Waitstaff are very knowledgeable about the menu it's a cozy place vibe. We had pretzel bits they were good but the big pretzel is better. Cheese curds are good. We had the garlic cheese bread very good but we loved the garlic cheese bread sticks even more. I had a chef salad it was good lettuce not wilted dressing was tasty. My son likes the broccoli Alfredo it even reheated nicely. The Ruben was good but I asked for extra sauerkraut they wish I could've gotten more. The bread was good toasted and had good flavor. We took home the berry spare dessert it was very good. The water wasn't bad. Typical soda selections. We been a couple of times and probably will go back. Maybe next time in a Wednesday for trivia night.

I would not recommend coming here especially not for food or family time it ruined the whole night and I hope the waitress realizes how rude she was.

Our waitress was knowledgeable and give us some good ideas. Water was good and so the selections were mostly typical. As you know, I don't drink they had a large variety of IPAs beers, other alcoholic beverages. They also have mocktails. He did an order of the cheese curds. They were very good at dipping sauce tasted great. I ordered a salad, which was OK and pork filled a bao buns which were very tasty and barbecue juice sauce is not too spicy not too sugary. The whole sauce was very good on the bottom. Just wish it was a bit more. Make sure you have that napkins cause it does leak juice. My Son had the fish and chips. The fish was really well done they say crunchy a good portion of fish. Fries were good too.

It took 45 min for our appetizer to come out, after our server had come over twice to tell us it would be out soon. Then she didn't even bring it out, someone from the kitchen did, the same for our entrees. My steak tips were too tough to chew. My husband had the sampler and his steak was too tough to chew as well, and he said so was the chicken. He said the fish was the best thing on the plate. For me, the smashed potatoes were the best thing on the plate. Oh and the carrots were cold. I have to say, the presentation was beautiful, though. Our server never came back until it was time to give us the check. Never asked how our food was mid meal and never asked if we wanted another drink. All she did was she took our order, falsely told us twice that our appetizer would "be out soon", then we never saw her again until she brought the check. We're not ones to complain to a server so we just paid our bill and left. Our dissatisfaction was reflected in our tip, and we're usually fairly generous tippers. We're not local, but we visit the area a few times a year because my husband has family in the area. We won't go back the next time we're up there.

Got a month of pandemic PTO, use it or loose it. So, what do you do? Go on an epic adventure…read moresomeplace different, like the northernmost burgers on the east coast. Big Rick's is basically a bar with three main dining rooms. The layout suggests it is well suited to huge crowds. The front room has a full bar with some stools. The menu is basic bar food, burgers and wings being their specialty. They have a wide variety of sauces for the wings, definitely worth investigating. Then there is "putine", short u, short I, and silent e (sounds like evil Vlad). It is french fries, hunks of cheese and gravy. This must be adolescent ambrosia! Everything was fresh and simply prepared. Big Rick is a basic small businessman. He takes care of business, chats with the customers and agonizes over the bills. There is an excellent tag team of waitresses, all nice and proficient. The one assigned to me was a transplant, from far away. She did not want to talk about how she ended up so far from home. Inspired by the story, next stop Gilead!

Yesss... Okay, so I…read morerarely review on a first go at a place, but we ordered enough for me to be confident. When we moved back to Maine (after being away 3 years) we had a very hard time finding certain foods. Poutine was one of them. Now, lots of restaurants claim to have poutine when in fact what they're serving is known in other states as disco fries. We've tried it everywhere only to be let down each time. Thank you, Big Rick's, for actually making poutine! The fries are fresh hand cut, the gravy a WELL FLAVORED brown (probably beef), and here's the kicker: cheese curds! Most places up here don't bother with the curds and use a flavorless gravy that needs added salt. This was perfect as is! I ordered the wings, something else they're known for, and let me tell you! I'm tickled pink they offer them naked. So many places don't, but it really makes a wing to get away from all the breading. I ordered them extra wet, and they delivered! They were swimming in a pool of sauce at least 1/4" deep (or just under a cm) for you across the river. Then they have me another huge cup of sauce! They included three whole cups of blue cheese too. The wings are also what I've been looking to find for so long! They're not fatty, not tiny, just perfect. My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger. Now that was deceiving. It looks like a generic snack shop cheeseburger but I was in reality, really good. And he's picky about his burgers. Lastly, we ordered mozzarella sticks. Some places over fry them till they're hollow. Others under cook them. These were simple and good and very nostalgic of childhood. I'd happily go back and try their other foods!

Dolly's is a great place to eat! I've been here a few times, the only things I wouldn't order again…read moreare the hamburgers, they're tiny, and the fried chicken, it was just okay. My favorite things to order are the: Broccoli cheese soup bites - omg they are so good Fish n' chips - crispier and more succulent than Governor's Chicken stew - an Acadian favorite that is something like chicken n' dumplings with added French panache Ployes and Creton - Essentially pork rilletes over buckwheat pancakes, if you like a lot of flavor then this is for you If you order anything and they ask if you want Ployes go ahead and get them, whether you like 'em or not, you won't be disappointed that you tried them and many find them uniquely delicious. The service here is always super attentive. The waitstaff is knowledgeable about the menu, friendly, and quick. You might have to wait a few minutes to check out behind other parties but I imagine you kind of expect that at a sit down restaurant anywhere. The vibe inside is right at home in the St. John Valley of Maine, no fuss, home cooked meals. The restaurant is in a converted house, you'll see pictures online of rows of Side by side's and trucks parked out front, this is about as Maine, and as Acadia as it gets for restaurants up here.
