch doctors. Making/changing appointments are a breeze and there is always a smile on the other end. The nurses are very attentive and offer great guidance during mommy freak out moments! The doctors are brilliant and always have the child's best interest at heart. read more

I appreciate that NEP cares about both my child's health as well as the general health of our wider community and I support their decision to only treat children that are current on vaccinations. I'm saddened that Northeast Pediatrics will no longer be treating children who aren't vaccinated. I realize this is a hot topic right now, but I really thought NEP was above jumping on the bandwagon. I've recommended your practice to people in the past, but now I have to tell many people to find another doctor to take their children to, because you're ostracizing those who choose not to vaccinate for religious/personal reasons. It's your practice, and you can do whatever you please, but, like I said, I'm deeply saddened that you're going down this road. read more

This office denied my child medical attention! Absolutely appalled by the conduct of this facility. I have two young children, both of whom have received medical service from this office for the past 7 years. Just before Christmas the office called to inform that I owed $76, I asked for more time, which was denied, so they sent me to collections. The law office for collections called me, my bill is now $300! I paid them $100 and set up a payment arrangement. A week after making the first payment, my child was sent home from school and required medical attention. They denied to see my child, when he was in need of medical attention because they sent me to collections. I would like to think a doctors oath, would mean more than a dollar bill, obviously not. All they want is your money, no concern for your child's health. Do yourself a favor, create a relationship with a doctor that actually cares about your child's health more than a dollar bill. read more

My husband and I adopted a baby in Florida, and ICPC required us to visit a pediatrician before returning home to Virginia. Based on the adoption agency's recommendation, we went to see Dr Upadhuay at Northeast Pediatrics. The practice is in their new space now, and from what we saw, it's lovely. The first large waiting room is for check-in and sick-child visits - well children are immediately taken to a smaller, interior waiting room to keep away from the sick kids. We had the first appointment after lunch, and had to wait a few minutes to get in as the doors were still locked, but after that we hardly waited long at all before we saw the doctor, who totally understood our needs as adoptive parents waiting to go home, and knew the ICPC process pretty well. She assured us we'd probably be home before our 2-week appointment, too. Well, she was right - and here's the reason why I whole-heartedly want to recommend Northeast Pediatrics. We got clearance to take our son home within a week, and made airline reservations to do so. Unfortunately, despite having spoken to the airline's customer service rep when making the reservation, it wasn't until we got to the gate an hour before departure that we learned that our son would not be allowed to fly without medical clearance because he was only 11 days old. (The airline's policy is no children under 2 weeks of age.) Despite it being 7:30pm - and us not really being patients anymore - I called Northeast Pediatrics to see if they could help, and the on-call pediatrician was immediately on my side. She spoke to the airline supervisor, and together they managed to get a medical clearance for our baby to fly that night. She even called me back once the clearance had been sent to make sure the airline got it, and answered a few more medical questions before it was time for me to board (mostly to reassure me that yes, flying with an 11-day-old isn't the end of the world for his ears, and try not to let anyone breathe on him; advice which I am totally on board with, no pun intended). As far as I'm concerned, Northeast Pediatrics went above and beyond the call of duty in helping us bring our son home. They were kind, considerate, caring, and wanted only the best for our son's welfare. If we lived in St Pete, I would be completely happy with them as our regular pediatrician; as it is, I feel no qualms whatsoever in recommending them to those of you who do. If these doctors are this helpful and caring to a baby they'll only see ONCE in their lives - imagine how fabulous they're going to be with your tykes. read more

I only needed to interview one pediatrician and I knew I was making the right decision. We have been patients since 2012 and I have been happy. They don't make you feel like you are being a paranoid parent. They will answer your questions, fit you in for an emergency appointment. read more
