Bad customer service for anything but sweeping. Well this summer I told then I was ready to move forward on the repair. They didn't want to use their quote from last fall which is fine but they ignored several emails and it took them months to even come out for an updated quote. Well now I have questions about the updated quote would like to make a change to it and these guys have been MIA again. I'm sure sweeping my chimney is low margin but when the opportunity comes up to for real work they don't seem to want it. Also, this year after my sweeping I now have birds in my wood stove. My wife and I moved and discarded some wet stored things. Called Servpro to clean up on concrete floor . We contacted insurance State Farm and they recommended serve pro for claim. When manager showed up to first respond he took pictures and did estimate for the approximate 700sq foot concrete floor. I asked how much and he responded about $3500. High but it was Easter weekend so we had them start clean up. My agent in that hour advised us we had a $5000 deductible so I asked manager to bill us direct because of deductible. Clean up crew completed in 4 hours with 4 workers. Left concrete floor immaculate and left humidifier running with Thor small fans . Advised wouldn't come back until Monday to pick up dehumidifier Great ! Approximately 3 weeks later I get a call wanting to collect $8000 from Servpro ! Then after quick chat they offer a discount to $7000 and want my order insurance ! I advise them on what was given as estimate and the 700 sq mop and dry on concrete. She agrees to send me complex copy of computer bill estimate showing dimensions for the whole basement and walls in a 4000sq house LOL. I advise them they will have to suit us. I have detail pictures of job and have several exchanged in the weeks forward and then they turn me over to a reasonable collection agency We received several calls from someone claiming to be a private investigator who advised us he was going. To be doing a investigative and meeting with our neighbors while taking pictures of any and all assets property. We then have several exchanges with the collection agent and we stand firm on the whole issue. In the interest of bringing closure I make a offer to pay $4200 over VS the original estimate of $3500. The collection agent asked at this point why not turn it over to the insurance. After a little research this Is a common scenario. Often referenced as emergency response or some might say open ticket on insurance . Nice business . So be careful and get a written estimate. Even if it's going to insurance protect your self and don't get fraudulently treated.
