Crystal Sands Beach resort was able to accommodate a girls weekend (17 girls) easily. The beach house apartments provided plenty of room, gorgeous views, full kitchen and an open floor plan. The Villa's are equipped with full kitchens, bedrooms, and open floor plans in general living areas. The Suite's were open floor plans with refrigerators and coffeemakers. The property and beach were well kept and grounds crews seemed to make regular rounds to ensure cleanliness. The resort is on the beach and has a gorgeous beach area. There were many families and children enjoying their swimming, kayaking, and bulldog sand castles. At night the resort set up chairs and multiple fire pits on the beach for guests and kept the wood coming and fires going! The resort also came equipped with regular housekeeping which included daily garbage changes, cleaning, and towel replacement. The resort is handicap accessible with an ADA Suite and handicap beach access. My travel companion is wheelchair bound and we had no problems getting around. The beach house steps were wide enough to get a wheelchair bound person up and down and all staff and owners were quick to offer assistance when we took the wheelchair and occupant of wheelchair up and down the steps. I've stayed in many (most) locations in that area on the beach and this is by far the best. We can't wait to go back for our annual girls weekend next year! I can't say enough about the location or the amazing staff/owners of the resort. They truly work hard (while making it appear effortless) to ensure everyone is having a great time. Would definitely recommend checking this little resort out. Close to the towns of Tawas and Oscoda. Only about an hour and half drive to Mackinaw City. Excellent price for what you're getting. The campground is ideally located near the charming town of Tawas City, where you'll find delightful shops, cozy restaurants, and a laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for strolling around and soaking up the local flavor. Lake Huron's stunning beaches are just a short drive away, offering breathtaking views and a perfect place to relax or take a refreshing dip. For fellow anglers, this place is a dream! I brought my boat and spent an unforgettable season catching more Walleye and Salmon than I could handle. The waters here are teeming with fish, making every outing an exciting adventure. I've stayed here twice in the middle of summer and it's been lovely. I chose the newer rooms that overlook the beach and it was great. The room itself is very large with a King size bed, jacuzzi hot tub with oils and bubble bath provided, a couch seating area with coffee table, a mini fridge, a coffee pot and a sink area with cups / glasses / plates and silverware. We wanted a toaster and asked for that and the owner gladly brought us one for our stay. The bathroom is nice with fluffy towels and nicely appointed. The sweetest thing though is that the rooms are all decorated in a Mardi Gras theme. It's a bit hokey, but fun. Little stuffed animals, mardi gras beads, purple tchockis all add to the stay. If you are on ground level out the back door you have your own porch with 2 lounge chairs and a table to sit and enjoy the beach. The sunrises are spectacular. Upstairs you would have a balcony. I liked being able to walk right out into the sand, so I stayed on the lower level both times. The owners are really nice, as an added bonus the wife makes a loaf of Amish friendship bread and leaves it in your room as a welcome gift. It is delicious with or without coffee. What a nice touch! There is a large beachfront area, plenty of lounge chairs, a club house, a volleyball net and other games. I definitely recommend.

We got there from New…read moreYork July 31 late at night and were greeted by clean warm rooms and unbelievably friendly staff. We spent a whole week and each day was as enjoyable as the last. The tide was never too high and the kids loved splashing in the waves and making sand art. The water was so clean you could see your feet even in the deepest parts of the lake and the sand is as white as snow. They also had a cute playground for the kids and a swing set close to beach for the kids at heart. Fin the evening, we played volleyball ordered pizza and roasted s'mores as the sun set and music blasted. We will definitely come back for many years in the future.
