He quickly diagnosed the situation and as there was a way to use water without a further leak, he picked up the replacement part Monday and came right over to fix it. Here is my experience with this company. I asked them to install a propane heater in my home. The…read moreheater they installed was unvented which as the instruction manual stated, is unsafe to be left unattended in a sleeping space which is where it was installed. Now, I will take some of the blame here as I could have researched the heater they planned to install before they did it. However I believed I could trust their professional recommendation to be safe for use which it was not. They told me in order to replace the heater I would need to order one myself and they would replace it for me. I did so, at additional cost. The new heater smelled like gas immediately after installation. I texted them to ask if they had checked for gas leaks and received no response. About a month later, the heater stopped working and the whole house smelled like gas. I asked again about fixing it and was told it was not under warranty and they could take a look but would bill me more for it. Since I had lost confidence in them I said no. If you already know a lot about heaters including which one you need and how to maintain it they may be able to install it for you, but if you aren't already an expert I would look elsewhere.

By far the most unreliable and unprofessional contractor we worked with in our build. Not only were…read moreDonnie and Austin unresponsive throughout the majority of the process, but their work was unacceptable and downright lazy. Our unit was installed 5 feet from an outside wall and they decided to only run the exhaust. Even though we had an air tight, spray foamed home, they made a conscious choice to not run a fresh air intake and have the entire system suck air in from av sealed concrete basement. Second, and I'm not an HVAC expert, but one of the simplest parts to install would seem to be the filter. They decided to install the filter box underneath an elbow joint where you literally cannot get a filter in without folding it in half. There is no other way to describe it but pure laziness. Not lastly, but the last thing worth mentioning, was the wiring of the system itself. For the first month the fan ran 24/7, and according to them they were waiting on a call from the factory to figure out what was wrong. Multiple follow ups by me - never from them and all of a sudden they had it fixed. After multiple no call no shows I finally had enough and told them not to come back, and had someone qualified come in. With no background, they asked me if I had any idea why the fan wires would be unhooked?? That was their fix, to completely unhook the wires to the fan? I wish that I never came across their name. There is no service, no expertise, and it seems like every short cut possible was taken. I would never recommend French Hill to anyone. I should've turned around and ran after it took 6 weeks and multiple follow ups to even get their estimate - shame on me. Do not make the same mistake I did. Even in a small town there are much better companies to work with.

TOP NOTCH WORK AT A FAIR PRICE I can't say enough in praise…read moreof Erik and Nathalie. When my boiler suddenly stopped working, other contractors didn't even call back. Nathalie called that afternoon to say Erik would be right over, and he was! He explained what was needed and gave me a quote. And he came back early the next day, telling me I had to have heat ad hot water. They did the work thoroughly and efficiently and were a pleasure to deal with. And when my AC quit, again, Erik was there the same day. He showed me the material commonly used, which has major issues. He made a temporary fix, as the next day was to be hot, then came back to make a permanent repair. Nathalie runs the office and works with Erik when a job needs two people. They're smart and professional but also the kind of people you'd like to hang out with. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to everyone. P.S. I'm in St. Albans VT, not San Fran!
