Able to check another brewery from Maine off of bucket list with our trip up route 1 and we timed it right stopping in Presque Isle. Just 15 mins or so out of the way to grab a beer and split an app. They had roughly 6 or so beers on draft and I picked their nitro stout that was most similar to Guinness (chocolate, coffee, roasty and bitter finish) and my wife grabbed their Aroostook Lager (easy drinking malty lager). Both beers were alright, but neither mind blowing nor special. We split their loaded poutine that came with delicious bacon, onions, and scallions. Definitely the highlight and I think you should try it if here! Lastly our server seemed to have forgotten us and it took us awhile to pay after wrapping up. Overall seemed like a nice spot, going for a nicer/fancy look with minimal lighting. Can't speak to the food all that much besides poutine. Worth checking out at least once if in the area.

Friday night with Family. My first eating at northern Maine Brewing. Nice cozy ambiance. The food is excellent especially my dinner. I have the sampler's because I couldn't decide which meal to choose. It was an excellent choice. I love it! I also got a side of satay, mushrooms and onions. Delicious. We will be back.

Our waitress lisa came up to our table pretty much immediately. Very helpful (our first visit), checked on us several times, was efficient and friendly. The food came in a reasonable amount of time. Every bite was delicious! Steak was seasoned perfectly, cooked perfectly, delicious. Onion rings are huge. Beer batter is super crispy. Broccoli was even good bc it was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Burger was so juicy I used about 7 napkins (brought promptly by lisa!). Fries had lots of cheese and bacon. Just delicious. Not pictured was the very unique and very yummy beer battered deep fried cheesecake. Wow. Hubby really liked the beer, too! My drink was refreshing and so good.

This was our first meal out since moving back to Caribou after about 15 years. What a great start! First of, be prepared for a wait, at least on the weekends. We showed up at 5 and had about a 40 minute wait. The hostess will start a tab and bring out a drink order, and there is limited seating in the waiting area. This makes the wait time a social experience and didn't feel very long. I had a Jameson and the wifey had the River Driver Red. This is an easy to drink beer, mildly hoppy and approachable. We kicked things off with the fried pickles. I liked the twist of using planks rather than chips or spears. The increased surface area made for a nice ratio of beer batter to pickle. Maybe a touch more salt, but that's personal taste. I'd go back to this again. For our meals, the wifey had the Haddock Weaver, I had the NMBC Sampler which consisted of 4 oz each of the crusted Haddock Weaver, pub sirloin, and maple garlic chicken. The chef pulled off a perfect medium rare on a 4 oz filet. This was seriously impressive. I love seafood and it is rare for me to say a chicken dish outshines haddock, but that was the case here. The sweet and savory mix on the maple garlic chicken was fantastic. Our sides consisted of well seasoned and slightly al dente cauliflower and baby smashed potato served with sour cream, chive and bacon bits. Wrapping up, Caribou is severely lacking in food options. But that being said, NMBC earned and deserved the line out the door. On our first trip there, we decided to become mug club members, an investment on many more trips to come.

The signature burger. It has a name, but I don't remember it. This has a nice sharp cheddar and a bacon aioli

I've been here a few times, but finally taking the time to write a review...being realistic as a York county Mainer, where great craft beer is abundant, I wasn't sure what to expect when I first stopped into NMBC a few years ago while on one of my random escapes to beautiful Aroostook county. I was staying across the street so I figured I would go check it out. First impression of the building is it looks like a corporate bank building or something similar. That all goes out the window when you walk inside, however! Beautifully done space, with a view of the brewing operation from the tasting room/dining room areas...service was phenomenal each time, and the beer is very good. They make every effort to use local ingredients to brew their beer, including using unique Aroostook county grown hops. Then there's the food. The first time I was in, I ordered a burger. Their signature burger, which had a bacon jam and sharp cheddar. Right up my alley. It was OUTSTANDING. Perfectly cooked and just amazing. That made this place go on my list of stops every time I make the trip waaaay north. This most recent trip, I sat at the bar. The service from the gentleman there was great also. I ordered the 10 spice filet medallions that were on special, and it was a phenomenal meal at a reasonable price for the quality and portion. Can't say enough about this place!

Nice modern decor, friendly staff, and great food and drink. A must visit!

What a great find! The food was wonderful. And the beer was outstanding. I got the sample platter because I just could buy decide what to order. It was a good choice. The baked haddock has a special sauce that provides a wonderful heat without taking away from the gentle flavor of the fish. The stack had a tasty marinade. The maple garlic chicken with was a bit understated in the combo and could have benefitted from a similar heat to the fish. The loaded smashed potatoes were a delicious mix of creamy potatoes, sour cream, scallions and crumbled crispy bacon and seasonings. Because it was my first visit here, i just had to try one of the local brews. I tried the red lager which was so good I bought some to take home. Makes me sad that I live in Virginia! I'll have to return often!

I've been wanting to try this place forever. We did last night for my birthday. It was really good. I loved the successful social distancing. We take that seriously. We were out in the tent, which was heated and didn't have to deal with anyone else around. There were people inside the restaurant, but we had the tent to ourselves. My very picky, almost non-eating 6 year old loved his grilled cheese and ate it all leaving only the crust. That's a big deal. My husband ordered the haddock sandwich. The haddock itself was great, but he said the fryer must have been a little too hot since the batter tasted a pinch burned. He did order their version of a Guinness, and he loved it. He said it was like Guinness but smoother and better. I ordered an appletini which was great but a bit strong. That or maybe my stomach was a bit emptier than I thought. I ordered the sampler meal: the baked haddock, steak, maple chicken with a side of carrots/beets (the veggie of the day) and the smashed potatoes. Ok now. The chicken was a pinch over done but tasted amazing!!!!! It was really good. The steak was over cooked--medium well instead of medium rare. We did get that replaced, but even so, it had a very star anise flavor, and in the end, I didn't bother with it. It wasn't bad just not my thing. The haddock was really good but not as amazing as its description led me to expect. The potatoes were really good. And lastly, I've never ever ever liked beets before, and I ate these and liked them. I was surprised to find out they were beets and sent my compliments to the chef. I did intend to order dessert, but I actually had stuff at home and chose to skip. I'm looking to trying this place again some time.

Very good food and drinks, just a bit pricey for the area but, if you are looking to step up the dinner then this is a great choice.

It's a popular place with the sledder and four wheeler crowd because it's so casual and laid back. They can hold a lot of people when it's full. Instead of trying to find a bank in Woodstock, NB, I got off at the first exit and headed back west on Highway 95 towards the US border so I could visit the Maritime Exchange to exchange my US Dollars to Canadian Dollars and Loonies. However, I exited the travel plaza and had to cross the highway and GO THROUGH CANADIAN CUSTOMS AGAIN. I knew I was not allowed to purchase duty free items from the store since I was not going back to the US. Bummer man, because this store had some really cool sh-t!
